Bought my Sierra in 2015, and just gave it a service after seeing a Deering video on maintenance. I live in the Spanish Sierra Nevada, everything is metric here, so I had to modify a 6 millimetre socket to tighten the truss rod, which proved well worth doing. I really appreciate the quality of build, the materials and the SOUND ! Thank you Deering, good job !
I can imagine that many non banjo people who experience Jen's incredible eclectic style for the first time must be given pause and rethink the musical capacity of the instrument. Not to mention the talent behind it.
I bought my Deering Sierra Maple in July 2020. I play it daily, I am getting better, and this banjo is a dream! Every day it delivers a new, pleasant surprise to me. Someday I may even get smooth at making a F chord!
@@DeeringBanjoCo Here we are, 9 months later, and the F chord shape has become an old friend, not just for the F chord, but other chords up the neck as well. My Sierra delivers every day, and my playing has progressed a lot, thanks in part to the Deering LIve shows & the Masterclasses. They are informative, inspiring and always worth the time. Thank you Deering for this incredible, long term customer support! I may not play my Sierra as well as Jens, but I'll bet we are both having the same amount of fun!
@@josephbrosk4384 Well done, sir! I've trained as a classical musician (a pianist) since the age of 5, and I can commend nothing with more sincerity than daily, careful, thoughtful practice. Even if it's only a few minutes each day, if one is patient -- if one thinks in terms of weeks, or months, rather than days, or hours -- one *will* see progress. Great work on that F-shape!
Jens, you are a MASTER Salesman! If I could afford a new banjo.....I would certainly buy one! Thanks for a lesson on Banjos! Who knows, maybe this old lady will all of a sudden get a windfall and will be able to buy one! Keep it up fellow Wilkesboro pal......we are SO proud of you and Uwe!
There's too many variables in producing a video. It sounds great in person. Sounds just as good as the old glory days bluegrass banjos like the Gibsons, but in it's own color.

Jens is an amazing player! He could make a shoebox with strings on it sound good. He sure makes that Sierra sound fantastic!
I obtained my Sierra as a “quarantine” banjo and fell in love at first roll!
Love love LOVE my Deering Sierra Banjo
SSSOOOO great to hear. Thank you for all your support, Paulino! Happy picking.
I love this guy such a brilliant player.
Very nice as always Jens! I have had my Sierra for about 2 weeks now. I love it!
Hey Man How Much Was It I Was Plannin On Buyin One Myself
It’s a nice thing when a player who knows what he’s after finds a banjo company who fulfils it

Nice guy, great musician.
Great sound
I have a Sierra. I bought it in 2015. The instrument is professional...I am not. I play it everyday and enjoy every minute.
Now that I own 2007 Deering Maple Blossom I will never go back to Gibson .
I mean...do TH-cam comments get any better than this one? Pay attention, folks! (Just kidding, but thanks for this. Made our day! )
@DeeringBanjoCo Can someone tell me sound / tone difference between the Maple and the Mahogany? Thanks
Hey there! Maple is typically brighter, while mahogany is a little warmer sounding.
If I buy one do you promise I can play like Jens? Without practicing 8 hours a day
Are there big differences to the eagle II?
Ordered mine a few days ago :-D
How do you like it, Grant?
Now I'm a fan off you.Josef
i love my eagle 2 not a pro banjo but plays very nice
Now I know why my $75 Harmony banjo purchased in 1970 sounds like sh*&^%t. LOL! :) Thank you !!!
Was this the model that replaced the old "Standard" model?
You could make a wheel barrow with strings sound good
On my way to see Greg Deering about this new product idea. Could be fun! :-)
If I buy this, is it really sound as good as ANY other banjo?
Hugh Jantic-Pantz At least from YT videos I think so. Only other clip I’ve heard where the tone seems better is the Calico
