  • G-BYGF was delivered to British Airways new on 17 February 1999 and has operated
with BA since then. In July 2020 BA announced that it would retire all
remaining 747s. The final passenger service for G-BYGF was a repatriation
flight from Larnaca on 9 April 2020. The aircraft then remained at Heathrow until 26
August 2020 when she was flown to Cotswold Airport, Kemble, UK for part-out
    and scrap.
This film shows the final ever flight and landing at Kemble for this
    magnificent aircraft.

Really sad to see my childhood favorite, the BA 747, getting retired in the most heartbreaking fashion. In my opinion, few can really epitomize British pride and values as the BA Queen has done. Britain and the world will sorely miss her

So sad to see the end of this iconic aircraft. Very hard times for all aviation lovers. 🙁😒😢

What a bloody shame . The 747 is timeless , brought the world closer for many in my view . Hopefully BA will donate one of the fleet to a british aviation related museum for future generations to enjoy.

Feel pretty gutted BA losing the 747s. As a lad spotting at T4, BA had rows of -100 -200 & -400s it just wont be the same airline without them. After taking me to Sydney, New York, Singapore and Moscow, I was planning one final goodbye trip before they were meant to retire . Good luck to all the crews and thank you for your service and happy memories 👍 😢

A really beautiful video. And a piece of history captured too. I couldn’t get to film this aircrafts final departure from Heathrow on that day sadly - but great that you have her final landing.

Great video, always a nice touch to add the ATC audio. My only gripe; I wish you’d captured the full approach from turning onto finals all the way down continuously.

Thank you - sadly it was very busy there. I recorded the whole approach but had people’s heads in the recording so decided to edit them out.

Excellent film but a very sad situation. I’ve linked your film at the end of my tribute to BYGF on my channel so that hopefully viewers will see her both when she was in commercial use and also see her go to her final destination. Cheers, Steve.

We will soon be left with boring twin engined aircraft, with little to no personality.
