Great video! The reason Windblade and Arcee Furai models look like that is because Flame Toys hired an Ero/H-artist for the designs, and the designs were dictated by the fans.
Blokees REPRESENT. Wait till you see the ACTION CLASS which are 50$ each and currently is just G1 Prime and Megatron. Theyre basically full on Gundam building mode like building the exoskeleton first and then applying the armor plates
A good expansion to your "Transformers that are not transformers" series would be the various transforming robot cars that appeared at monster truck rallies over the years (Robosaurus, Vorian, galactron, megasaurus, etc.) After all, most of them were hevily inspired by transformers.
It defies the main gimmick. The move is so bold that it's almost admirable yet so stupid that it leaves me dumbfounded every time I try to fathom the thought process.
The only RPM toy that interests me is the Sideswipe doing his stabbing pose. I'm personally a Transformers purist, so I automatically filter this kind of stuff. I spent hours upon hours playing the mobile tie in game, and I collected the toys (til they started breaking, but DANG they were fun) I'm subbing solely because of the nostalgia trip you just took me on.
I love Yolopark. For $30 you get a highly accurate, highly detailed figure with none of the drawbacks of it needing an Alt Mode. No hollow parts, no kibble, no wonky proportions, no limiting articulation.
Yeah Blokee's has been poppin off. They put out a BUNCH of Ultraman and Kamen Rider and I am all for that. I hope they get into other Transformers I'd love a Blokee's RID2002 Scourge.

I used to think non-transforming Transformers were a novelty as well until ThreeZero released Revenge of the Fallen Megatron back in 2022 (I think?). The detail is emaculate and the articulation is incredible, though not perfect. Although I guess you could say my fascination with the ROTF Megatron stems from a major deficit of screen-accurate toys of him that aren't cheap KOs of the Studio Series.
I actually got the Megatron figure from Blokee's Classic Class and the toy is actually very nice to have in your room as a collection item. The plastic is nice but the torso plates had a bit of a gap when the figure was finished
As a fallout fan i hate Threezero with a passion because they make good power armor figures but they go for hundreds if not thousands, and they're literally the ONLY company making official possible power armor figures
I remember getting an speed stars thing as a stocking filler circa 2009 and i genuinely didn't know it was a transformer until about 3 months later when my mum said so the paint was so shoddy
Very cool video. I did want to mention that to my knowledge, at least the ones I have, another difference between RPMs and Speed Stars, is that some of the Speed Stars are made with Die-Cast metal, so that could be why they have less paint on the bottom, since now they had to fully paint the top of the vehicle.
If I recall correctly at least in Latin America Hasbro also made a line of Titan hero and Playskool heroes transformers toys that not only don't transform they barely move at all
Revoltechs Transformers were goated. The G1 releases based on the dreamwave comics design were cool, albeit the mold were rather gummy in the details. The sexiest one is no doubt the DOTM Optimus. Probably one of the best bayverse Optimus figure to date.
I have the non-stylized Flame Toys G1 Optimus kit from when they were first starting the line and I absolutely love it. Good quality plastic overall and the gloss finish on the red and blue parts looks great. Great to pose on the shelf with my other non-Gundam plamo kits.
I love Flame Toy's stuff. Their Lio Convoy kit comes with a cape. Like an actual velvet cape with a wire inside so you can pose the cape like it bellowing in the wind. Flame Toys kits are next level. Though I do wanna get some of those yolo park TFOne figures.
Hero Mashers was fun to mess around like Optimus Prime Head on Marvel Thor looked pretty good. Along with making Figures of characters that probally never get a real one like Doc Ock Carnage from PS1 Spiderman game or Darth Jar Jar. The Dino bot transformers parts was re used for Ironman figures in the line too.
I remember some power ranger that could "transform" in their zord, they were pretty much the power ranger with the zord bent as a bagpack, would be funny for you to review them if possible
speaking of Dollar Tree, there's a small line of figures they had that, unsurprisingly, do not transform. it's currently on their website if you look for it. I bought Starscream and Soundwave last year and they stand under one of my work monitors. I'm not even really a Transformers fan, I just thought they looked neat lol.
The McDonald's happy meal toys that came out in 2010 looked so good.... I remember getting Optimus Prime and Star Scream.... I wish McDonald's would put detail into their toys like that again and stop being so cheap.....
I love the Classic Class Optimus and Megatron, they're so cute! I *would* collect some lil Blokees kits, but I want an Elita and Jazz and they're not in that line for some reason.
Hasbro seriously needs to leave the Jurassic Park franchise alone. They were so bad, here's a list of Hasbro screwups: Buying out Kenner, which actually made good toys Making Raptors without toeclaws Not covering up screwholes Terrible joints for the toys (someone reported buying a T-Rex and just stood it somewhere, and it's arm just fell off) Bad rubber quality Battle damage on the dinosaurs which you couldn't cover up Barely painting the minifigures No human characters Excessive repaints and recolorings
Personally, I would be happy to have screen accurate toys of Arcee, Optimus, and Soundwave from Transformers Prime even if they _didn't_ transform; hell, I'd love to just have the model files they used during production (plus a compatible 3D viewing software), because I'm really interested in seeing the insides of how the models fit together.
I thought I had seen bad Transformers, mainly from reviews, but let me tell ya, I am GLAD I never had a Speed Stars figure!! I consider them (With the exception of Bumblebee, he's not *too* bad, but that's not saying much.) to be worse than Titanium Megatron. Yes, I went there... You can fight me all you want to, but as bad as he is as a figure, at least he *looked* somewhat decent. The paint job on the robot modes of those Speed stars figures makes me want to *weep* in despair. And believe me, I've seen figures whose paint jobs weren't great and some that lacked paint, but those figures *really* lack paint. I've never seen it this bad before!! You're better off just cutting the bottom off and pretend that it never had a robot mode underneath it, because there is *no* way I'd buy that for my kids, if I had any, because they're just that horrible. I wouldn't even buy them those if they had been misbehaving, that's how bad they are...
The YoloParts figures look excellent, but seeing so many toys kinda robs me of the enthusiasm. I guess the quality does offset the lack of transforming, especially when affordability comes into play.
Gotta say, those kinda brave series inspired model kits from flame toys are super cool and have the kind of style I've been looking for in transformers for a while, they straight up look like owari super robot designs fuck yeah
