The other bird doesn't even seem to have the strength or wherewithal to push itself back into the nest while the cuckoo has the energy and strength to push its nestmate all of the way out.
Okay so i know this sucks but it happens and it is rather confounding to watch the cuckoo chick go to such lengths to push out it's competition. Just the fact that they're born with these instincts to eject other birds and eggs from the nest is truly interesting. if you really want to moralize nature or the cosmos, why aren't you asking why the person(s) with the nest cam didn't remove the cuckoo from the nest? I'm not suggesting they should. but if you want to make (random?) moral assertions, at least let's start with blaming someone(s) that exist.

Cuckoos are native birds and in many places, it's illegal to remove native birds from any nests, even brood parasites.
