    Again, I just love these closed form techniques! I'm fascinated by the mix of science and art for making vessels designed for specific contents.

    Thank you for sharing your techniques and tools. Your generosity has inspired me (and many others I’m certain) who struggle with “manly” throwing methods. This is a beautiful form that I am excited to try!

      Thank you for your comment 😊 Every potter has different methods. I’m small and don’t have power…..🥹 But I want to throw!
      So this is my way of throwing and I’m happy to know someone likes my form ❤️

    I cannot wait to make these. I've been making oil bottles for quite sometime but I love the idea of making a bottle that doesn't depend on the addition of a mass produced spout. Doing it this way will help keep costs down as well as selling prices up do to the unique design. Thank so much for sharing, this has made my day!!!

    This is fascinating! I’ve used stain bottles in a lab that had a similar design; however, there was a channel in both the bottle’s neck and the lid. By turning the lid so that the channels aligned, the liquid was allowed to flow out.

    Beautiful pieces and great explanation! I’m curious about the wooden stick you use for smoothing the inside. Is it a specific tool? Or one you created yourself

    • @AlchemyCeramic
      @AlchemyCeramic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your question 😊 The wooden tool is my original. This bar has 90 degree corner at the bottom so I can use it to shape the internal corner also. It is simple but super useful one. I recommend to use hard wood. Mine is soft wood as I couldn’t find long size hard wood. It still works well but the wood grain catches the clay sometime.
      I’ve got used to so no problem now. I use this tool a lot in my video. If you like to make a own tool i recommend to make this one.

    Can you please share what is your wooden throwing tool ? The one you use to pull the height ?? Thank you 😊

    • @AlchemyCeramic
      @AlchemyCeramic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your question 😊 That tool is hand made wooden tool. It has flat bottom to shape an internal corner and bottom. It also be use to bring the wall up. You can easily make it. If you have hard wood which is better than soft pine wood. The hard wood has finer grain and tougher for the water. Mine is soft wood and sometimes grain catches the clay. I have got use to so not a big problem but if you are going to make a new one I recommend hard wood.

    Very nice project! Did you glaze the bottle on the inside?

    • @AlchemyCeramic
      @AlchemyCeramic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your comment Aslia😊. Yes I glazed the inside. The overlap parts were well waxed and cleaned. I fire them the lid on so the joint part were very carefully cleaned from the glaze. After the firing, it is difficult to take lid so please dip into the boiled water for a while then gently tap the lid ( covered with towel) then the lid should pop!
