At age 57 I did my first headstand yesterday. If you can get a 57-year-old guy from Brooklyn to do a headstand, you can do anything. You are amazing, Adriene!
@@divyasri3873 , I would say I am "medium" fit and not overweight, but I had weak arms. So you can probably try to do the headstand without getting fit first. Let me know how it goes!
All other yoga you tubers go way too fast it's impossible to comprehend and moreover it's unsafe for beginners (even when it specifies it's for 'beginners') - you're definitely the best yoga instructor on TH-cam
I am mid 40's plus 200 lbs - I went as far as cradling the head in the hands and straitening legs. And that is where I stopped ... for today. I am very proud of myself and plan to continue and strengthen a bit each time to reach a headstand!!!!
I’ve only been practicing yoga for 3 months now and I’m following Adrien’s calendar for July. When I realized this is today’s practice, I was quite sad and afraid to be honest because I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it yet. I was expecting to be disappointed after the video. But then I got through it anyway because I made a commitment to myself to show up to my mat daily. I still wasn’t able to do the headstand like everybody else here but surprisingly I didn’t get disappointed with myself. In fact, I was happy I get to work with my body in building strength with integrity and in being gentle even when I can’t do it yet. Thank you Adriene for what you do. Thanks for this video for not making it feel like we have to be able to do it. In time, I will, but for now, namaste . 🙏🏻
Same here! Never ever feel that you should be able to do a pose. You would be surprised how many of us can't do it. I couldn't lift both leg so I practiced by switching them. I really felt my muscles.. Still more than I could do a few months ago! 😊 Show up, enjoy your time on mat and do your best without toxic thoughts. Nothing else matter! Congrats on your commitment, you are a star! Sending love ❤️
Be patient and gentle with yourself =) I started Yoga with Adriene around the same time you did. At the time I was doing one of her 30 days yoga journeys but, as a personal goal, I set myself to learn the headstand too. So I would come back to this practice every day after my daily video. On the first day, I couldn't do the full pose either. But I was still very content with myself because this video is built in a way that you feel like she is journeying slowly and mindfully with you and it's very comforting and uplifting. And you know what? To this day, if I were to say what I love the most about headstand, I would definitely say that it was the enjoyment of seeing the pose unfold a little more every day. It's really an enlightening and fulfilling experience to see the concrete results of your progressive and constant effort. Just a bit of daily ( not necessarily daily, I skip practice sometimes) commitment and mindfulness gets you there. And the beauty of it is how you learn to take it easy on yourself, to treat your body with love, respect, and patience and appreciate the short term evolutions that slowly pile up to take you to your goal. And before you even know it, you're doing a headstand! And you look back at your first day and you savor the fulfillment that the journey brings to you. Enjoy! Namaste =)
This video is like 5 years old but just wanted to come and say, I did a headstand today and I'm so proud of myself and I only got into yoga because of this channel so thank you
This is definitely the best way to learn the Yoga Headstand. Really important to understand the concept that the forearms take the bulk of the weight & the head only takes 10 >15% of the load. By learning this in stages you will strengthen your forearms and learn the correct technique. Don’t rush, be patient & it will come. The best video instruction on this area, as you would expect from an amazing teacher.
I said 6 months ago this the best instruction on the yoga headstand. Just to qualify, the importance of keeping the integrity of the shoulder girdle is vital. I am 62 and I spent ages with this posture, once I learnt not to collapse the shoulders then the rest of the pose followed quickly. Adrienne is brilliant in that she spends so much time on this principle, which shows the high quality of her instruction. She is an amazing teacher
I first did this yoga practice 1 year ago, I couldn't make it into head stand then. Now one year later, I think I did a little better. I still didn't quite make it into a full headstand, but I tried my best. At the end after trying headstand, and not getting into a full one. I just went to child's pose, and listened to your lovely voice, and breathing. I feel really proud of myself, that I tried, and didn't just think this is to hard I won't do it. I tried, and that feels so good. Thank you so much Adriene, I can't wait for tomorrows yoga, see you there. Namaste. 🙏🧡🦋
I did it!!! I've been practicing since the beginning of the lockdown and finally I did it today😊 I kept it for 1_2 seconds and then fell down and broke the curtain😂😂 Omg I have a tiny scar on my back but still so proud😄🥰
CONGRATS!!! This is inspiring to hear :) I just started practicing this yesterday for the first time in yeeeeears (when I tried it an injured myself)! Naturally clumsy yogis, *unite* ! lol
Congrats! I can't even take my feet off of the ground . Did you use any other videos to strengthen your arms? I feel like my shoulders are way too weak for this lol
Adriene - I have to tell you. I taught yoga for two years and never did inversions in class bc I have a deep fear of them. I watched this video for the first time 4 days ago, practicing everyday. I now can do a headstand. I could cry. Thank you so much! :)
My goal for this year is to do a headstand before my birthday!! Today was the day I held it for 60 seconds. Oh my! I had a total hip replacement December 23rd, 2020 and I am turning 70 on December 27th. Yoga with Adrien is the best! Thank you!
I can finally do a headstand after practicing over and over again within 3 days!! I've never thought that I would be able to do it! I mean, I'm not a sporty nor flexible girl.. So this is something I'm really proud of. At first I always fall to the front hitting my head so I got to put a bunch of pillows around me. Practicing on the wall is also an option! It'll make it much easier, and when you're ready, you can slowly step back from the wall. Also, don't put your arms too far away from eachother or else you're not gonna balance properly! Thank you sooo much! This video is really helpful!
For beginners, get close to a wall, it help a lot because you don't want to fall backward. I first tried at 59 years old. Never thaugh I could do it. I am proud of myself and give me confidence to do harder poses and keep challenging myself and being safe at the same time.
Yoga With Adriene This is a great vid thank you, i think i might start practicing this now :) Please tell me where you got those leggings from though theyre gorgeous!
stargirlpuffy They look like Teeki pants. I just discovered this brand and could not resist buying a pair of their "hot yoga pants": they have amazing prints, and these pants are really comfy, with a very good quality, plus they are environment-friendly (made from recycled plastic bottles). :)
DELIGHT ✨ | July 21, 2024 | Even after 4.5 years of daily practice I'm not yet ready for a headstand, but I do really appreciate this step by step tutorial which shows exactly where and how to build the strength to get there! 🙏
SHIFT day 9, I thought to myself there’s no way in heaven that I’d be able to do this! I’ve only been practicing yoga by following Adriene’s Yoga Calendar since HOME 2020. I thought to skip it but then I did it anyway, halfway during the practice something clicked and I could lift one foot, and then the other. Then I lifted both feet and even though it was far then perfect I ACTUALLY DID A FRIGGING HEADSTAND!!! OMG!!! I really could cry. I did fell over hard after another attempt against the door and my SO rushed to see wtf was wrong with me but at least I know I’d get better with practice!!! Thank you Adriene you’re amazing!!!!!
Hi Adriene! I just wanted to send a big thank you from France. I have been doing yoga for many years, and teaching for a few years. I have never been able to do a headstand, even during my intensive training with both instructors in person next to me. This morning, I watched your video, did all the preps, and felt like I got it, that I was going to be able to do it. So I tried, and I went all the way up and stayed there, with little tears of happiness. I discovered you only a few weeks ago, but I am so glad I did. MERCI !!
So I did this at my parent's house in my comfy shirt without a bra underneath... I kinda flashed my parents BUT I never was this close to an amazing headstand! Thanks Adriene, you rock!
After 35 years of Yoga and following this video, at age 64, this morning I did headstand successfully for the first time, seven slow breaths. Thank you.
I decided to switch around today's and tomorrow's practice since I'm going on a trip tomorrow and will be "forced" to do it at the crack of dawn (didn't want to have to hang upside down that early). I've been doing yoga since I was 14 (so for three years now) but I've never tried a headstand, and this was so much fun!!! I completely was not aware of my capabilities, and I'm super excited to keep working on it! Namaste everyone
I DID IT!!! I've been practicing this video everyday in the last week. At first I could only get 7 minutes in before I had to stop. But everyday I've been building strength in my core and arms and today, I DID IT!!! Thank you Adriene for helping build from the ground up.
@@tyunstarrr the first couple days I couldn't even get my feet in the air so no, I wasn't against the wall because there wasn't a fear of falling. Once I could get my feet in the air, I practiced near the wall and slowly inched away from it every time as I became more comfortable. Though surprising enough, the one time I did fall backwards (I tried rushing the before process), it didn't even hurt because you just kinda roll instead of crash. Once I realized that, I became even more confident.
After 10 days of consistent core strength building, I FINALLY DID IT. I did the headstand w so much ease. I’m so happy. 😭❤️ Thank you so much, Adriene. Much love to you. 💘
I was so shocked when my feet actually left the ground that I completely lost balance, fell backwards and landed on my laptop. The laptop broke. Great tutorial though!
Got about 9 minutes in and started shaking, proud of myself for making it that far and I look forward to coming back to this practice as I get stronger!
I was rather excited to see this today on the schedule. It had been five years since last recall doing a headstand. Going in, my arms and right shoulder were already sore. Not wure from what but I made sure to take care and follow the instructions carefully. I would recommend that any beginner, or person returning to this pose after a long while, watch Adriene first, especially when she gets to the part where she cups her hands in preparation for moving the legs upward. Watch each addition after that and then proceed. I did not make a full headstand today, but I did manage my legs bent and up for some moments. Listen to your body and follow the directions carefully. You should not feel strain in your neck. Come down if you do. I had that issue years ago because either I did not push up enough with my arms, or my head was not placed well. Enjoy. Expand day 19. 258 days in a row.
Hi. I am a 32 old male yogi of yours. I am about 25-30 days into daily yoga. The first week I was switching between your 20-40 minutes beginner sessions and then now following your first 30 days challenge. I just did your day 17. Tried this after the session and got to lifting the knees of the earth before the shoulders fatigued. I am going to work towards this, slowly but surely. Thanks for putting these guides out! Been a joy discovering yoga.
I can't believe I've just succeded in doing this!!! After almost 5 months since I started doing yoga following your videos (I've done the 30 days of yoga, the revolution one twice and now I'm halfway through the TRUE one) today I've decided to give it a try and it worked, easily!!! I can't thank you enough Adriene, not only for the changes in my body, but especially for the changes in my mind. You're the best!
18 minutes and I nailed it!!!! What a great video. I am absolutely buzzing! I swear my yoga mat is like my magic carpet, every time I step on it I go on a journey. Feeling and sending so much love to you Adriene and this whole community 🙏🏻💕 namaste upside down party people!! 🤗
Having to finally lift both of my legs away from the earth made me burst into tears (happy tears) i am so proud of myself and amused by how my body can develop so much strength and integrity that i wasn't aware of before starting yogo! Thank you Adriene, you really changed my life and i finally found a way to heal any anxiety or stress. I really love yoga-never thought i would!
You re amazing i was trying this for past 1 weak and i was not getting success but just watching your video for 12 min made me successful.. love from india... 🇮🇳❤️
This was such an intimidating video to see in this month's playlist! But I shook off the fear and tried to embrace the curiosity instead. I soon found I don't have anywhere near as much arm strength as I thought I did 😂 but I explored something entirely new today! Thank you for teaching me to be happy with the small victories
I tried this, and day 2 was able to get up with my knees bent for 10-15 seconds, only a couple seconds with legs up. So I decided to do some extra strength work doing dolphin with Adrienne, by the evening I got up in class with knees bent. Day 3 up with knees bent, and no strain in back or shoulders for 30 seconds, I am giving myself a 30 day challenge, however mentally I feel so much better. Thank you Adrienne for explaining this in baby steps, makes all the difference, my practice is much deeper now, due to this pose, dolphin and pressing into my arms and away from my ears, and into the ground. Not only in this pose however many others too. Thankyou - you are a gem!
I’ve been practicing headstands in class every week for the past month and didn’t get it until I watched your video. The slow breakdown really empowered me to take my time and now I’m able to do a headstand everytime I try! Thank you Adriene!
Love her variation of headstand practice for beginners wherein she conscientiously guide us to do it. Really perfect for those who’ve never done headstand. I was able to do it in 5 days, for 5seconds after more practice, I can now do it for more than a minute. Consistency is the key! :))))
Delight day 21🎉 this was a fun practice, thank you, Adriene. I'm not at getting both legs up yet, but I did manage to briefly lift one leg at a time. 💖🧘🏼♀️🙏🏻
As a person who's worked as support to health care providers, I've observed how important it is to give self-love, especially when undertaking challenges, whether physical, mental, social, emotional. Building a challenging yoga pose with such attention to detail and freedom from time pressure is an act of love to the viewer and self-love for those who use this view to build this pose into their practice. Thank you, Adrienne, and happy yoga to everyone willing to share this trip. Namaste
This is way too advanced for me right now but I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did, looking forward to the day I can come back and do the more advanced version, namaste everyone 💜
Thought it would take me so long to ever do a handstand, but had never tried. I just watched this, and successfully got up against the wall. Wow so invigorating! I didn't expect to feel so proud of myself but the step by step nature of the video made it achievable and so satisfying after the slow burn of the strengthening. Your videos are such an amazing gift you give to so many people, every day and with the power of the internet, for years afterwards. I always love reading everyones grateful and happy comments. Thank you Adriene! From G in Australia.
I loved it when you said cancel and clear after commenting on your arms .. now I know what to say to shift to positive thoughts .. thank you for all the lessons you are sharing with us .. much love from London x
I was afraid to click on this today, but Adriene hasn’t let me down yet, so I tired. The instructions are so clear, and while I’m not ready for lift off, I loved feeling my muscle engage and really try to get me there! 🙏🏼🥰 “saved” and I will definitely keep practicing
It is a great pose. I tried today for the first time in five years. Cannot believe I let that much time go in between. I remember when I first practiced it, it scared me quite a bit.
I've been looking forward to today all month! I only managed to lift one leg at a time, as it's my first time attempting headstand...but I'm sure with practice, I will get there. Thankyou so much, Adriene xxx
I did it!!!! I seriously cannot believe it, I set it as my 2019 goal and it’s not even April yet! I lasted some good two seconds up there because I got too excited but we’ll work on that! Namaste 🙏🏼
after months of failures, it was YOU and THIS VIDEO that made me do the headstand. unbelievably grateful! I don't know what it is about you, but you rock Adriene
Hey Adriene! I just tried this and it was my FIRST TIME EVER doing a headstand. I nailed it immediately! Going slow and building my foundation from the ground up was essential for this. It was so tricky for me to improve strength in my shoulder girdle but once I did that, the headstand came naturally. I'm so proud of myself and showed all my friends and family and I've got YOU to thank!
now that's the real definiton of step-by-step.I had tried a few others before without succeeding. but today I managed to do it on my first try without any injuries. yay 😀 thank you !
I love you so much right now. I've been trying to do a head stand for a while now on my own. After two month of being so frustrated I decided to look up how to do it properly and watched a couple videos. Non helped. As soon as I saw yours and tried it, I saw exactly what I was doing wrong and finally did it! Even with my legs high up!!!!!
Blessings to my yoga family. When I was a child, it was very easy. I was on my bed and doing headstand. Can you imagine I'm so scared doing it as an adult. Great practice, Adriene. Thanks, Adriene, for bringing me back to my childhood . Love ❤️. Namaste 🙏
I did it! I've always been fit, but never the most balanced person. I'm very bottom heavy so I honestly thought this was one of those poses I'd never be able to do. Huge boost for my confidence! Thank you for this!!
This was amazing! This is the only headstand practice I've found that doesn't rush and focuses on the foundations! I've been able to get into full headstand using a wall but thanks to you, today I got both knees into my chest and managed to balance for a fair bit without tipping over. My only issue now is that when I try to get my legs up, my body automatically tips to where it knows the wall is. Will keep trying away from the wall! :)
This was super challenging, 😅doing this 1st time, I'll keep practicing but it's just what I need to start this beautiful Sunday morning 🌅 this was super delightful. thanks Adrienne💞🌺, wish you all a lovely weekend.. Delight Day 21:07:24✅ nice to revisit again and again. Namaste😄🍀🌻🙏🏾
Well explained. I started with wall for few weeks. As an experiment for last 2 years, I m doing headstand 4-6 min every day (yes every single day, unless I m sick). I find amazing benefits. Good clarity in thoughts (less cloudy brain). I find my mind functioning faster, better.
I did it!!!!! I did it I did it! Adriene you have changed my life, thank you for sharing your bright light and wisdom with so many millions of people ❤️
Expand Day 19: When I was a kid my sister and I used to do headstand contests to see who could stay upside down longest, and I never lost my ability to do a headstand, all these decades later (I'm 50+) . I found Adriene's method more challenging than the way I learned. I think it might be helpful to first watch the video, then play it a second time and follow the steps. My husband walked in after I finished the video and I showed him the difference between the two methods. I found that when I did headstand Adriene's method but without watching the video it was easier for me. I found that at the step where I lift my feet and legs there is a lot of core involved! Also, too slow doesn't work, but not too fast either. Again, use your core!
I practiced doing a headstand behind a wall, and I finally got the hang of it. I can even do a headstand without a wall. 🙃 I love being upside-down. You're doing my favorite yoga pose. The headstand.🙃 You're pretty good at doing yoga, Adrienne. The longest I've held a headstand was about 5 minutes. I even got my sister Cayleigh doing a headstand and she can do it without a wall. I showed her how to do it.🤸🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️ Thank you for your guidance by doing a headstand step-by-step.
I didnt think doing a headstand was ever possible until i came across this video! Started off with the wall but wow, this is such a milestone for me. Continue doing what you do, Adriene!
OMG!!!! I've been following yoga with Adrienne's foundational poses and today was head stand. I was so terrified but said was gonna try at least. And BOOM!!! I did it😭😭😭.... I'm so shocked at myself right now... I love you so much❤❤❤❤❤
OH MY GOOOD! I DID IT ! I didnt believe I can do it some day but today.... I somewhere deep in me.... had feeling that I NEE to try it again... ad... I WAAS THERE! Of course it was next to wall but nevermind... I belive now that some day... i will be able to do it under the sky on the grass with NO wall behind me :) thanks Adriene ! :) thank you very much ! :)
+Cai Yuchen Thanks and SO ARE YOU ! :) You have to just believe that you CAN do it and practise few times... You will be able to do it with little help from wall after few tryes I promise :) JUst dont be afraid... accept your body and when you are afraid today, you can be strong and brave enough tomorrow ! :) good luck :)
It's 2019 and I just found this video. After trying to follow the step by step by other TH-camr and failing and ending up with a neck pain, I finally tried this and I DID IT!!!! It worked on the very first time I tried! Thank you so much, Adrienne!
I tried this video years ago and failed miserably haha. Now, about 3 years later of semi-consistent yoga I got into a headstand! It's all in the foundation, slowly building strength from the ground up. My shoulders are so tired now, haha, which I guess is GOOD! Thank you Adriene! Xxxx
I started with an inversion stool out of fear of injuring myself a month ago. But these steps have helped me get a proper headstand. First up against the wall and then got it after a few tries! Thanks Adriene!
I turn 48 tomorrow and I never thought I'd be able to do a headstand. I only stayed in the stand for a few seconds but I was able to breathe while I was there. Thank you!!! I feel strong and confident.
Omg you’re amazing. I’ve been trying to learn how to do this for a while and thanks to you and I just did my first yoga headstand! Thank you, thank you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S 2U and Benji💖😊🙏🏽I am "extremely" happy this journey is called "home". I honestly feel, this journey by far will be my most ultimate. I say this because, when i stumbled upon you (i beleive about a year and a half ago) I was "homeless". For almost a year my children and i had to live in a shelter and it was the utmost horrible experience of our lives. Everyday i tried to practice, i also dedicated myself to staying focused, positive, and strong in order to make my goals come true... i want to thank you Adrienne and my Yoga family(worldwide) for being the first true love and support that I've had in TRULY a very long time. I'm happy to say my children and i have been in our "New" home for about 4 months now💖👏🏽😁 and today was MY day1 in HOME JOURNEY and it felt great AND stiff at the same time but I accomplished it👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😁 my next goal is repurchasing my yoga tools🙏🏽 these hardwood floors are so mean to my bones🤣🤣🤣 Peace Blessings from a ForeignTraveler*TravelinForeigner🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮
Shift. I never would have chosen this video on my own, so this is good. I made it about halfway through and will keep trying. Thanks, Adriene! And good luck to everyone. 💙
I’m out of shape, I have joint problems, but i’m super eager. I really want to be able to hold a headstand for at least ten seconds. I’m going to leave this comment and come back to it. Wish me luck!
I wish you the best luck! I am (at least I thought I was) out of shape as well. But I've been doing the Home journey for like 25 days with some attempts for the headstand... Today I finally made it! Just believe to your body! I didn't expect it so I was super enthusiastic when it happend! My day is much better now. How is your progress?
I just want to thank you for being the best thing on youtube. I started doing yoga in April of this year, as we were going into lockdown here in California, and watching your videos have literally been keeping me alive during this horrendous year. I am so grateful
This is the best follow along tutorial for headstand that I could come across. I'll practice the movements everyday for 10-20 minutes until I can do a headstand. I'll update once I'm able to.
Adriene is such such good teacher. I've been lucky enough to already have a headstand in my practise but I didn't learn in such a precise way. I will definitely warm up to a headstand with this in mind in future. 🙏
Omg..what a presentation..I m a big fan of you…just tried different practices while watching you..it’s doing wonder…my upper back pain in the shoulder vanished in a seconds…i m feeling so light..thanks to my teacher my guru
I finally did it today!!! It took me less than a month. At first I thought I would never achieve it but I kept on trying. Your video was so helpful!! Love from Greece❤🇬🇷
I've been using this video to learn how to do a headstand and I honestly did not expect this pose to help with my anxiety as much as it has! It helps me focus on being in my own body and being aware of what my body can do on that day. It's a very meditative pose and I'm so glad I found this video! Love the YWA community ❤😀
At age 57 I did my first headstand yesterday. If you can get a 57-year-old guy from Brooklyn to do a headstand, you can do anything. You are amazing, Adriene!
Outstanding!!! Bravo!!! I'm 54 and this pose is on my agenda for this year!
most inspiring thing i have read this year!! :)
Wow!!!
You've inspired me 🙂
Plz once watch my headstand as well .. I'm Master in headstands....
It took me 8 weeks, but I finally did it. I can hold it for 3 minutes. Perseverance!
كنتي بتعمليها ع ايه ؟ الارض و ف الاول ع سرير...؟
How long did you practice for each day?
Rail Wall, I practiced twice a day, for 5-10 minutes each time.
Should I be fit and flexible already to do a headstand.. Or with practice can I do it without any other exercises?

How did it go Marisa ? I am obese and looking at this pose hesitantly, not sure about putting that much weight upside Down
You got this!
Same here!
Same here! Never ever feel that you should be able to do a pose. You would be surprised how many of us can't do it. I couldn't lift both leg so I practiced by switching them. I really felt my muscles.. Still more than I could do a few months ago! 😊
Show up, enjoy your time on mat and do your best without toxic thoughts. Nothing else matter!
Congrats on your commitment, you are a star! Sending love ❤️
ditto! we all got this!

I said 6 months ago this the best instruction on the yoga headstand. Just to qualify, the importance of keeping the integrity of the shoulder girdle is vital. Really well said. 100% agree. I am a complete yoga layman but Adriene makes me feel everything is possible with practice and patience.
Fatima Se lol
CONGRATS!!! This is inspiring to hear :) I just started practicing this yesterday for the first time in yeeeeears (when I tried it an injured myself)! Naturally clumsy yogis, *unite* ! lol
After I fell once, i started putting a bean bag in front of me as a precaution
Congrats! I can't even take my feet off of the ground . Did you use any other videos to strengthen your arms? I feel like my shoulders are way too weak for this lol
No pose is too beneficial to risk injury. Don't do any pose if you find it too difficult
Adriene - I have to tell you.
I taught yoga for two years and never did inversions in class bc I have a deep fear of them. I watched this video for the first time 4 days ago, practicing everyday. I now can do a headstand. I could cry. Thank you so much! :)
Can we work on handstand now?! :)
can you?
englerwhi thank u somebody agrees with me because she was talking for ever
very awesome!

I'm a 44 year old guy, and I've just done a headstand!! Thank you Adriene!

Just wanted to let you know, if nobody has said it before, you're like the Bob Ross of yoga. And yes, I mean that as a compliment!
Is it normal to feel nauseous after a first try? (I didn’t get to the part where I actually lifted my legs)

Hi
Oh yes
Tried the crow pose and had a "happy little accident" 😁
My goal for this year is to do a headstand before my birthday!! Today was the day I held it for 60 seconds. Oh my! I had a total hip replacement December 23rd, 2020 and I am turning 70 on December 27th. Yoga with Adrien is the best! Thank you!
It made me happy reading you, I’m sharing your joy, Susan, hope you’re doing great ❤️🩹
You did???
I can finally do a headstand after practicing over and over again within 3 days!! I've never thought that I would be able to do it! I mean, I'm not a sporty nor flexible girl.. So this is something I'm really proud of.
At first I always fall to the front hitting my head so I got to put a bunch of pillows around me. Practicing on the wall is also an option! It'll make it much easier, and when you're ready, you can slowly step back from the wall. Also, don't put your arms too far away from eachother or else you're not gonna balance properly!
Thank you sooo much! This video is really helpful!
Within 3 days...
You r giving me hope😍
Yea.. 3 days is more practical lol
I did it also for 3 days. It worked, thanks adriane
How old are you?
3 days only..... Kudos to you dear 👏
In quarantine... this is what I’ll be practicing on for the time being
Lol same here but how it goes with you for me i feel bored that when reach to the stand it fail so i really get bored 😞
Me too!
me three😁😁
Me too! I am no where near. It scares the crap out of me and my arms are so flippin weak! So this is my quarantine test haha
me too im having a headstand off with a friend when we finally meet back up :)
For beginners, get close to a wall, it help a lot because you don't want to fall backward. I first tried at 59 years old. Never thaugh I could do it. I am proud of myself and give me confidence to do harder poses and keep challenging myself and being safe at the same time.
wow great! But did your fingers hurt? I dont understand where I should put my hands, and my fingers hurt
Don't your neck and top of your head feel the pain?

Sometimes you just need to shift your perspective.

I'm not there mentally but my body is telling me to go for it. Soon!

Best yoga instructor ever.
Daw. Love you.
Isnt she?
MERCI !!
Julie Spiro so inspirational

So I did this at my parent's house in my comfy shirt without a bra underneath... I kinda flashed my parents BUT I never was this close to an amazing headstand! Thanks Adriene, you rock!

Haha that made my day Ruby-Lou! ;)

After 35 years of Yoga and following this video, at age 64, this morning I did headstand successfully for the first time, seven slow breaths. Thank you.
I am so impressed with how clear these instructions are that I could do it just with audio!
I never thought that I was this weak until I started yoga, but already getting stronger, thank you Adriene :)
Keep going Diana. Youll be a strong WOMAN anytime soon
SageMarie Ingersoll hi did you try practicing on the wall first?? What were the process that did you do?
@@tyunstarrr the first couple days I couldn't even get my feet in the air so no, I wasn't against the wall because there wasn't a fear of falling. Once I could get my feet in the air, I practiced near the wall and slowly inched away from it every time as I became more comfortable.
Though surprising enough, the one time I did fall backwards (I tried rushing the before process), it didn't even hurt because you just kinda roll instead of crash. Once I realized that, I became even more confident.
SageMarie Ingersoll how many days did you practice till you achieved it?
@@tyunstarrr I practiced everyday for a week and then I could do it.
SageMarie Ingersoll i tried doing it awhile ago and i can do it now!!

Going to need a stronger sports bra for this. Almost suffocated myself.

Me in a headstand: 🙃
So cute 🤣
Don't know why this made me laugh
Hahaa
hahahaha
I love this comment.
Never done yoga before. Could never do a normal handstand. Now i’m halfway in the air. Truly an amazing video! I’m surprised and so proud of myself.
I don't understand how we can be the same species. She is doing this while talking in the most relaxed voice!
I've been trying to do this pose just out of sheer improvisation and I could never get it until NOW! Awesome step-by-step video. Love it!
Use it. Rock it. Love hard. Breathe deep! xooxox
Hi,for how long did u practice until u could do it

Hi Adriene,
I'm an Italian girl, sorry for my english, I'm doing 30 days of yoga. I listen your advices and I do Sirsasana!!! I'm so happy!!!
It's call sirsaa aasan.
In Hindi language its called ..
Thank you, Georgia!
Hi from France 😃
I'm 55 and I just did my first head stand this morning. I'm so happyyyyyy 😃! Thank you 🙏
I loved it when you said cancel and clear after commenting on your arms .. now I know what to say to shift to positive thoughts .. thank you for all the lessons you are sharing with us .. much love from London x
Adriene giving calm instruction during the pose... I’m like 👀 WOW girl
It's the same for me. I was like "head stand it's not from me", but I've done more than I was expecting and I proud that I tried.
Namaste 🙏🏼
How many days will this yoga takes to complete sister????Will this headstand give pain to neck or not??
after months of failures, it was YOU and THIS VIDEO that made me do the headstand. unbelievably grateful! I don't know what it is about you, but you rock Adriene
Put this on last night & managed a bent knee head stand. Today I’ve done about 5!!! No wall to assist. This WORKS.
Day 21 of Delight ❤ I love this practice.
Love, love, love. Finished this practice with a big smile. Well wished everyone, namaste.
And the amazing Adrienne is talking during her 20 mins instructions! Amazing energy and strength!!!
Day 21 of delight. Only was able to do the first part, but I enjoyed watching how it was done. My goal is to do a full head stand. ❤

+Cai Yuchen Thanks and SO ARE YOU ! :)
You have to just believe that you CAN do it and practise few times... You will be able to do it with little help from wall after few tryes I promise :) JUst dont be afraid... accept your body and when you are afraid today, you can be strong and brave enough tomorrow ! :)
good luck :)

Hi! How's it going for you currently? I'm on my week 2 and just wanted to know how someone is doing after 2 months of this 😀
Thank you for your clear instructions Adriene. I did it after 3 days of practice.
No broken record. I literally need all this strength building and foundation 🙌🏽
Such a blessing to have your company during the quarantine ! Thank you so much for your amazing work
Adriene is such such good teacher. I've been lucky enough to already have a headstand in my practise but I didn't learn in such a precise way. I will definitely warm up to a headstand with this in mind in future. 🙏
So, I just subscribed because you call us “my friends” and I love that
Omg..what a presentation..I m a big fan of you…just tried different practices while watching you..it’s doing wonder…my upper back pain in the shoulder vanished in a seconds…i m feeling so light..thanks to my teacher my guru
