I too cannot understand why some prominent youtubers are happy to walk for 30 minutes from their car in gucci gear, set up their 600 quid tent then cook steak and 'pudding'. A wise Dutch fella I met once told me the reason he loves hiking is because afterwards the food tastes better and the beer taste sweeter. He was right! That little pump is the business, by the way. I got one myself and it was totally worth it. Keep up the great work! Cheers. Oh! tip from me - get a cheap hip flask. Something to enjoy after the beer!
Thanks mate. The hip flask is tempting but I know I’ll overdo it. If I stick with beer I can only take so much cos of the weight which is a good thing. I’d end up doing something stupid, like falling down a big hill

My wife askes me " you not bothered about being out over night on your own ? "What about loons out there to get you "? I point out that the most dangerous thing out there is ME ! Walking poles , yep I use them .. for putting up my Lan shan and going down hill ! Like you ,I am cracking on a bit .. My last walk was Pen Y Fan last week . BUT not the easy way .. from the rear up the steep paths . Very true what you say about keeping going at our age. I do it to prove to myself " I'm not too buggered yet " !

Tip No. .... If you buy the tomato version of that pasta packet, it's nice to add a tin of mackerel in chilli sauce. Bit of protein & extra flavour for very little extra weight... if you like that sort of thing. Great videos. Like your style, funny as. I live near the South Downs and would love to bump into you one day.
