I am shocked that america still has not banned guns i mean 12,000 deaths a year vs every other country like 20 deaths a year and don't even start with the knife bullshit excuse there is no comparison. Every year i switch on the tv and all i see is shooting after shooting after shooting in america it really is a embarrassment now. America need to wake up and realise its not a good idea giving civillians guns and crime goes way down once guns are taken away statistics have shown this time and time again there is no argument and anyone who does argue this cannot accept the truth.

@@BigMeech935 Yes, but technical jargon shouldn't be thrown or used to dismiss common sense arguments revolving gun control. What a lot of gun nuts do is they take all these insider knowledge about terminologies revolving guns to argue against any kind of gun control. Stuff like, "Do you even know the difference between semi-automatic rifle, assault rifle, and sub-machine gun..... or like differecne between a pistol and a handgun?" to someone who might conflate the two. But it really doesn't f***ing matter because any kind of gun doesn't make sense in a civil society. So you throw this technical jargon as an excuse without making any actual argument

    • @akshayneha

@@BigMeech935 Ok Boss. Whatever makes you happy. This is coming from a side that makes arguments like "the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun", "cars/knives/cancer/etc also kill people, should we ban cars etcetc too?", "it's in the constitution it cant be taken away (not realizing ironically that it's an amendment)", and makes extremely false claims and lies to defend their side.
And btw, yes, people can talk about banning guns despite not knowing the correct technical knowledge if they will that guns are not safe and have no place in civil society. Btw, there is AMPLE amount of evidence and data to scientifically prove that guns in civil society cause increased violence and vice versa. Countries that banned guns experience sharp decline in mass shootings. In most countries mass shooting in something that is extremely rare but it happens almost every day in this country causing deaths of so many children. Guess we'll never know why.
At last, we can agree to disagree, because if you're a gun nut, no amount of persuasion can convince you. Jesus could come to earth and tell you to give up your guns and you still wouldn't do it. So this argument is really pointless. But yeah feel free to ramble on if you want to waste your precious energy.

100% agree. At least in CA, once you go through the process of purchasing a weapon, you realize all the things people say about how easy it is to get a gun flies out the window. In USA, there ARE background checks and waiting periods, additionally in CA, I had to take a gun safety test, give my finger prints, provide ID and supporting documents I live at that address, multiple waivers and agreements to sign. Then at a range, there is a range officer, everyone is preaching gun safety and responsibility, it's really a supportive community of people looking to protect themselves and the community. In reality, the vast amount of gun violence happens in poor neighborhoods, by people that didn't legally obtain their gun and have no training on how to use it.

And he talks about mass shooters using AR-15s acting like it’s some super automatic mass murder weapon. It’s funny how these people always just gloss over the “good guy with a gun” like it never exists, look at the Sutherland Springs incident in Texas “The attack is the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history, and the fifth-deadliest in the United States.”, if Stephen Willeford wasn’t there with an AR-15 defending the lives of the people involved in that tragic event, so many more people would’ve been killed. And isn’t it so interesting that any other Mass shooting is covered by the Media in full for days to weeks on end, and yet The Sutherland Springs shooting was only just barely covered with barely any mention of the heroism of Stephen Willeford. The media is insidious because they only want to cover and push incidents that help drive their narrative instead of “The Worst Mass Shooting in Texas History”, all because that incident was prevented from becoming even worse by a “good guy with a gun”.

Even though I wouldn't want the same gun laws as the US in my own country, I would for sure want to own a gun if I had to live in the US because of the high rates of violent crime. It makes a lot of sense in that regard. Also the genie is out the bottle with all those hundreds of millions of guns in circulation anyway, so even if you wanted to change it's almost become impossible at this point. It's also understandable since America was one of the few countries in the Anglosphere to break free from Great Britain by revolting against a perceived tyrannical government. As a society you just have to accept that the price of freedom is having daily mass shootings and off the charts gun deaths compared to other developed countries.

It’s cliche to compare guns to cars in these discussions but I think it makes sense here. Most people are not afraid of cars, they have seen cars, and many own and/or use cars because they are a useful tool of transportation. But if some people had never seen or used cars and simply saw them used in action movies or saw endless news footage and data about the harrowing death traps on 4 wheels, they would be rightfully upset! It’s also a bit similar to how sex education has changed from abstinence only policies to more comprehensive knowledge-based teaching.
If people were less conditioned to be afraid of guns and more effort was put into training people how to use and be comfortable around guns, there would be much less fear involved with them. They are dangerous, but so are cars, knives, chainsaws, hammers, crossbows, heavy machinery, etc… depends on how it’s used.

"People plan for their fears" That's the whole point right there. As a gun owner who didn't grow up around guns, that's the whole reason why my friends and I have become owners. That's true at least for your first gun, the rest are just for fun on the range haha. Actually there is a background check and if you ever been on psychiatric hold you can not purchase a firearm without an appeal process and before that process can start they have to wait 5 years and it’s a slippery slope when dealing with rights it’s hard to catch everyone with problems cause then you’re taking away rights from certain people that may still be responsible enough to own a weapon to protect themselves.

@@skulluxe1541You do understand that the restrictions on "certain types" of guns will be abused in bad faith by the politicians right? When people say "we only want to ban semi auto firearms" that includes the handguns that people use for self defense and before you say "use a revolver" as an instructor I've had to watch people struggle to get through carry permit certifications with them so much I don't recommend them as a viable option for self defense
We have had age restrictions since 1938 other states have raised the purchase age to 21 (hasn't done anything other than leave 18-20 year olds defenseless), we've had background checks for 30 years gun owners have compromised time and again in good faith then the authorities fail to utilize the laws we gave them so the politicians come back wanting more. that's why we have adopted a hard line stance because we see the game the politicians are playing they pass a law, selectively enforce it, gun violence continues then they demand more laws and bans with the ultimate goal of banning everything.
If that's how you want to live you can move somewhere that has laws like that enjoy the stabbings, acid attacks and getting jailed for criticizing the government.

At the same time statistically there's a far greater likelihood of you dying in a car crash than ever encountering violent intruders in your home. If gun advocates cared so much about protecting the lives of themselves and their families then they wouldn't drive.
