There was a size class/separate toyline during Cybertron called Legends of Cybertron, which became the Legends Class afterwards for a few years. That led to the Prime Cyberverse Commander and Legion Class toys a little later. All about the same size as Smallest Transforming Transformers. Speaking of, STT Soundwave's Ravage tape partner currently has the record for the smallest Transformers toy that can actually transform.
I am so glad when my dad was in japan he picked up one of these as a gift for me and the one I got was soundwave, they go for crazy prices on ebay, and I still have mine in mint condition basically (I was so afraid of losing all the parts it just sat forever in a box) seeing the tiny ravage now its a wonder, man japan gets all the coolest toys.
I know they're pricier, but 3rd party legends scale figures have been incredible lately, and definitely fill the void left by core class. The engineering on that scale is getting wild.
@rayhanmustakim7073 Look up newage, magic square, and even others like lucky cat have been making high-quality legends scale figures. I just got lucky cat's 2018 bumblebee figure cause it scales with the rest of my hot wheels collection.
@@rayhanmustakim7073 OP is referring to unofficial toys made by unlicensed companies using the designs and characters of the Transformers franchise. It's far more accurate to say they're Core Class scale rather than Legends. But even the previously lauded "third parties" (which are actually not contractual parties at all) are starting to fall victim to quality control issues and less robust materials the same way Hasbro is.
One of your videos showed up on my recommended page, after I watched a few clips from the 2007 movie. Listening to you talk about different toylines is fun and relaxing, even for someone who isn't into toy collecting or Transformers.
As an adult who just watched Armada for the first time (and therefore has no nostalgia bias), I'm sure Armada is just as good as you rememeber. I loved it and thought it had so much cool stuff going on.
I remember finding the Armada Unicron and Primus at my local flea market for $5 right around the time of the 2007 film. Really amazing figures. The Haslab one is technically more impressive but not nearly as fun. I think one of the biggest issues with modern figures is that they strive for 100% scale and accuracy while never factoring in price or what I call the "shelf factor", i.e. how on earth does one display a figure like Haslab Unicron. (Or HasLab Galactus, Sentinal, The Sky Striker, Sail Barge....who on earth has space for these??) Also I have never heard of that Stratosphere figure. I watched the opening of ROTF a ton on the ol' dvd and would've killed for that figure. I love "scene specific" figures! That mini Optimus is just pure gold.
Very surprised you didn't mention the little figures that come with HasLab Unicron, Autobot Ark, & the Galvatron companion pack. Also, Studio Series Shockwave comes with MINISCULE versions of Wheelie & Brains.
About that robosen thing, with them not being playable. As much as it hurts to say, those aren't really meant to be picked up and played with. They're more like display things or remote control vehicles with the app thing. Plus, uh, i don't really thing they were GOING for playability with a 700 dollar thing.
3:08 Armada still slaps hard actually. You have to go through some generic 2000s kids anime parts in the first half or so, but when it gets going it gets really good. Like, the highs of Armada are some of the best parts of the entire franchise high, in my opinion.
yeah! I like the size range thing too. I always wished Beast Wars pushed harder into that, but at least toward the end we did still have two tiny characters walking around among these giants, somehow able to operate the controls in the Ark. Toywise, they did vary a bit, but not that tremendously so. Not that I want anything smaller than basics, or could afford anything bigger than ultras, really.. Beast Machines' toyline ended up doing that for _just Cheetor._ crazy. I do like minicons, but I think most of the time they need to work on the modes a little, or keep them as targetmasters. I'm with you (and Top Hanks) on building/city mechs being pretty boring. I guess if Hasbro hasbrought back the tiniest, they'd have to call them "smallest _converting_ transformers." anyway Core class was too small, fun as it was... I have one rattrap too big, and one too small. not one who can properly give the business to Choppaface.
the point of my robosen op for me is to just keep him off in robot mode and carry him around like a weighted doll because hes the same weight as my cat who died several months ago
Smallest Transforming Transformers were so cool! I recall owning Bumblebee, but after 3 moves, I seem to have lost it. It's entirely possible the little bug is somewhere still in my collection, lost in a bin lol
Don’t forget the Spy Changers and the recent Hot Wheels x Transformers collab that featured a fully transferable G1 prime in 1/64 scale. My heart is full of tiny robots.
The loss of Core class really sucks both because I love having tiny Transformers that I can fiddle with whenever I want, and because I very much do not have the budget to afford $25 Deluxes, so this kind of prices me out of buying new Transformers, at least for the time being. Also, I was hoping we'd get a Core class Jazz at some point.
Dude ur so underatted keep it up. But i think you missed a company called DR WU. They make small (i mean SMALL) Transforming g1 figures. But yeah Nice video dude!
The fans are getting a short temper once the core classes are gonna be discontinued

The smallest transforming Transformer toy is World's Smallest Transformers Ravage. Comes with Soundwave. He's not a great Transformer, but he does transform. He's about the size of a SIM chip.
That's the dilemma of big transformers like unicron or triptocon they are supposed to be these gigantic things but you can't just make giant toys, it's impractical honestly to expensive so what they do is just make super tiny mini figures to show the size difference which also dosnt really do it justice Imo there's no wining the whole figure size debate, some complain that it's to big others that it's not big enough
Plot twist they do a Studio Series ROTB Stratosphere but instead of pooping tiny Optimus he poops tiny Bumblebee... (I wouldn't mind that, I have the Rotf Stratosphere and I still love him to this day)
nice vid, the Cybertron Figures were my first contact with Transformers, still have my Primus mostly complete and the Ironhide lion but lost Optimus but I really started being a fan after watching the first three bayverse Transformers movies, loved the designs and now half of my collection of Studio Series figures are KOs because the OGs are hard to get. Was surprised to see some older Studio series transformers reappear as KOs on amzn, now are Ironhide and Shockwave back on my list and the crown jewel of my bayverse collection is the KO Devastator
If you don't mind me making a suggestion for a video, I was always curious about transformers toys and figures that were NOT cybertronian, there's probably not much but I was always curious about the quality when they're not the main focus
All the 12 armada fans out there love minicons, but the micromasters apparently sold like shit, so they're very apprehensive about making smoll bois now
The smallest transforming transformer Soundwave does have a tiny tape that “transforms” into a leopard (sorry, forget the name) but sort of in a flat way
Awesome toys mentioned, I have two long arms one with bumblebee and one without bumblebee, but I think you misunderstood the robosen range, they are not toys they are machines
I do have to wonder why so many Transformers TH-camrs only talk about official products. there are so, so many good third-party toys that could have been mentioned in this video. 01-Studio Cell for example is in my opinion superior to Haslab Unicron in just about every way but size. and on the opposite end of the spectrum Dr. Wu has some surprisingly complex yet *tiny* transformers. DW-E23T Ultra Magnus is only about 3 inches tall for example, and the basic optimus without the armor is only about 2.5 inches
Every car is a transformer in transformers. That’s why the vehicles in the background in the transformers movies that never transformed had transforming toys anyway. Buuuuutttt….. there was a transformers comic where megatron shot a normal truck because he thought it was optimus prime
I didn’t know about armada Sparkplug until nearly four years after I made a transformer character that was a smaller, black pickup truck, also named Sparkplug. I still think mines better cause he’s mine you know
I am espicially sad at the death of core class because it is what got me into collecting as an adult, for a long while I thought of transformers as shitty cars and shittier action figures (I am a picky bitch on articulation and how it affects the mold) and had simple transformations when stacked against the goat that is rotf optimus, but when I picked up soundwave for $10 I was absolutely blown away, he looks good in every pose, his transformation is fun, and he is a nice pocket size to be a fidget. I would not be seeing this video if not for core class.
hasbro's afraid of minicons cause the micromasters/prime masters didnt do too good sales wise which def has nothing to do with the fact that most of them were repaints of each other with identical transformations
Dunno if it's quite in your wheelhouse, but there's a few companies that make weird, transformers-esque toys that are shaped like numbers and letters - I remember playing with some of them when I was a kid. Most of them these days are generic Chinese drop shipping companies, but once upon a time there was a proper toyline of them (though I forget the name.) Could be an interesting subject for a video.
You talk about size you mension robosen but you dont talk about the huge ass Titans the biggest ever transformers we ever got from the past 8 years 🤷♂️
You mention Smallest Transforming Transformers in a video about Biggest and Smallest TF's and you don't mention STT Ravage, the actual smallest Transformer in existence? I have a STT Soundwave and his Ravage is small enough to lose in a bellybutton. It's amazing. In the 3rd-Party world, you also have the work of Junkion Blacksmith, who made Headmaster recreations of part of the G1 lineup that could form robots, heads, and their original altmodes. I have a G1 Headmaster Soundwave head, it's also awesome.

So in summary, you love them small, instead of big....noted.
The smallest is probably Smallest Transforming Transformers Ravage, who came with Soundwave. Ravage was the size of a pinky nail.
Somehow should do a comparison between that Ravage and Haslab Unicron.

“Fort Max’s Rival, Trypticon”
..I’m starting to see why his name is dumb Jake
I swear I always have at least one random fact I get wrong 😂 forgive me I am actually dumb
