Fun fact, around the time this batch of episodes was airing, Ducktales was up for a TV award I can't remember the name of, and Frank Angones, the showrunner, posted on his Tumblr account that if they didn't win the award, Donald wouldn't come back from the moon. A big joke of course, but it was pretty funny at the time.
Louie is so sensitive and insecure behind his layback attitude. I just wanna hug him so hard 😭 Also I feel so bad for Donald. Like he litterally is a tragic character lmao
I absolutely love how you immediately realised Louie just needed time to adjust, and the others (both his brothers and Della) were jumping into things a bit fast. I don't really remember who. But I saw a reactor that even was a bit annoyed at Louie for not accepting Della right out of the gate
I'm sorry, but I was not a fan of Della Duck in either episode where she was stuck on the Moon. So, I was more on Louie's side when she returned back to Earth. Thankfully, Della gradually gets better as the show continues on. But honestly, why wouldn't he have reservations? He still kind of resents her for taking the Spear of Selene in the first place.
wait someone actually got annoyed by louie for doing that? Like honestly Louie's reaction feels like the most realistic reaction to have if someone you've never met before THAT important in your life comes back and claims to be who they say they are.
@@SunkistBlast yeah. I don't remember who it was. Since I didn't re-watch the reaction. But I remember the general tone of "Just go to your mom! She's been missing you so much!" And them dismissing how Louie felt annoyed me
@@klimmr fair enough. And as you said. Louie's reaction was very realistic and in line with his character. Not saying the others aren't in line with theirs. Especially Dewie. He for sure would jump in head first without any hesitation
This episode always reminds me of what Louie's character is like and how much different from others is and is something crazy since he is one of the triplets, you can hardly imagine that he had such realistic personality and thoughts and how he sees the world so different that how his other brothers see it, he is the character that curiously keeps many secrets including his emotions
My reaction to seeing these episodes have been uploaded: *Angelic choir* Also, did you notice, Della HATED the OxyChew... while Donald is different. Della likes adventure, Donald just wants to survive.
There is resentment for Della from Beakley there. You can tell by the way she called Della a child that she holds Della responsible for Spear of Selene incident. That makes sense considering she was the one who was around when Scrooge was doing everything in his power to find Della. She saw first hand how much Della’s loss impacted Scrooge and the rest of the family.
In real life Gold’s melting point is below the heat of the Earth’s atmosphere I also love how they realistically show that the triplets aren’t used to having a mom and Della has no idea how to be one
Fun fact: seeing the ship is the first time Donald says Della's name in the entire show outside of the past scenes of "Last Christmas!" Also, the first of these episodes aired the Friday before Mother's Day, and the second aired the following Monday Fandom had a lot of fun waiting
I think my favorite part was the introduction of the McGuffin 'Cartographer's Quill' which, as Scrooge mentioned, leads to the world's greatest treasure. Cue Della at the door; its purpose fulfilled, the quill immediately shattered itself. Also Louie's 'mom...' absolutely broke me... Webby had the perfect reaction to their touching reunion.... Also the heck with their canon names, the triplets are now and forever Jet, Turbo and Rebel. 💖
I do wish the Quill had subtly drawn a map to Della right on the other side of the door from them. It didn't shatter itself, though. Scrooge dropped it as a storytelling device to show the impact of Della's return.
That's Donald's luck for you XD If not this, something else would have gone wrong. But then again, leaving a rocket just like that is dangerous, but Della doesn't think about consequences very much.
It was at this point when the show truly had me trapped. Or, more accurately, I'm free to leave whenever, but I don't want to. Webby at that moment was extremely accurate to my mood.
11:28 have you seen the videos of astronauts after coming back to earth? It's hilarious. They just casually drop what's in their hands all the time because they keep expecting the object to just float there, and then get all confused when it just drops
With Donald's speech impediment, no one would get confused between him saying Jet, Turbo, and Rebel. It's also true with the names Donald gave them Hubert, Dewford, and Llewellyn. Bad luck that their nicknames all sound alike.
See this is why I LOVE rewatching this with people who have never seen it. Especially diehard historians of the Duck comics, because while she was still in space in the comics, she never returned.
I’m so glad you got to see the reunion of Della and her children ^^. Yes things were rocky but it’s wonderful for the triplets to finally have their mother back and show the traits they got from Della.
I love how she's all "NOTHING CAN STOP DELLA DUCK!!!" The Scrooge shouts, and her expression is IMMEDIATELY one of "Oh shit! Nothing except for my uncle." The one thing that CAN stop Della Duck... Uncle Scrooge.
@@Halostown She’s a great mother. She loves her kids, wants the best for them, and is willing to listen, learn, and adapt to best look after them. No one starts parenting being perfect at everything, but Della’s ability to unconditionally love her kids is what makes her a good mum.
