This is the first video game I ever played, when I was about 7 years old. My grandpa bought me a GBA for my birthday. Before then I had literally never heard of video games (very sheltered family) so understandably my mind was completely blown. I played the remastered Super Mario Advance, the only game I had, for countless hours. I have so much nostalgia connected to this game I have to stop myself from typing forever. I’ll keep it at least somewhat brief and say thanks for this video, it unlocked a nostalgia door in my brain & inspired me to dig up my old Gameboy
While it wasn’t my first Video Game, GBA ver. Super Mario World was incredible as a kid.
I still haven’t been able to beat Boswer. 💀

me, whos watching it in both:
great use of music and editing. you do a great job showing a lot of respect for so many historical runs that were impactful and why, I can't imagine how much research it takes to recognize these little details that make runs special.
You know what's sad. When it said "I didn't have the VCR running..." i was initially like "oh must be some special recording device" before it hit me that was the old thing I used to play tapes on as a kid lol
Then, on December 31st 2020, Summoning Salt did this:
By using Home Resonance, Summoning Salt was able to create another intro.
Sub 8:00 willBE DONE
AndrewG ist that one character that comes back into the sequel, 70 minutes in, camera focussed on his shadow entering the saloon, saying "did you miss me?" - then the screen fades to black with that cliffhanger
Hes like the protagonist that can’t be killed
And then Hotarubi is just there, and ask yourself if he’s been there the whole movie.
Bro, the entire video I was sitting there for him to mention my favorite character, AndrewG again
DU HIER??🤣
I see you are a man of culture aswell
Every time he shows up in one of these videos I get choked up a little.
Thank you so much for these videos. They are so well put together that they're utterly enthralling.
I very rarely rewatch videos that I’ve seen before. But I just rewatched this video after seeing it about a year ago. And I enjoyed every second of it again.
Summoning Salt is the master and a pioneer of this genre of videos.
I love how the bus analogy has become so well known, he doesn’t even need to name it.
Yet everyone knows exactly what he is saying.
ikr, I think Darbian is the most famous speedrunner ever simply bc of the Bus Analogy
what is a bus? i only know of *4 Wheeled vehicle of transportation*
@@mulraf bus is how you speedrun the 4 wheel vehicle of transportation.
to be fair, if i were 4 frames off a world record in a prestigious game i’d quit too
@@trash_lol sounds like some first world problems right there
No one knows who you are schizo
@@trash_lol nobody knows you shut up and stop yelling like a child
I'd do the same lmao
Can relate
“Cak’s speed run was still standing 2 years later, it was just that good at 8 mins 32 secs.”
Me: *checks time* oh we still have half the video left. Time to strap in!
As of May 27, 2022, COOLKID holds the record at 8m 11s 590ms, just a little under 4 seconds ahead of IluvMario's 8m 15s 300ms.
Crazy how andrew G is a recurring character in so many of these, what a legend.
An *absolute* one.
@@TheAtb85 dang you stole my comment
After a while of watch SummoningSalt, you kinda see a combined universe surrounding speedrunners
Every competitive arena has gate keepers.
He should be way more known than ppl like Billy Mitchell
This is a very underrated speedgame, especially warpless!
Hello
Pog
SMB2 is my second favorite Mario speedrun after SMB3
I don’t speedrun this game...yet
Oo, then I should check it out
How are some youtube videos so much exponentially better at grabbing audiences than multi-billion dollar studios?? You are right up there my friend, liked and subscribed.
Shortly after this video was posted, CoolKid pulled off and 8:11.59, which is the new record as of 2023-12-08. Absolutely incredible.
"Only 6 seconds to save for a perfect run"
Checks video, only halfway done... hmmmmm
I did the same thing :))))))
Time flies when u watching sum of these
(x) doubt
Everybody a gangsta until HOME begins to play.
Bruh, that shit has some Clockwork Orange vibes.
@@ChunkSchuldinga Activates my LSD flashbacks
coolkid now has an 8:11.5
holy.
“Toad picked up a cobra and ran as fast as he could.” I love it.
"Involving a particular four-wheeled vehicle..."
I'm dead.
Haha that was brilliantly subtle
Ahhh I was waiting for the BUSSSSSS
I don’t get it
@@redred622 have you ever heard the tragedy of darth bus the wise
@@redred622 There is an overused analogy for a similar mechanic in super mario speedruns involving a bus.
The entire time I expected Matt Turk to show up and clean house with a record
Matt Turk simply allows others to have world records.
I was expecting Matt turk to come up anytime, legend
It will be funnier if Matt Turk beat smb2 with punch out kid.
@@kos2919 You mean with Little Mac lol
MATT TURK OUTTA NOWHERE
went to look at the leaderboard just for the hell of it and COOLKID got an 8:12 yesterday. absolute madman
