Did Cotton effectively Captain America his charge blade shield after he had it spinning in Axe mode? And secondly, I don't have to Hub for upgrade materials. Ex: The weapon I was using in Gen Ult required materials from places that were only available in Hub until I beat the monster and I was bouncing off A LOT, so I went and just did the coal gathering mission mainly looking for the ore there to upgrade, so does that mean that every material I need for upgrades to my weapons and armor are available in the Village?

@@yiangaruga4928 They're semi-sweet, sort of chewy, bouncy balls of rice dough on a stick. I can't really think of anything like them in American cuisine, but if you've ever had asian pan-fried dumplings, dango are about the texture of the outside part, but chewier and sweet instead of savory.

One tip I have is to do the timeless gather missions. Its a great way to learn a map, gather to your hearts content, farm armor sets and whatever else.
While the early access thing was nice of them to offer you guys, I imagine I'm not the only one who wanted to see both of you play through the whole game blind together.
I remember when I first played my first Monster Hunter which was GU, all I did was Hub Quests because I didn't know about the multiplayer balance for the hub and that I was supposed to be doing Village Quests
tip for common courtesy, keep wide sweeping weapons to single-player. Its very easy to trip people up without realizing it when using a long sword, switch axe, or charge blade.
Just a quick correction for anyone who reads this, technically you will need to buy the power and armour charm twice as you can craft a better version (power talon and armour talon) in High Rank but it stacks with the lower version. So you will have powercharm and powertalon, armourcharm and armourtalon. Make sure to save some money for the rebuying of these as when all 4 are stacked it will help a lot.
I'm so glad they gave us the option to skip the Hub Low Rank quests if you have done the Village quests. While I would do them anyway at some point it was such a hard speed bump in GU for example if you went from fighting Valstrax in the High Rank Village quests back to Great Maccao in the Low Rank Hub quests. I hope they keep this system for when Rise gets its G/Master Rank expansion so you can fo from Village High Rank straight to G/Master Rank hub Quests.

@@HitodamaKyrie Ah don't worry, doing them as multiplayer is actually optional. You can just jump into one (without sending a join request) and you'll be on your own. You have to actively want people to join your game for them to do so (either with said join requests or by making/joining a lobby)
Wait what, you can PICK your food buffs now? That's amazing! RIP random food buffs, you shall not be missed, assuming I'm reading how that system works right
You can pick your food buffs in world too if you manually select your ingredients. The only exception are the 3 daily skills that switch with every hunt. But those get replaced as you select ingredient buffs.
@@shinon748 I have yet to be able to get Moxie and Safeguard in the same set of foods. I usually just go with the Healthy platter for moxie and leave it at that. xD
@@adakahless Moxies nice, but I'd rather go for either the straight stat boost and or insurance due to never having moxie actually activate during a hunt. Then again I run with a heal cat in world who is my personal moxie.
@@adakahless Moxie and Safeguard each require six ingredients of their color to activate in World, so that's why you can't get both of them. Rise, on the other hand, doesn't have Safeguard at all, as it would be OP to have it on a single slot out of three skills. (At least I think that's why they did it.) If you get Insurance as your daily skill, you can combine that with Moxie, but I'm pretty sure that was possible in World as well...
The armor and demon charm actually have to be bought twice, there are crafting materials for a really cool item with them so try to get two of each trust me you'll love it :3

I am by no means the absolute best Hunter, as there are still plenty who can make me look quite simple... But that does not change the fact that my experience with the series allows me certain advantages. Very few things in World really surprised me, and I signed on as a Mentor when the game released. My students all became great hunters in their own right, but not by being copycats of me... any true Master Hunter encourages individuality after all. Where am I going with this? I am one of very few players who's knowledge and skill with the series offsets their physical stats in any game. So these issues you speak of were never really an issue in my case, as I played a majority of that game in weak armour just to make the game an actual challenge.

Thanks Mr. Cotton for all these tips. Already understood the idea of upgrading equipment, that is VERY standard RPG fare, and am well familiar with it, though I should certainly start exploring some fun set combos to truly explore my niche playstyle in Monster Hunter Rise. Speaking of, this is the first ever Monster Hunter game I've decided to get into, so these tips are sure to keep me interested. As for the requests, they sound a lot like sidequests to me, and I LOVE that, because it's a world building element that just adds more to the world. As for the exploration, I probably will be going on expeditions (or... WHATEVER they're called for Monster Hunter games) to truly get a feel for the places and take my time wandering around seeing some particularly entertaining things. And not only that, it'll be a chance for me to collect some useful stuff while out exploring so that I can prepare for a particularly grueling hunt or rampage!
I admit, Stories was the game that allowed for me to understand how to do all the micro managing. I am glad I played it, and honestly should have played it as my first MH game. I would have learned enough to not mess up my world file from the start

For a bit of context to point ten, I was about five months late to the start of Icevorne. By the end of February I had all the awards, crafted all armor and charms and was MR 700. You'll definitely have plenty of time to do anything you want to do, even if you're playing casually.
Also, if you really like how you made your pets look and took a long time on it, save a preset so that later you can easily hire one that looks exactly the same. I heard that your beginning palico doesn't really hold up endgame, so this way you can at least keep the appearance

If they weren't all things I already knew perhaps, as I consider this information common sense for this series. I am more than a little bias after having played all of the previous titles barring those on PC, but even were I not at that level of Hunter... I feel many of these are just what any logical person would do. Especially in the realm of gathering, as Nulberries should be chief among your list of collection if you played MH4U.

Wirebug Tip: most wirebug counters or mobility moves have multiple inputs after the initial input. These can significantly change the way you use wirebugs and should DEFINITLEY be explored. Try out different ones and see what you find! Edit: grammar and spelling errors

I already did most of these in the older games. I always started with the village quests, I always gathered as much as I could and anyone that doesn't upgrade armor and weapons is kinda missing the point of Monster Hunter.

Only thing I don’t agree with is to do the village quests, do some to get used to the game, but you don’t get ANYTHING from doing village quests aside from just unlocking HR from the get go for hub quest.

By the end I was totalling around the 2000-5000 range, given I was just making sets and bringing them up to code.
Upgrading armour gets expensive later on, having enough spheres will be the least of your worries especially if you play with other people.

Only thing I don’t agree with is to do the village quests, do some to get used to the game, but you don’t get ANYTHING from doing village quests aside from just unlocking HR from the get go for hub quest.
