- Nest is located in South Estonia, Võrumaa.
A military base is close, so it is not unusal to hear motor sounds from trucks and other vehicles, sometimes even shots.
A fish farm, as well as a river, is not far, so good hunting conditions for Ospreys.
Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) reach body heights of 50-66 cm, and wingspans of 1,27 - 1,74 m. Females are bigger than males.

Daddy there is quite the character! I’m going to name him the Bedding King! Better yet, the Baby Smash Bedding King, since every time he came in, determined to keep that nest fit, he landed his find on top of a chick! What a character! Truly, joking aside, beautiful pair, doing exactly as God developed them to; Mom laying, nurturing, feeding & teaching the young while dad is building the house, hunting & protecting mom & chicks. What a beautiful example of birds of prey! I was shocked at how well-behaved the chicks were at feeding time, being true predators. Seeing their little chick battle reminded me of the true predators at heart they are. Thank you so very much for sharing such a special time; seeing hatching to fledgling is a gift from God. ❤
