Trying to sleep on the couch in our hospital room the night before my daughter was born, was the most anxiety I've ever felt. I watched the birth from start to finish and helped my wife during pushing, so many scary factors during the birth. Once my daughter was born and I held her for the first skin to skin contact, all anxiety went out the window. Keep your chin up, new dad's.

I oftentimes get so into my head that I just completely freeze up and have crippling anxiety. Getting out of the house and going on a walk with the dog definitely helps. You're right though about not making excuses and taking responsibility over the things we can control.

Just found out today that my wife is pregnant with our first. The initial joy as turned into panic. I am university educated but the profession i studied has high competition and does not pay well and I am wondering how I am going to pay for this baby. I am even thinking of joining the navy because the pay is double what I am on at the minute.

For first time dads, when your wife/girlfriend is going into labor, one of the plethora of things a man should bring to the hospital... a blanket. I underestimated how cold a hospital can get.

I've been trying to find ways to improve myself in life. I want to enhance my career and become a project manager, or be a more advanced programmer. But, it feels like the opportunities I have to do so at work are nonexistent. And the time to do these things at home doesn't exist. What should I do?

#6: communication.... nope as a man you gotta own and deal and never tell your worries to your pregnant other half., she's dealing with 100000x more issues so you better find a way to process that away from her to be the best support you can be for her and never show your worry
