Wavy forehead Que is Back with another one! Man this was one of the most enjoyable videos I've watched in a while both you and Bluprint 1LE coming through with the bangers! Making me feel like I need to come out of retirement and be Reckless RCF again lol. Man from the fan following you in the parking lot, to getting chased by wasps, to you cementing your Hoochie Daddy king status while almost breaking into the 3 second club, this video was extremely enjoyable!
LOL! My car is sitting in the garage confused lke "what's gotten into this guy?" Y'all rubbing off on me. This car man. I should have gotten black. I just knew I would be out there alone. King Hooch is here to stay. Thanks brother.
@@QueTheChaotic You're welcome fam, and yeah man I'm actually really impressed with how well you hooked and booked in that car, cause I just test drove a ZL1 and I couldn't hook for anything, I wonder if your mods on the car made a difference, or if you're just that good of a driver cause it's hard to get good times like that in a ZL1.
@@QueTheChaotic Lol it really is, somehow I see you ultimately trading in your ZL1 either for a 5th Gen Z28 Camaro or a new 2SS 1LE, unless you get bitten by that go fast in a straight line bug lol.
Thanks Que. Now I won't have to play with all those controls. I haven't even been in launch control since i'm under 1,500 miles. When you get old like me, you just chill, cruise and step on it from time to time without getting a ticket, LOL.
😆 you basically described me. I’m at 7000 miles now. I didn’t even do it in my other Camaro. I was curious to know how much better the pros can shift than me
Awesome video bro! From experience, the following might help drop those times: -Lowering your 2-step/launch to around 2000 rpm. The TCS is fighting for grip. -Set the suspension to a soft setting as opposed to a firmer setting. -Drop some pressure in your rear tires. Maybe in 5 psi increments.
@@QueTheChaotic if you're trying to beat C/D times with similar variables, they set tire pressures to manufacturer recs for testing (info that any owner would see in an owners manual or vehicle panel). So lowering the rears makes it less than a head-to-head comparison.
@@QueTheChaotic Don't floor it - hold the gas so the engine hovers around 2500-3000 RPM and practice releasing the clutch while giving it more gas... so it's at the edge of traction without slipping the clutch too much. Lower the tire pressures after a couple of launches, that way the tires warm up and pressures stabilize, no need to do a burnout on a street tire.
I have the A10 and I do 4.0 flat with stock setup and my buddy in his ZL1 1LE and bunch of bolt ons did 3.6 sec in his A10. Need better tires to harness that power!
Que, two words… Milan Dragway. I’ll be more than happy to go there with you. Bluprint would probably be down too. Prepped surface will help and you’ll get some good 1/4 mile times recorded too. My best 1/4 mile in the Fifty convertible is 12.1 and my best 0-60 is 4.1. You should be able to beat both those numbers because you have a lot more power and I think you might also be lighter.
Need a little heat in the tires Que. Nice pull though! Also, for best 0-60 time, I dont think you even have to shift out of 1 gear in this thing. Just wind it out in 1st.
So here’s what’s interesting about the Camaro’s, Chevy recommends using Race mode when on the drag strip for the best times (something with the traction control and differential tuning). However, Race mode uses the stiffest suspension setting (Track), which is not optimal because it increases the chance of wheel hop. If we could use Race mode with Tour suspension setting, that would yield the best results, but sadly we don’t have that option. Chevy should’ve given us a dedicated Drag Mode.
Brooo that dora the explorer joke at the end actually made me laugh out loud, great video man, I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. I ordered my ZL1 same spec as yours back in march and still has yet to come in. I don't know why the transit part takes so long.
I love the fact that it’s not easy. It’s a sports car. I think launching is all about clutch control. Yeah you did great. Drag racing is hard on everything. Ok. So all wheel drive is so awesome? I raced two WRX STI’s on my last track day and it was rainy that day. Guess who won on a wet track?
Thanks! It's not as easy as it looks. I know the computers helped a lot too. That's what I love to hear! I was telling Race Car Friends the SS 1LE should beat the STI on track
Man you better hope that Priest don't find this video after you called him a thief in the night LOL But yeah I'm Team Tires. I agree with the people saying it's the tires. That and your trying on basic roads. You just not in optimum conditions and every thing counts when it comes to zero to second. If you still had the carseats in the backseat I'd even go as far as to remove them as well. Any little bit would help imo. But man if you struggling to hit a 3.9.... I don't even wanna test mines lol if I see a 5 second anything pop up I think I would cry.
LOL!!! He just might find it. I gave him a card! I came so unprepared lol. I had both car seats, lawn chairs, 2 backpacks, all kinds of stuff in the trunk. I think you can get in the 4's! My traction was hard to get. I need to try tour mode.
@@QueTheChaotic LOL see man you was definitely unprepared. I did a run last night. Just one tho and I got a 4.9. I was soooooo happy it wasn't anything with a 5. On my end I left mines in sport mode and I didn't put it in competitive mode or mess with TC. Also my tires are continentals so I think a 4.9 is solid for being so unoptimized.
