I am glad to have met you and the way you ended this video really got me! “You are here cause you care.” Awesome! I am 26yrs and my daughter Cecília is coming this Friday! Three days from now! Our first baby is due any day now. So many of these videos have been a great help to just focus on what I need to do as a dad. I'm assuming a lot will come through instinct but these videos are a good top up
Hello Dads to be. I'm new in the club. Las night my wife gave me the FANTASTIC news of the coming of our first child. I couldn't sleep last night of excitement. I am experimenting mixture of feelings. Not overwhelmed yet, but feeling that something in me and my wife is different, good different. I hope I can share with you what I'm going through and get to know your thoughtful experiences as well. Great channel.
My son was actually adopted without my knowledge, or consent upon birth. I ended up getting my rights back to my son, and won sole custody of him. I am only twenty years old and I’m just now having the chance to raise my son who is now going to be one year and four months old when I get him in October 22’. Thank you for this video!
Not a new dad but it's been almost 7 years since I delt with a new born and your videos already helped alot.... and helped me remember and realize alot of important things and aspects of having a new born and bringing them home and not stressing so much and allowed me to have the confidence that is needed.
This has been the best advice ever! Thank you so god damn much man! I really truly appreciate it so much! I’m so excited for all the little moments and little laughs! Next Wednesday and we’re going in for an induction to meet our first ever daughter! And first ever baby! I’m so excited but so nervous! We’re prepared for everything else but I’m so nervous of what to do!

I just messed up big time with my toddler son and I was so down. After I thought I was doing everything right and somehow I just forgot the most important thing to do. Watching this video definitely helped me in starting to feel better. Especially, when you expounded on point #4. SO WELL APPRECIATED.
Just had our first baby this morning via c section. Everything went smooth and mom and baby are resting. Your videos have help SO MUCH the past few months. Just want to say thank you. Will definitely continue watching them as she grows up. I think the 2 things I'm most surprised about is 1- how much she sleeps! And 2- how wonky it is to actually pick up a newborn. Practice makes perfect I suppose!
My son turns one tomorrow and familiarity cannot be understated. Taken him on a total 5 drives total drive time probably under 2 hours and. The last two times he has had a total freak out.

We are about 1 week away from our daughter joining us. I am definitely excited to be able to able to bond with my daughter and establish a great friendship. My dad was not involved when I was growing up. For some reason, this has had me wondering if "I have what it takes". I think that is possibly from me simply not having those father/son memories. I am hoping that my wife and I can give our daughter a happy and healthy home as well as all the tools to succeed in this world.
Dude. I have the same issue. I'm 22 and for the past 3-4 years I've highly doubted myself and wondered if I have what it takes to succeed and be a man in this current society. I grew up without my maternal dad up until about 11 years old, having my mother's boyfriends to be a kind of dad figure, some did better than others. I then proceeded to meet him, get to know him a bit and then moved in. roughly 9 years later im 22, married and recently found out we're expecting. My point is I'm glad to see there's someone who would understand me. I hope i bring you similar peace
Been watching the channel for a few years on and off I’m 24 and me and my girlfriend are expecting our first child, I’m scared as hell but these videos are definitely helping me through it
Thanks man, these videos are great. Having my second child by the end of this year, and I really wish I had known of you during my first. Thank you. Having a second child is much easier from the "know what to expect" perspective. However they are all unique. Congrats and glad we are now along the journey with you!
40 here brother, greatest feeling of my life, especially not having had a father part of mine. In the end, if we focus on our child and commit to being present with them, we dads will figure everything else out with time. But can’t deny this looming first month is a little terrifying!

great video. Empathy is neutral though, the word you are looking for is compassion. that is when you say "yea that sucks." People mess this up ALL the time so not a big deal.
According to the definitions, the differences are compassion involves the desire to help. I'm not seeing that with saying "yeah that sucks". I'm open to learning just not able to confirm what you mentioned.

I’ve found out recently that me and my wife are expecting and these tips are great, but I have a problem with comprehending my wife’s rants/issues. How do you recommend understanding when your partner is asking for advice or wanting a listener? I have a problem with trying to find a solution for everything and it makes her upset that I’m trying to explain what the issue was or I acknowledge her but don’t give her a solution when she wanted one? It’s really frustrating and I would like help.
