8th Man Episode 04: Turtle, owner of the Epic Trading & Import Company, is really the head of a crime syndicate. By smuggling the rare and deadly Spray Needle Blaster gun into the country and auctioning it off to the highest bidder, he poses a great threat to society. Chief Fumblethumbs assigns special agent Lieutenant Trim (a woman) to spy on Turtle's operations by posing as his switchboard operator. But when she mysteriously disappears, he sends 8th Man to rescue her and put an end to Turtle's operations.

a bit of first installment weirdness...the walter winchell narrator will soon be replaced by 8th man himself describing the action; Fumblethumbs' voice is normalized a few eps later, and Tobor's use of power tubes is minimized in later episodes.

If any anime J-studios would remake 8th Man to a more modern standards, his design would akin to modern tokusatsu, like 8th Man has a Kamen Rider-esque designs (or even the Metal Heroes), more armor for more protection and strength.

The Chief mis-counted the recovered guns by 1000 and never got a warrant for his agent to listen in on the phone calls. The bad guys got off and the Chief was suspended.

Why is the narrative voice over different in this episode? Rather than the usual basso voice, we have a twangy Walter Winchell wannabe.
