Thanks for the great exercises. I learned to handstand against a wall at age 60 and built up strength by increasing the time I was up. Its a fabulous upper body exercise and I love doing it. I start each day first thing by going up.
Hearing that you've learned handstands at the age of 60 is inspiring. I'm now learning handstand and I'm 59. To get extra help and inspiration, I have started training gymnastics for adults. It's good for the whole body, maintaining strength, balance and mobility.
Your videos are so much better than others I've seen for a few reasons: 1. No gung-ho ego-driven nonsense, 2. Great pedagogical style, 3. British accent.
Now, this is exactly what I needed! Most tutorials I've seen just tell you to practice with a wall or your feet on a chair but I just can't. I obviously have to work much more on my strength. So happy I came across this video 😊
Been going at my own pace developing strength & flexibility. Took me 6 weeks to get both legs straight with wall handstand at 50 with extra weight. Working on improving my form, still going at own pace.
Thank you so much for this routine! I started 3 days ago and so far can't do a handstand with the other foot starting on the table. However with your exercises I do feel stronger in my shoulders already! I'm 62 and dedicated to nail the handstand.
I have no strong desire to do a handstand but the shoulder strength, flexibility, and balance developed with your exercises will benefit me in my climbing. And, who knows? Maybe I’ll be moved to do a handstand!
I can't believe I hadn't come across your channel before today! Your explanations are amazing 😍 and I'm learning so much more about how the body works. Thank you!
FINALLY I found someone who actually knows how to do a full handstand tutorial. My main problem was strength which I don't have and I was looking for exercises which would help. All other tutorials that I saw where explaining only balance which is kinda annoying. So glad I found this channel
Thank you so so so much ma'am, this video is so helpful AND positive. (It might seem weird) i was feeling really down due to some reason but felt really positive after watching it.
This is just honestly amazing. I'm so glad I found your video! Also, thank you for leaving out the wall assisted handstands! This is such a crutch and practicing balance from the center of the floor makes it so much more comfortable to achieve handstands.
This is great thank you. This was one of those skills I could do when I was young, I tried to do it in my 30s and realized I couldn’t do handstands anymore. I’m going to use this video as a guide on how to get it back!
TH-cam recommended this video of yours, and I didn’t even want to do a handstand, but the way you instructed was so clear and cohesive, so I subscribed you lol, just in case I want to do handstand in the future :))
This was extremely helpful, I myself have strength in my shoulder but because of my height I have stiff hamstrings which always made doing any type of yoga a pain, I still can't do downdog. This'll definitely help with my progression. Thank you!
I am curious how tall you are that it could effect flexibility in any body part. It shouldn't assuming you're in proportion & haven't any injuries or abnormalities, besides height. All yoga poses have starter poses /beginners versions & down dog can be done with heels up & legs bent.
This is concise and full of good info. I am getting it and just needs practice for consistency. For those who want to get it. Just be patient and practice. Build strength and practice. May take time. It took me more than a year I started at 59
I hate when people try to truncate things but after watching this if you did these everyday you will develope compression, coordination, and balance to do a handstand. Awesome video
Great instructions! thank you! After a few decades of being a physical performer (aerialist) and never being injured, I went to a handstand training session and….got injured! I was encouraged to push through and just be gun-ho! First injury. Your instructions seem logical and educated. Much appreciated!
This is genius! 💡I just love your way of filming, putting everything together and explaining! Will try these to get to my first handstand at some point. 💪🙏
Brilliant advice! Thank you. I think I'd have progressed faster and got injured less had I seen something like this earlier on in my handstand journey.
Your video is awesome! Not many people show the exercise form different perspectives, which really informs your audience! Some youtuber dont do that and thats why Im liking you! Keep it up Mr Livinleggings!
Sooooo do olympic weightlifting and military press and try again later? What do you think about learning headstand first and practicing pushing up from there? Or more like headstand against wall to get used to the position and how to tighten your body, doing perhaps pushups like that and slowly trying to balance moving legs away from the wall?
Omg I just discovered your channel and I LOVE it! You explain everything so well and so detailed, it just makes me want to start already! Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into these videos. I'm going to watch them all over time and give it all a try!
I can’t do a headstand and so shouldn’t offer any suggestions :-) but I’ll bet that doing daily dead hangs for a few minutes (cumulatively) would be great for shoulder flexibility. Thank you for this video and all others, you’re super! Jz
Thank you for your great videos. I seem to kick too much, so I will keep practising. I can hold a handstand against a wall for a long time, but not without a wall, so I know I lack balance (yet!). I notice that you start your handstand with your hands on the floor and kick upwards. I throw myself from standing, like I would with cartwheel. Maybe that's my problem.
I just found your channel and I AM IN LOVE! You really are covering all the things I wanted to know for so long - thank you! Also may I just say I am in awe of the production of your videos. Happy to be a new subscriber and I can't wait to incorporate the new things I learned into my training. :)
Great video Great workout Great channel Great content Great athlete Great motivation and inspiration keep doing what your doing and I Will always support you and your channel and thanks for the upload much respect
Tons of fundamental body weight exercises. So many in fact that I intend to do something everyday for just seven minutes in stead of joining a gym, for now.
I'm working on scapula shrugs and having a fair amount of discomfort in my wrists. Do you have a video with strength and flexibility exercises for my wrists? Thanks for your time and help!
Where have you been all of my life. 8-) Awesome content. Clear, concise and wonderful techniques/tips. Thank you thank you thank you. You got your self another sub. Keep up the awesome content.
Might be a repeated question... but why not do kick ups against the wall to get the feel of standing on your hands.? With a bolster vertically there you'll tackle fear that you'll be bouncing your head against the wall. It helped me a lot to learn to stand free.
