- Coffee cones are tricky to glaze because we NEED those holes to stay open!! Here is the system. I have come up with that has been successful and relatively easy.
If you have another way, I would love to see it!

Wouldn’t you want the holes glazed? To prevent the coffee from seeping into the clay?
Nah. A little soap and water cleans it up like new
@@AmyPalatnick oh ok. I had always been under the impression that it was either a mold issue or maybe effects the clay, but that to be food safe, it needed glaze. Honestly asking, no judgement here, curious because I just got a pottery wheel but I don’t have a kiln or glaze but I have a place I can take it to to fire and they have glaze I can buy, so was just curious.
@@lynz1370 in general, yes, you do want glaze just for clean-ability. I wouldn’t make a bowl or a plate without glaze. But to have little portions, missing glaze is totally fine, especially a surface that you’re not eating directly off of.
If I glazed the holes, they would either fill up with glaze and it wouldn’t work, or the pot would glaze itself to the shelf.
@@AmyPalatnick ooooh ok! Makes sense! Thank you so much! Love your work btw!
Does the unglazed clay not absorb liquid?
It does not.
