Another small time saving tip. If you wirebug and hang in the air as the countdown at the end of a quest reaches 0, you will skip the animation, and get to the rewards screen faster. Works solo and multi.

So stoked to be experiencing another incredible MH game along with all y’all! And thank you Boomstick for making some of the best MH content on TH-cam!
In some areas there are giant rock insects on the walls, (like the reptile nest in the desert). If you hit them with a kunai, they will start shooting at the big monsters in range. Also, use raw meat when the flooded waters have jumping piranhas to create a small mayhem which will probably flinch the monster
@@medhidiakite136 any area on flooded islands that has a water surface and has fish jumping in and out. You can throw it on any water surface, each numbered area has a cooldown on piranha hunger.
Lol the camera is really game changer. Some basic thing i want to add, buy two charm from the merchant, the power and defensive ones, and add it to pouch. It will add atk and defense. Also, you can upgrade its on crafting menu to claws for more damage. After the upgrade, buy the charms again for more damage and defence. You need to sacrifice 4 pouch sloth for this atk and defense bonus.
Some of these tips were quite helpful but the one that should have been MOST obvious to me was the palamute sharpening in combat tech. I'm so dumb for not having thought of that already. xD
3:20 I recommend just setting your radial menu to a regular First Aid Med+ rather than the crafting version, because it crafts one immediately and you simultaneously start drinking it most of the time. Also, I always bring max honey and just have a cat farm honey in the argosy
You can easily ride those monster that are not primary quest. Which help you a lot to deal damage to main monster. Also luring a monster using stinkmink helps as well. Hope this helps
The beet thing about thus was all the info I clearly missed in the options. I’d be complaining about certain aspects but then now I see there are options to alter everything to make it much more enjoyable. Thanks!
Here's a Sunbreak tip. Look into the ''sniff it out'' palamute ability. You can enable it in the action bar setting, and it allows you to mark almost anything on the map, or multiple items. It will mark things forever, until you turn it off, so when you come back to that map those things are still marked. I usually have each map set up to highlight things like ore, wirebugs, different types of insects, etc. You'll be surprised how much more you notice and pickup just roaming around each map, or on the way to hunt a monster.
Play musical chairs with the monsters. If there's 3 monsters on the map go for one of the ones that isn't your target. Ride it to the target beat the target up, launch it at the target. Ride the target to third monster, beat that one up, then launch the target monster at the third one. Then ride the third one and beat up the target for even more damage. Also use the wire bug hang to skip the palamute/palico petting cinematic after a hunt.
I'll admit, I thought this channel was only going be to relevant to my life during the IGN villian arc. But time and time again he keeps making these fire ass videos. I've watched like a dozen MH Rise guides and this is the first time someone has mentioned that you can throw things faster with the wirebug.
Great tips as always 👍 I especially like the aerial bombing one. I'll have to use it next time monster falls asleep! One small tip I have: when dashing/running with doggo, you can just hold R (or zR if you have it swapped) without having to input forward on the analog stick 👍
Actually you just run by pressing R, if you wanna dash (run faster) you have to select a input after press ZL. You can even dash backwards by pressing back+ZL. But if you do not inout any direction, just press ZL, doggo will start the dash animation and then cancel it.
all of these tips were great! one game-changer for me was learning that you can attack immediately after doing a wiredash by pressing zl+a/x > then x (or maybe zr). could be useful for defense and offense in combat and maneuvering around the monster quicker
The endemic life/gathering points to be displayed on the minimap is a new one for me. Wish I knew that a few days earlier would have saved me a lot of time trying to get the Boatshells in Frost Isles 🤓 but will know for next time. Thanks man.
Something small but cool i found is if you hang from your wire bug right at the end of the timer before going back to the village from a hunt, it will skip the outro scene. I use it almost every time just for efficiency.
For the capturing tip i can advice to look for something else, if u have ur palico with u; they will at some point say "i calculated a 'x'% chance for capture" or something like that. If u get that message the monster can be captured. And from my experience it happens before limping and the blue skull
I was familiar with the majority of what's in this video, but I think the most helpful thing will be the camera zoom out. I always do that in every video game and I'm ashamed I didn't do it here. Gonna do it asap tonight!
Thanks for the tip about holding sprint to wall run. I was getting frustrated the other night when my character kept vaulting off the wall. The aerial bombing tip is a cool tip, too. I'll have to keep that in mind.
Im somewhat proud to have figured all this out on my own. This is my first MH and so far im loving it! Edit.: I also appreciate SO MUCH that the gameplay recorded ist without any HUD. As a newb that feels like a nightmare lol.
You do such a good job making MHR easier to understand, do you plan on doing more in depth weapon guides subs there's a lot the directions don't tell you? Would love to see that
this tip is spoiler so read at your own risk. later in the game you can buy powercharms and armorcharms from the merchant. if you are a veteran you might be asking if the talons are back. they are. however the material is a monster that's important to the story and it's not magnamalo. the monster's name will be further down, this is my second warning all you need to get the talons are 1 powercharm, 1 armorcharm and 2 ibushi claws for each charm.
the capturing tip is still pretty much useful, especially to prevent situation where u just trapped a monster and about to use tranq bomb, and someone yeet u away
To add to the first tip: this also lets you exhaust your large bombs in one big blast. Place the first two, then wirebug drop the third. It helps your wakeup damage if your playing a weapon without big, bombastic moves (i.e. dual blades), or your Charge Blade doesn’t have any phials charged for a wakeup UED
Throw some raw meat into rivers and bodies of water in the Flooded Forest to get a bunch of piranhas to attack that spot. Also, for enemies that like to cling to walls and ceilings (Khezu), chucking a bunch of throwing knives will eventually knock them down for a free opening.
I only found that the tranq bomb first, trap later tip late into iceborne. It really useful in iceborne since you probably spam a lot of trap and the monster are immune to them making it stay on trap like a fraction of second.
Another tip when grinding hunts at the end of a hunt last 10 seconds use a wirebug to get airborne then simply hold the A button to hang from wirebug. This will skip the end animation and get you back to the hub/ village quicker
One I didn't know: seeing the items on the radar when zoomed with L held down. I knew there had to be a way to do this, but couldn't figure it out. Two things I really want to know are: How can I rearrange my item bar/ammo order during a hunt. This option was available through the submenu option inside start > item pouch in MH:World. Also, how can I quickly swap between radial menu presets. I don't like to use the d-pad. There is like 20 preset radial menu placeholders... but, saving/loading item loadouts and equipment loadouts do not load these. Having to manually swap them when changing equipment loadouts almost defeats the purpose of having an item/equipment loadout in the first place, with regard to radial menu presets.
i'd actually suggest putting the first aid plus on auto combine, because you can usually just pick up two or more honey on your way to the monsters on the map, and it will probably come in handy. you could definitely just use your own honey too but usually you won't need that much healing if you have potions and megapotions with you, so whatever you can pick up on the map will probably be enough. and if not, honey and herbs are easy to come by and respawn after just four minutes, so if you use the map you can always restock during a quest!
I could have missed it as I was going all over the place while the video was playing, was kinda expecting you to mention it at the end of the video but you can cut short that end of quest random animation by just hanging on your wirebug midair as the countdown reaches 0, shortening ever so slight your return home.
3:04 You can bring a max stack of Honey with you and still gather more. Just craft a First Aid Med+ when you want to gather honey. Also, if you bind First Aid Med+ to your Radial menu, even if you don't have any with you, as long as you have a First Aid Med and a Honey on you, using that will automatically craft a single First Aid Med+ and drink it!
If you are already riding your palamute to track down monsters after they flee the zone, you might as well wait 'til you are on route before you start sharpening. In Iceborne, there were "raider rides" which would drive you to the destination without steering, but was not "faster" than just running. However, they would save you time if you had to sharpen. So, feel free to disregard this commentary.
67 hours in I clicked in expecting to maybe learn 1 thing, instead I apparently didn't know almost any of this! Especially the alternate monster attacks.
Send Meowsanaries to Lava caverns to gather fish and you have a good chance at getting Great Wetfish. These fish take one slap to fully sharpen a weapon. lol
If you have sucky joycon drift, using Gyroscope mode and turning off the the x or y axis movement can help you if the problem is just the camera. I don't have anything for the unfortunate souls who have broken left joysticks.
Double jump .... jump with XR while riding and then B in the air off the palamute hold R to wall run with out using wirebug and THEN wirebug... it’s an easy way to get All the way top of waterfall in training area... or I guess the insect glave works too
Yes as long as they are near you, hold A. Also if you are sprinting with it, you can press B to launch yourself off of your dog to do some midair combos or let loose your wirebug. The movement in this version of Monster Hunter is vital to learn and not get killed
