I actually learned in another video like this that the Cuckoo mothers check on the nests they place their eggs into, no egg or cuckoo chick? Destroyed nest is the reward. Cause I found it strange the videos where a camera man only just put the chicks or eggs back into the nest, and that explained why.
The cuckoo bird’s instinct to dispose of a rival is so strong that it will eventually succeed to push out that egg when the parent isn’t there. After all, it was doing that while the parent was present!
I hope we get updates on this. Echoing other commenters I think that's a cuckoo and it will probably continue trying to get rid of the other chicks/egg.
It seems a different colour to the other chicks, or at least younger, so that's likely. Mother should have tossed the impostor, but doesn't seem to realize.
Yep it’s a cuckoo it’s hardwired into them to push out an egg if it feels one, she is just lucky that her other chicks have already hatched or they two would have had the same fate as the last egg.
Her own chicks looks at least few days old - the remaining egg is propably not fertilized, so if cuckoo won't throw it out, mom will do it when she'll find out
@@CrowPal In Brasil few years ago... in poor areas... your humain babies don't belong to the right parents... sometimes, the parent were not as "dark" as the baby but the hospital nurse didn't care at all and gave the baby to the wrong parent and the most idiot thing : the parent didn't care either...
That's the cuckoo chick, a parasitic bird. You see how it looks subtly different from other chicks. Its behavior is to try to get rid of the host's eggs and new hatchlings to eliminate food competition.
Кукушка паразит лишь в продолжении рода ,а в природе она выполняет свою работу не хуже других птиц,она уничтожает такие виды вредителей что другие птицы не способны это сделать а кукушка может .
Luckily the siblings are seemingly older and stronger than the parasite cuckoo. Hopefully the mother is already giving less food to the alien chick. The rest egg seems to be never born now.
That seems to me to be another bird species in the nest trying to get rid of the egg deliberately and will eventually starve the other chicks or push them out too! I've watched this happen on documentaries b 4 and unfortunately the parents will keep feeding it as if it were their own
Cuckoo chicks usually hatch before the mother birds original eggs with the purpose to grow quicker and stronger to push the eggs or chicks out. On top of this a baby cuckoo usually has a brighter and larger mouth to cause the mother bird to feed it more
hello, that's their gig .. they often are born day-days before and clear out with extreme prejudice all competition already hatched or not, then stress out the "parents" to feed them 24/7 because - they r full-grown in one (1!!) week and outta there. quick, before the parents finally notice
The small bald chick is a cuckoo chick. The other two chicks are the true offspring, already with feathers. The cuckoo chick will try to eject the egg AS WELL as the larger chicks if it has a chance. See: th-cam.com/video/hteXm3yHPPo/w-d-xo.html
Some bird species do that as chicks don't fully digest their food so the parent gets some nutritional value from it as well as keeps the nest clean and reduces signs of nesting for predators to locate the nest.
Imagine being in the wild. If you are going to eat a baby bird, eat a cuckoo and save the other babies. Whether it's a natural predator like a snake or other bird or a human.
Nice staging, do you do any training with the adults to aid in making these videos? In a previous one it looked as if you had trained the adult to ignore the parasite in favor of her own by using some white colored treat as a reward when she ignored it, even despite the parasite chick's strenuous actions to be front and center.
Now the question is, is that an imposter bird that got out there by another species or is that just the normal instincts of the baby in a crowded nest?
Cuckoo? Interesting that it is smaller than the other chicks. I thought they usually were larger than the nests they parasitise, and hatch faster too so they get time to eject all the other eggs.
When a mother bird leaves her eggs for a moment, the cuckoo will actually lay her egg in that nest. When the cuckoo hatches it will push out other chicks and/or eggs. It’s kind of fascinating despite how very cruel it is, but nature be that way. Some birds will actually recognize the cuckoos egg and remove it.
Oh yea forgot to mention sometimes coocoos will habe literal mafia groups and if the mother bird gets rid of the egg\chick most of the time the gang of coocoos will murk the mother because of it
@@evilsharkey8954 I thought maybe so at first-but no..his fat wee baby head is stuck under and he is trying to get unstuck. Mom had to help that bendy neck hah

Coocoo chick is younger, but the other two could ba one week old. Watch the mother offer food, but take it away again from the bad one? Then she counts her nestlings, before offering anew.
lol no. it's a cuckoo. different species. cuckoos drop their eggs in other birds' clutches. look them up. it's definitely an invasive/alien chick in the nest. their instinct when hatched is to immediately push the nest's natural chicks/eggs out before they hatch or while they're young. they're literally built to do push eggs and hatchlings out with their back exactly as you see it doing in this video.
What's also crazy is the mother cuckoo bird know what she's to decieve the bird to take care of her baby and the baby has a built in selfish, murdering ways about them.
This looks all fake, why is the Cuckoo bird smaller than the others? usually the cuckoo is alone after pushing all the eggs or chicks out, or larger than the others because is more aggressive at feeding. and why is there still an egg long after the others hatching?
Thanks to "True Facts about..." (in TH-cam, i believe that one baby bird is an imposter. I also believe that specific baby bird have a curve like beack at the tip.
It has more to do with the incapability of the mother, the baby sees death for mother if she is over worked. These seemingly cruel acts are not competition, they are kind of math needed to live life on the razors edge.
Please photographer, save the species of the eggs dropped by the cuckoo villain. Please contribute to save these birds. We could even launch the movement ❤❤❤
I'm not sure that Mom was right. Why has the remaining egg not hatched? If it was never fertilized, it will sit there and go bad, creating bacterial contamination in the nest. Perhaps the nestling's instincts were correct-----get it out of the nest, before it goes bad.

I think this poses a problem for macro-evolutionists. To develop an ingrained tendency to drop an egg in a foreign nest, have the cuckoo become indistinguishable to the alternate mother, and the cuckoo to chuck the other birds in the nest, would require hundreds of thousands or millions of attempts to establish. That's a trait that seems to me to be nigh unto impossible. On the other hand, if it's divine intent then God would seem to have a wicked sense of humor.
Given how large the other chicks are, that egg will probably not hatch. Even if it did, the bird would never make it. The cuckoo chick would make sure of that, even if the mother tried to feed it.

that was most likely a cuckoo baby with his instinct to back-push out other eggs and baby birds..
I was thinking the same!
Quite true. Dead giveaway. Always astonished that momma bird does not recognize the imposter and continues to feed it.

The nest looks crowded. I wouldn't be surprised if it is natural to get rid of the last egg. But yea, cuckoos are notorious for that.
