Pista or 600LT? Which would you take home?
Pista without a doubt
The McLaren... no way I could push either to its limits consistently, so the one with the best feel wins!
Pista Spider....the looks and been looked.
600LT. Those exhausts have already won me.
None of them, i'll take a 911 :)
As the title suggests Chris should be running on his feet
LOL
Great one

@jon doe I get that C&H reference man!
😂 nice

@jon doe how was it horrible?

“The Mclaren windscreen is 2mm thinner, to save 1500grams”
Also Mclaren, our windscreens are cracking and need to be replaced...
It's related to the bounding material rather than the windscreen on itself.
The same for Ferrari, with the 458 Italia per exemple

@jon doe Oh please, he's a much better driver than any of the host from that certain Amazon show.
@Truthisstrangerthan Fiction spot on but well choreographed action!

@jon doe You do realize that Chris Races professionally on occasion? He has a gift from god when it comes to driving. Matt is good, but Chris can post some pretty up there lap times with some of the worlds best racing drivers

Ferrari: Passes in the biggest cloud of smoke in a perfect drift
Exactly. What a joke???!!!
Chris Harris: I'm being more entertained in here.
Ferrari driver sideways while overtaking him: really??
...I like him, but is beyond clear that he doesn't like Ferrari simply because it's a Ferrari... Totally biased. Don't like that... It's a waste of time and money.
@@Giuliano_Capecchi_SF perfect response from someone with your last name... lol
Giuliano Capecchi First time ever hearing Harris is Ferrari hater. He exposed Ferrari factually as a brand but that doesn’t mean he hates the cars. Everyone knows he is a Porsche and BMW fan boy, but don’t forget he traded his GT3RS 4.0 for a Ferrari and he has owned Ferrari FF as well. A Ferrari hater wouldn’t sacrifice a GTR3S 4.0 for a 599.
@@mikeypark2917 good point. I like Ferraris and won't hide that. But I appreciate when the test driver is honest and "impartial". In this case I sensed some lack of argument to support his point. Anyway, not saying that all F are faster or anyway better than Porsches or McLarens... Thanks for sharing! ... In my particular opinion, I think this car is a Masterpiece, because it can keep the pace of a 720s, having a more traditional, less extreme chassis and much more "maintainable" over time... (Carbon fiber chassis is much more unpredictable over time... Cracks, fatigue etc....)
@jon doe LMAO he undeniably is one of the very best car journalists out there

@O 99 mclaren are crap!
@O 99 for what? Telling the truth mclaren are complete garbage,.. They can't even make they're engine, and BTW their carbon parts are also made in Italy by a company that also do for many brands.
@O 99 their 3,8 engine win 4 years consecutive the best engine of the year,.. Porsche, Mercedes all brands take components made in other nation or maybe better "in Europe" especially between Italy and Germany, but the most brand that actually doesn't build almost nothing by himself is mclaren they are the top notch, even transmissions.... Ferrari build almost everything by himself and if other components come from outside its really difficult that are from Germany but probably something is.. Lamborghini in other hand not really half but definitely is budget yes that one come from Germany and they are quite happy to have it since it grow a lot.! I don't know what could say for Aston Martin they are in a terrible situation I love their cars and style better than mclarens!
@O 99 I don't think so... Laf vs p1 depends on who drive as always i wouldn't never trust British comparisons they are like Americans everything that come from another country isn't good as them, on the other hand Germans are more fair.
@O 99 what??? Lmao I never saw Italians doing that, simply because we don't need to prove nothing but on the other hand British need always to prove themselves above the others mclaren is born to be the non Italian Ferrari, their constant is to be like a Ferrari, Americans.. Better say nothing they made even a movie were they beat Ferrari, but in comparison they're aren't even close to the same amount of Championship, come on case closed.

Pista costs 350k the 600lt cost 250k, the 720s cost 320k I will take the 720s
@@zerohour2703 the 720 is an animal, but between the two in this video I'd take the Pista
@Steven Ross-watt that's one person's opinion. Lots of people have driven both. Plus, you shouldn't make up your opinion based on one person's opinion.
@Steven Ross-watt poor Who decides based on on the looks
@Steven Ross-watt yeah there doesn't need to be a "versus" though. You should consider all opinions and create your own. I'm looking at getting a BMW m4 and have done a ton of research and heard many opinions negative and positive. But I still won't form my own until I drive it myself
When Chris says the Ferrari is not his choice and chooses a McLaren over it for pure driving pleasure something is terribly wrong!
Yeah like the Pista completely outperforms the 600LT both on a track and on a straight line, it's extremely comunicative and easy to drive, it's almost perfect! The Mclaren might be wonderful to drive, but so is the Ferrari and the Ferrari is a lot faster
McLaren paid chris...
McLaren is British just like him, guys he prefers what's more familiar, thats his taste, he knows the Pista is faster and better but the 600LT is cooler IMO
He’s driven both and he has his preferences
People have different tastes. He didn’t necessarily say he thinks the Mclaren is a better car. He just likes the way it drives better
The 600LT will never give you the pleasure that you'd get from simply looking at th Ferarri
So True
Two different cars for two different types of car guys. One's for rich passionate car enthusiasts and the other for track focused car enthusiasts
I’m a Ferrari man for life. That Pista is gorgeous
@O 99 still has a distinct look, unlike McLarens they all look the same for years cant distinguish which model is which?? They all have the same dam front.
@O 99 Are you shrink wrapped?!! Ferraris literally go up in value where McLarens drop their value faster than they go 0-60. What do you mean they age better?!! If they aged better they would go up in value.
@O 99 If they age better why dont they go up in value? They drop their value faster than any other supercar brand..........
@O 99 That doesn't sound as a car that"ages better". And I'm not hollow head you simply didn't word it correctly. You said they age better meaning the whole car, you never said their "look" ages better. You implied "they" age better meaning the whole car so you're the hollow one here.
@O 99 no that has nothing to do with it. They all look generic and drive generic. The F1 went up in value why? Not because it's an old classic brand no. It went up in value because it looks different and most importantly it drives different. The modern McLarens all look and drive the same.
Ferrari is king the end.....
What does that mean
Did you forgot 720s😂
I love it how Ferrari shunned Chris Harris early in his career because he wrote an honest review, but now they have had to cave and give him cars to review. Go Chris😁

Hi girl me
I feel like he's been sponsored by Mclaren or something. He tested both cars and proves that the Ferrari's a better Supercar, but still picks the Mclaren. Might be associated with the typical British nationalism.
Do you drive for pleasure? or the piece of paper to say you did the fastest lap?
My car has 800hp and pulls 1.4g's constant in cornering, my wifes has 200hp and pulls 1.3g's cornering. Yeah mines faster and lap times are WAY lower. But id rather take my wifes car because its lighter, more nimble and A LOT more fun to hook into the corners, plus you don't spend half your time on the brakes trying to wash off the speed.
Most supercars are just way too fast these days theres no need and nobody who buys them is using them to their potential. So who's actually faster anyway? The guy who knows more about cars and picks the car that gives him the most rewarding drive and who actually drives real race cars and knows his shit? or the rich dude that would crash if he turned the traction control off?
Typical British nationalism? How about typical world based Brit bashing. Rattled your cage that the uk makes great cars doesn’t it?

Well, Chris, that rather contradicts what you said in your 650S review, wherein you stated that the 650S would compete against the 458's successor--the 488 GTB. The 488 Pista is Ferrari's long awaited response to the 675LT. The F8 Tributo is the upcoming response to the 720S. Ferrari takes its sweet time, yes, but it's hard to argue with the results.

The Pista will destroy the lower tier McLaren's. The Pista already struggles against a stock 720s, so when the 720LT comes out it's going to smoke the Pista.
765 is the successor and will destroy the Pista
This is why I love McLaren so much. They have to build an all new car just to compete with Ferrari, because the car they originally made, was just too good.
Ferrari would only allow comparison to another car that is down 120 horsepower. They will NEVER approve comparing their car to any strong competing cars. In other words, don't expect that we will ever see 488 Pista vs McLaren 750LT next year. Ferrari will sue and threaten any owners and publications who do it. Sue all publication and TH-cam channel for damages. Threaten owners that they will never buy any Ferrari again in the future.
And with a little tuning on the 600LT it can be made, on the cheap, as fast as the 488
Ferrari is simply the best. I love the 488 Pista so much.
Just feels so unnatural to see Chris doing these bits for TV. I'm disappointed this wasn't a 'Chris Harris Drives' comparison test.
Armando Alves he’ll do one on each car or maybe together on his online top gear car review show. Keep an eye out and it’ll show up soon very likely. This is the TV bit not the TH-cam bit
Agreed, this over scripted format doesn't do any justice to his talent. Then there's also a degree of hypocrisy when one considers how the man himself made it known that he wasn't that interested in supercars anymore.
It's interesting how TG seems completely unable to move away from Clarkson's style of reviews, when Clarkson himself chose not to pursue them anymore with the The Grand Tour.
This one is done to satisfy us yanks that want to see drifting and smoke haha.
I took a good look at the 600LT recently (did a little review too) and I love it. It's just perfect.
I'm a simple man...I see the name "Chris Harris" on a car video, and I click.
The Pista is vastly superior to anything McLaren offers, including the Senna, 720S or the 600LT.
People were criticizing Ferrari for taking so much time to bring a 458 Speciale successor, but in all honesty they did an amazing job.
First the look of the car is stunning, then the engine has little lag, then it sounds great, the aerodynamics is phenomenal with little drag, the amount of down force and speed in corners is unheard of in a road car, but at the same time is a fun and easy car to drive, it can even be used every day.
The 600LT is great by McLaren standards, but it’s nowhere near to the Pista.
And btw the Pista has broke many road car records too.
It’s unbelievable what Ferrari achieved there . . .
Well now McLaren have the 765 which eats the pista
The Ferrari has an Italian license plate which leads me to think it was brought to the review with a full engineering team
And mclaren with british number plates..soo..maybe it means something also 😂
Alekos Alekou @ don’t forget it was on their development track 💁♂️
That’s the thing! Do any of you remember the old top gears mp4-12c vs the 458 ? Jeremy does like the 458 better because it’s more entertaining but Chris Harris likes mclaren more in this case .... I really think that’s the fundamental difference between Chris Harris and Jeremy clarkson ! One is concise and efficient and the other is brash and flamboyant.... and I am not saying one is necessarily better than the other .... but I like the fact that I live in a world where both exists !
Yes exactly. Even in fifth gear, they loved the 458 over McLaren because they felt more connected.
Pista. No need to worry about the car plummeting in value. It might even be an investment.
Like all the special editions of their V8s they do become a great investment...because they make very few of them...under 1 thousand.
Usually anywhere between 500 and 700.
Thing is you gotta buy them when they hit bottom (around 70k €) then hold on to them for a long long time...which gets expensive because you gotta service them regularly even if you don't put miles on them.
I have a friend who does just that.
Can Ferrari like do some serious mileage and still be good?
But Chris Harris tells you that those 65,000 pounds are not worth it man! haha. Ofc I agree with you and Chris is a bit biased not to mention what a better investment of your money is that Pista with those extra 65,000 pounds... you pay extra for the extra value. Simple as that. Pista is going to have a mighty value for years to come. McLaren LT will plummet as you very well said.
Matija Grabovac absolutely. With regular check-ups they can do many miles without problems. Granted, the owners don't use them much, but I've seen a lot of F430 s with 70-80 k kms still running perfectly.
@@zeusus12 They will run better if you drive them regularly than if you let them sit in a garage. And modern Ferraris (458 onwards) are apparently quite reliable. The resale value probably takes a dive if you get too many miles on it though.
i just want the old top gear back

FYI the McLaren is 592hp & the Ferrari around 710hp the 720S should be compared to the Pista not the 600lt

it's biased towards Ferrari. 600LT doesnt even compete witht he Pista.
More connected and better drivers car? Tell that to the boys at sport auto. Pista is nearly 9secs faster around the ring than the LT
Lap times are exactly what "more connected" and "driver's car" don't mean.
Reminds me of old Top Gear presentations with Clarkson; entertaining but very scripted. Personally, I think Harris is best when left mostly to his own designs.
but clarkson had skill from experience... chris just from his stunt driving.... it a car show.... i take what i can...
But the McLaren has billionaire doors. The PIsta with a novitec kit is godly looking and sounding
600LT is one of my favorite new cars. Love to see a 720 GTR or LM smack the pista and go to Lemans though!
5:03 I love that moment
3:27 I mean.. It's really not, but.. ok I guess
This editing and presenting style feels so contrived. Chris works way better when he's not reading from a script designed for Jeremy, James, or Richard.
Is this even a competition???
Like seriously?
Put the Pista is race mode instead of drift mode and it would pass the 600 LT much sooner.
Still not a good as the ‘Chris Harris on cars’ videos.

Last year I passed up on buying a McLaren 12c and went for an almost new Porsche 991.2 Carrera. My budget was not more than 120k USD, preferably staying below 100k. I am completely taken by the looks of every McLaren model but reports of very poor reliability and repairs costing tens of thousands forced my more practical self to the safer sports car option. I'm watching the newer designs hoping to learn they have improved in overall cost of ownership. If that happens we'll return to this subject in a few years. The 570s being the likely candidate for me. Thanks for the excellent video.
