    Staying focused on one major task at a time is my goal right now! I'm the say way, I have so many ideas, I get bored easily, I love to start things and then move on, I always take on too many things at once and then get frustrated at all of them and quit! Thank you for the reminder! I'm focusing on growing my youtube channel that's it!

  • @iiAngelic
    @iiAngelic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Gillian, this is maybe the second video I've watched of yours, and there's a quality of your videos that surprises my mind. I think it's the fact that you don't have 1+ minutes of just INTRO or messing around with your surroundings! Thank you for being efficient with time!

    • @SatumainenOlento
      @SatumainenOlento 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YES! I highly appreciate this too!!! I hate intros and always need to skip the intro to get to the video's value part for me. Also normally people are so eager to remind people to subscribe with flags and bells that it is really annoying me. I love how Gillian just gently reminds us that if "you like this video subscribe and you get to see more great videos". We are not stupid, we know those buttons.When youtuber keeps great noise about subscribe-button it feels like I'm doing it for the youtuber more than to my own benefit. And I'm not here to watch youtube videos so that other people benefit from it. I truly do not mind really that part, but that is NOT the reason for anybody who watches youtube videos. Being reminded about it is kind of tasteless. The same than supermarket announcing: "We are not actually here to offer services for you, but to make money from you." Would you like to visit that Supermarket after that? Not good marketing strategy. (And before anybody comments on this: I truly appreciate every single content provider in the youtube. I think that they are all so AWESOME and I'm extremely GLAD that they get money from it. It takes a lots of effort to create great content!!!) Thank you so much Gillian! Content and value in the videos is always SUPER!

    YESSSS!!!!!! One of the chief tenements to success is taking ownership of our opportunities to enhance personal quality in every facet of our lives. It takes courage and truth about who we are and hope to become.
    You hit the nail on the head "Want". This denotes lack and this sends out a frequency to the universe and the universe returns more of the same. Abundance out Abundance in! Thank you for sharing your truth and inspiration.

    Thanks Gillian! I think I’d love to see more videos about how you and your husband work together in your household. I’m not married, but when the time comes I have a vision for my life that is similar to how you do yours (that you both stay home and he takes care of the kids while you work). Learning this about you is part of what attracted me to your channel. Right now I’m building my first website and getting ready to start a blog and a vlog to start making money online. (I’m a comedian and writer but decided I need to put a moratorium on performing in order to convert my skills to a home based income so I can someday afford to have a family.) PS. I am so proud of your success for such a young person! Great work! You’re an old soul I think :)

    By far this is my favorite video so far. I loved the concept of MINDSET. This is something that I have been needing to work on. By watching your videos and making some changes in my MINDSET I have been able to implement some changes just this week.
    Today was DAY 6 of waking up at 5am and working on things that I want to do before the children wake up and we start our day.
    Wow! What a difference. I have tackled more things on my "TO-LIST" in these past 6 days than I usually can get done in a month!
    The Lord is MY Shepherd and I shall not want. Thank You Jesus. Ephesians 3:20

      totally agree--we are the sum of our thoughts and produce as such. By changing our mindsets, we can change our lives.

  • @paraglide01
    @paraglide01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your explanation of the concept of "want" was eyeopening for me. I used to want al small cheap quick gratification things which cost me actually a lot of money but now I learned to "forget" to want and I dont have those little quick gartification urges anymore and I feel much calmer without those urges and my savings are growing steadily. Thank you Gillian.

  • @pursuingpeas8236
    @pursuingpeas8236 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    I have never thought of the word “want” like this before
    Thanks! I like to study words to understand the true meaning
    Like comfort actually means “ with strength” so when Gods spirit comforts us it’s not making us feel comfortable instead he helps us with strength

    • @KimberlyLetsGo
      @KimberlyLetsGo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just like the meaning of the word 'meek'. Blessed are the meek...' Back when this word was transcribed, meek meant courageous. Now see how that meaning changes the meaning of the passage. Makes way more sense! Blessed are the courageous for they shall inherit the earth.

    • @pursuingpeas8236
      @pursuingpeas8236 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to look at that up. Meek can mean gentle and patient I think and yet we use that word to mean weak. It doesn’t help that those 2 words rhyme. When I learned about the meaning of that word I decided I wanted to become meek. People look at me funny when I say that I hope to master the character of meekness.

    Hiii! Gillian! I am loving your videos. I quit my job 2 months ago as a retail store manager because I knew that I didn't want to grow anymore with that company... there was a lot going on that I just did not agree with morally. However, with that said, I have been so overwhelmed job searching because I just don't know what it is that I want to do in my life but your videos keep me inspired!! And they're helping me stay focused! Keep em coming! Love love

      Make a list of all the things you are able to do.
      Number the items from 1 to 10, 1 being highest that you like doing most. More than one item can have the same number.
      Now from your top ten or five list, pick the 3 that you like the best and then number them 1, 2 or 3. Start with your number 1 on the list and see if you enjoy doing that.
      You may find out that you really don't like the number 1 and that maybe you don't like any of the top three. That is totally fine. The purpose is to give you a starting point that enables you to search out and narrow down what is best for you to do.
      I think Gillian has a video on the subject.

    Great message, especially the Bible verse. I know some people will think this a no brainer list but what most people fail to see is being mindful and taking action by using a list like this or a list that will apply to their goals. Honesty with yourself is a must if you want to be honest with others.

    Could you do a video sometime on how you achieve life/work balance? As a work at home mom, that's one of the things I struggle with. I am GREAT at concentrated focus and getting my goals accomplished, whether it's working on my business OR working on household stuff, but I have the worst time switching gears between the two. I get so engrossed in what I'm doing, that when I'm really focusing on my business and accomplishing goals, the laundry never gets folded and I just do bare minimum cooking and cleaning. Or, if I'm super into organizing and household stuff, all that gets done really well, but I can't seem to spend any time growing my business. Thanks so much!!! Love your channel!!! 😊 💖 💖 💖

  • @TaraWagner
    @TaraWagner 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love this convo and your mindset shifts and habits, esp #2 and #3. Also your comment about how everyone talks about the "why" behind mindset and not the "how to" is a huge pet peeve of mine too and exactly why I do what I do and the in the way I do it; teaching women HOW their mind works, how to identify their actual blocks (vs what we mistakenly think are blocks) and exactly how to change the emotions, thoughts, or habits that are not helpful.
    One of my fav quotes: "Talk doesn't cook rice." The theory is only helpful for introductions or reminders to keep us on track with what we already know. The "how to" in the middle is everything.

    I love what you said about abandoning the word "want". I'm really going to try that. I was thinking of how to rephrase "I want to have blah blah blah..." and what felt good for me was to say, "One of my goals is to have blah blah blah..." It suddenly sounds like its coming from a more thoughtful place than just a selfish desire😁

    YES Gillian!! I loved this video!! I think my biggest mindset of late that I'm truthfully, I'm still working on, is the scarcity mindset! I think I just was in it so long that it's taking a little while to get out of it, but I'm starting to see through more abundant eyes!! It's a game changer!!

    • @personal.governance7837
      @personal.governance7837 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    “THANK YOU” is what shd come first in our affirmations. Why? Because the statement is then a forgone conclusion so repeating “Thank you for a bigger house close to the water” and “Thanks for some more mango gelato”.
    Avoid “I intend to” or “I will” because the future is (largely) unknown.

    Gillian, thanks for your videos and excellent content. Question: when are you having open enrollment in your Startup Society? I am very interested in becoming a member. TY

    Ice cream. Yeah. I have expensive eating habits that can't always be sustained. Anyway, you've really been researching the whole "productivity" thing, haven't you? You've gotten to be scientific and spiritual about the whole thing! Thanks for the great work you do!

      so true, negative people tend to think negatively but few understand the power of positive thinking. I totally agree. Just like the book As a Man Thinketh by James Allen points out.
