Perfect way to write an awesome bottle episode. Use the fact that everyone is in the same place to stress them out and have them confront ongoing problems face to face. Very well written
Scrooge getting blamed for Della's incredibly selfish decision is frustrating. At least the triplets have an excuse for not thinking straight. Webby and Ms Beakley should just stay out of it though. Especially Beakley should possess the emotional maturity to realize why Scrooge is lashing out. Her not trying to protect Webby is weird. Her blaming Scrooge even after the flight is even weirder. Duckworth abandoning Scrooge when he needs him the most for no apparent reason is just the icing on the cake. Can't blame Scrooge for feeling betrayed by everyone.
this episode is probably the second most heartbreaking episode of DuckTales, the finale is even more heartbreaking at times. no spoilers from me as to why
I honestly still think it was almost all della's fault Like scrooge wanted to gift that rocket to her But she couldn't even wait the tests!!! Also I was about to make a spoiler but I'm waiting that episode in season 3
@Zach Bartolo YES!!! EXACTLY I found so many people who are like But she was young and dumb SHE WAS ABOUT TO BE A MOTHER WITH NO HUSBAND THAT WE KNOW ABOUT AND HER CLOSER RELATIVES ONE WAS NOT OKAY WITH THE IDEA AT ALL like I understand why people say it's Scrooge fault in part, but at the same time Did he make her climb the rocket? No Did he gift her the rocket without testing it? No Did he make her start the rocket into a spacial storm? Hell no! So people need to chill over the fact they Della Is at fault And honestly shouldn't deserve the title of mom Since the only person who broke their back to bring up this kids is Donald Who could have left them with Scrooge or to other relatives or an orphanage! But he didn't He bring them up all by himself And the kids seems pretty happy to me Also they literally have all they want Like sure not a lot of toys But they got phones, they got their interest and they are not criminals What Della did? Make all her family broke apart because Donald didn't speak to Scrooge for almost eleven years! Let me rephrase it Donald didn't speak for over a decade to his kinda father figure! (Sorry I'm trying not to put spoilers and I get very excited to explain my opinion on Della)
yeah and I kinda don't understand that in the show now that she's back it's as if scrooge likes her better than Donald. Like scrooge always comments about him being a mooching slob when Donald took care of DELLA'S KIDS while she was gone and scrooge couldn't even think about the situation without feeling guilty. Now that she's back she's literally in the same boat as Donald which is unemployed living off of scrooge's income yet he's still treats Donald like shit. I know Donald hasn't had his best moments in the show but he has done a lot for the family and he deserve WAY more respect in my book.
I think Donald really doesn't get the credit he deserves. I mean think about it: He dedicated his life to raising and protecting three children since birth all the while grieving the loss of his twin sister AND being constantly subjected to bad luck which, among other things, subjected him to bodily harm on a daily basis and denied him any job for long.
10:59...anybody else realize...this wasn't Huey thinking, that was just pure emotion there since flying through and being called back would still require della to fly through the storm...either way is dangerous, and huey would know that
YES!!! THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!! Edit: sorry I commented about this on the episode mama was first mentioned and forgot when the story was told oops (also I can’t wait for the Della episode you know which one)
In your DuckTales Finale Reaction, I will post my Top 10 Favorite Episodes of Season 1 in the comments. Keep in mind that they're my personal picks; so please be respectful.
To this day I still think Della's a near complete fault. All Scrooge did was build the Rocket. Della went a stole it, putting herself at risk, and Scrooge is getting the blame thrown at him. It's even more crushing is that the boys thought he didn't do anything to help and he did EVERYTHING and still lost her. It's just really unfair to Scrooge.
Agree! He built the rocket but he didn't make Della take it. If Della knew Scrooge would have supported her, she wouldn't have go behind his back. But she did, AND took the test fly. It's not her fault that she got to the storm, but she had no business taking the rocket in the first place. Donald blamed Scrooge and took the boys from his life. Now the boys blame him and leave. This is so unfair.
Also the rocket was experimental and was for a family trip. Della stole it when it was still in its testing phase and she went on her own. The rocket wasn’t made for a solo expedition.
We see in season 2 that the rocket can fly with only one person in it, the number of people travelling in the rocket has nothing to do with the accident. The cause is a cosmic storm, not the fact that Della was alone in the rocket.
@@taliaaytch4753 TVTropes is wrong, the rocket is big enough to contain all the family, but one person can fly it alone. It's like a car : you can put several people in it, but you can also drive it alone.
So, I know this episode is emotional, but... "Uncle Scrooge! We're worried about our safety!" and "MRS. BEAKLEY! Sorry, just thought I could keep the blame circle going" are the best and funniest lines in this episode
I am glad you got so emotionally attached to this. Sadly I did not, I like the show but I wanted to feel it like you when I saw this episode. Insted my reaction was more like "Oh okay so that is why". Not a "Oh wow I can´t belive that´s the reason". I blame my inner bias towards this show even if it has proven to be a good show.

this has to be one of the only episodes that Disney has ever made that has really hit home for me 😔✌️ but don’t worry, everything gets better🥺
Poor Scrooge has a fear of another family member getting lost. He just wants to keep his family safe.
This whole episode just cements how powerful Dewy's characterarc was in the first season. It's incredible we got to see it so early on
I don't know if you remember but donald and scrooge were arguing for the spear of Selene in the very first episode in Atlantis and now we know why ;)
This episode is so freaking sad. I feel for the triplets but Scrooge really tried! 😭😭😭😭 Della, I love you but your choice was detrimental to your family.
She didn't know she would be lost. A lot of people react as if she had intended to leave the boys, but of course not ; it was an accident and she did all she could to come back.
@@cinemaniac6599A trip to space wouldn’t be quick. She meant to leave them just not as for as long as she ended up leaving them for. But you can’t really defend her here. Yes, Scrooge built the ship but we know him, knowing he doesn’t like wasting money he probably would’ve spent a good amount of time to make sure the ship is tested. She stole it and left without telling anyone.
@@paige8453 She meant to leave them for a few hours only.
@@cinemaniac6599 surely she’s not that stupid. You can’t just leave and go into space for a few hours. Plus as I said the ship hadn’t even been tested yet. She stole the ship for purely selfish reasons.
You didn't really watch the show. Of course you can go into space for just a few hours, it's Ducktales.
The way Scrooge says, "I am." at the end really chokes me up.
Della learned everything she knew about parenting from watching anime.
Fun fact: the last shot in this episode is the same exact image that Scrooge McDuck was first introduced with back in the original Donald Duck comics (and this is back before he was ever given a voice, so this is before Mickey's Christmas Carol).
Wtf I’m really early, all thx to discord notifs
And Zamber looking fabulous as usual, after this the season will get better
Those final few minutes are..... whoo. Rough. When this show wants to hit those feels it does it very well. Looking forward to that finale now though. Ooh boy.
I love Donald he is a great Father figure he manges to create a happy and Loving home even do he's All most pennyless, and the way just lets Them in without presureing Them to talk before they ready he's so great
It still hits like a truck straight to the feels...
4:42 You didn't really crash the plane as much as ... perch it.
Welcome to the more complex colors in the rainbow of emotions that is Ducktales 2017.
13:26-Be careful what you wish for Zamber. Be careful what you wish for. 😔
“This is a family matter, you aren’t family”
Dam dagger to the heart for poor Webby😭
Those vultures who dragged Scrooged away from the airplane desktop are huge jerks! How do you people not see that this man the richest duck in the world was willing to lose all of his money if that meant his grand-kids could finally meet their mom! Are you telling me those birds don’t care if those children will never see their mom! If anything blame those vultures for the triplets mom going missing!
Omg this is one of my favourite most saddest episode in ducktales✌️
He was so happy talking bout Della and then it got so sad :(
Love how the Sunchaser stands as symbolism orthe family. It's stable, but begins to head down and the tension begins- they fall apart as the plabe falls down. Love this episode and all it's glorious angs packed into it.
And BONUS fun fact: David Tennant did *ALL* his voice work for Scrooge in this episode in one go.
I’ve seen this episode a thousand times and I ALWAYS cry
After I saw this episode the first time, I was depressed for a long time until I saw the finale . I still haven’t had the courage the full episode again , until now .
Oh boy, here we go everyone 😢
"this is a family matter, you are mot family"
You can hear the heart of many fans breaking at unison eveytime someone plays this scene
Unless they watched the series finale, in that case they are laughing like hyaenas
When I first watched the episode it made me cry for 10 minutes straight
same
I was in shock a whole week
OOOOOOH NO THIS ONE this episode is real sad 😞
It’s integral
Looking forward to your reaction of the finale of this awesome season. Make sure to keep watching till the very end.
Perfect way to write an awesome bottle episode. Use the fact that everyone is in the same place to stress them out and have them confront ongoing problems face to face. Very well written
Next is shadow war zamber prepare yourself a storms coming.
Zamber it's crazy to think you've come so far I remember when you had 20k subs I'm so proud of you you are THE best reaction channel 😊😊
The episode I always get the most excited in seeing people react to. It’s sooo good!
this episode is probably the second most heartbreaking episode of DuckTales, the finale is even more heartbreaking at times. no spoilers from me as to why
I honestly still think it was almost all della's fault
Like scrooge wanted to gift that rocket to her
But she couldn't even wait the tests!!!
Also I was about to make a spoiler but I'm waiting that episode in season 3
@Zach Bartolo YES!!! EXACTLY
I found so many people who are like
But she was young and dumb
SHE WAS ABOUT TO BE A MOTHER WITH NO HUSBAND THAT WE KNOW ABOUT AND HER CLOSER RELATIVES ONE WAS NOT OKAY WITH THE IDEA AT ALL
like I understand why people say it's Scrooge fault in part, but at the same time
Did he make her climb the rocket? No
Did he gift her the rocket without testing it? No
Did he make her start the rocket into a spacial storm? Hell no!
So people need to chill over the fact they Della Is at fault
And honestly shouldn't deserve the title of mom
Since the only person who broke their back to bring up this kids is Donald
Who could have left them with Scrooge or to other relatives or an orphanage!
But he didn't
He bring them up all by himself
And the kids seems pretty happy to me
Also they literally have all they want
Like sure not a lot of toys
But they got phones, they got their interest and they are not criminals
What Della did?
Make all her family broke apart because Donald didn't speak to Scrooge for almost eleven years!
Let me rephrase it
Donald didn't speak for over a decade to his kinda father figure!
(Sorry I'm trying not to put spoilers and I get very excited to explain my opinion on Della)
@Zach Bartolo Yeah, it's her fault. But she's gone so people blame the person who couldn't save/stop her.
True.
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
yeah and I kinda don't understand that in the show now that she's back it's as if scrooge likes her better than Donald.
I mean think about it:
He dedicated his life to raising and protecting three children since birth all the while grieving the loss of his twin sister AND being constantly subjected to bad luck which, among other things, subjected him to bodily harm on a daily basis and denied him any job for long.
When you know zamber is gonna cry the next episode:
Uh oh-
10:59...anybody else realize...this wasn't Huey thinking, that was just pure emotion there
since flying through and being called back would still require della to fly through the storm...either way is dangerous, and huey would know that
thats a good point, for all anyone knew Della might well have been almost out of the storm when the last bolt hit the ship
YES!!! THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!
Edit: sorry I commented about this on the episode mama was first mentioned and forgot when the story was told oops (also I can’t wait for the Della episode you know which one)
Emotions everywhere! 🥺
Oh! This episode... woo-oo 😭
Yeah,........this episode is quite easily the most heart wrenching episode in the entire series so far........
Hey, Zamber! It’s me, Eloi$a the person who took 36 minutes drawing fan art for you
Heh... The Maltese McGuffin. Don't think I ever really noticed that before.
This episode was crazy 😜.
In your DuckTales Finale Reaction, I will post my Top 10 Favorite Episodes of Season 1 in the comments. Keep in mind that they're my personal picks; so please be respectful.
I can’t wait for you to react to the season 1 finale where we Are introduced to the villainess of ducktales
OOOH WE’RE IN PANIC MODE
11:16 Are you sure about that Scrooge?
The ending was emotional damage. Even Timephoon had emotional damage towards the end when Della grounds Louie after nearly destroying time and space.
Can't wait to see your reactions to the finale and season 2!
Mathieu Nicod I was just saying what I saw on TVTropes. The rocket was made for a family trip and it wasn’t fully finished.
I GOT THE TISSUES FAM, WHO NEEDS SOME???
I am glad you got so emotionally attached to this. Sadly I did not, I like the show but I wanted to feel it like you when I saw this episode. Insted my reaction was more like "Oh okay so that is why". Not a "Oh wow I can´t belive that´s the reason". I blame my inner bias towards this show even if it has proven to be a good show.
All it's left is the finale
We're in the End Game now.
WHO’S HERE FOR THE CHAOS !!!!!
Scrooge McDuck:It Was Just Before You Were Hatched. Your Mother, Your Uncle Donald, And I Had Been Going On Amazing Adventures For Years, And Things Were Grand. Except We'd Been Just About Everywhere. Ever The Aviator, Your Mother Devised A Plan To Explore The Greatest Uncharted Territory Of All: Outer Space.
Huey Dewey And Louie Duck: (ALL GASPING)
Scrooge McDuck: Della Had Already Been All Over The Earth. She Wanted Give You Boys The Stars. Donald Thought It Was Too Risky, Especially With You Three On The Way. So I Did The Only Logical Thing: I Built The Rocket And Didn't Tell Donald... Or Anyone. It Was Meant To Be A Surprise For Della To Celebrate Your Birth. But Your Mother Was Always Good At Sniffing Out Surprises. She Found The Rocket And Decided To Go For A Little Test Run In Orbit. Neither Of Us Could Have Predicted That Cosmic Storm. But We Knew A Little Pangalactic Precipitation Wouldn't Stop Her. After All, She Was Della Duck! Curse Me Kilts, Was That Girl Stubborn! I Tried To Talk Her Through It, Thought If Anyone Could Make It, It Was Her. Until That Very Last Bolt. I Couldn't Keep Her Safe. The Rocket And Your Mother Were Lost To The Inky Abyss Of Space. Your Uncle Donald And I Never Spoke Again. Until You Three Showed Up On My Doorstep.
Dewey Duck: Cool. So You're The Reason Our Mom Is Gone.
Scrooge McDuck: What? No! I..
Launchpad McQuack:Um, Guys?
Dewey Duck: You Built Her A Crazy-Dangerous Super-Rocket!
Scrooge McDuck: Which She Stole Early!
Huey Duck:Then You Encouraged Her To Keep Flying Through A Cosmic Storm?! You Could Have Called Her Down! There Were Too Many Variables!
Mrs.Beakley:Now, Boys, You Don't Know...
Louie Duck: And You're The Richest Duck In The World! Why Didn't You Send Up More Ships To Look For Her?!
Scrooge McDuck: I Spared No Expense!
Dewey Duck: Yeah, Right. Cheap Old Scrooge Probably Bailed As Soon As It Put A Dent In His Money Bin.
Launchpad McQuack:Um, Guys?
Webby VanderQuack: Take It Easy, Dewey. He May Have A Point. Even If Gifting An Experimental Rocket To A Mother Of Three Was Clearly A Terrible Idea!
Scrooge McDuck: This Is A Family Matter. You Are Not Family!
Mrs.Beakley: See Here, McDuck. You Will Not Speak To My Granddaughter That Way.
Scrooge McDuck: You Will Not Speak To Me That Way! None Of You! After Everything I Do For You, You're All Nothing But Trouble!
Launchpad McQuack: Guys! (Over P.A.) This Is Your Captain Speaking! We Are Falling! Huh. That Was Weird. Phew! There We Go!
Donald Duck:Back So Soon? Well, Ta-Da! She's All Done! Uhh. What Happened To You?
Dewey Duck:We Know About The Spear Of Selene.
Donald Duck:Oh.
Louie Duck: Let's Go Back To The Marina.
Donald Duck:-Huh? Uh! Ohh!
Webby VanderQuack: Isn't He Even Going To Say Goodbye?
Mrs.Beakley: We're Taking Those Vacation Days. If That's All Right With You, Sir.
Scrooge McDuck: Fine.
Mrs.Beakley: Well, You've Successfully Pushed Your Family And Everyone Who Cared About You Away. Again. I Hope You're Happy.
Louie Duck: You're The Richest Duck In The World! Why Didn't You Send Up More Ships To Look For Her?!
Huey Duck:Then You Encouraged Her To Keep Flying Through A Cosmic Storm?! You Could Have Called Her Down! There Were Too Many Variables!
Dewey Duck: So You're The Reason Our Mom Is Gone. Cheap Old Scrooge Probably Bailed As Soon As It Put A Dent In His Money Bin.
Mrs.Beakley: Well, You've Successfully Pushed Your Family And Everyone Who Cared About You Away. Again. I Hope You're Happy.
Scrooge McDuck: I Am.
This wasn't Scrooge 's fault, it was Della's fault. The boys were too naive to understand that and too stubborn
Scrooge shares the blame, he built the rocket.
@@cinemaniac6599 Della was dumb enough to steal it
