- While shooting with the DJI Ronin MX, we were also playing around with the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 setup. Given its price and the buzz around, we had to get one to use for shooting our b-roll and for just playing around. And we love it.
Manu shows how to balance it, a couple of apps to shoot with, a dual-camera setup to demonstrate how steady it works and more.

Finally someone did the intro right on this Equipment. You gave the all important steps in actually setting it up. Everyone else skips over it which makes no sense. Well done!!

You can pretty much start the video at 4:55 but this is the best video I have come across too quickly and complately explain relavant useful setup and function on this Dji Osmo. His timing and screen presence are just perfect! Does not over explain and importantly, under explain. I went through about five truly annoying posts before finding this one!
This should be the top hit for this Gimbal . Watched all the videos and after a week finally figured the correct setup due to this video.10/10
I bought one of these ages ago and couldn't get on with it and tutorials were so hard for me to follow because the host talked 19 to the dozen and I couldn't follow it. It was all too fast for my anxious brain. It has sat in the drawer unloved. You have changed this - great delivery, I could get it, I am using it and enjoying it Thank you so much - what a brilliant teach session.
I agree 100% that you did a superb instructional video on how to set up the Osmo Mobil 3. I returned my first one thinking that it was broken only to discover that I did not know how to operate it due to other videos explaining the device not being as good. Thanks so much for your video. I'm a happy camper with my new Osmo Mobil 3

You can re-position the active track so you aren't centered in the middle, just use the joystick to re-frame yourself :D

Dude what a great video. I played this of course to get info and details about the DJI product as I purchased one. But two things happened; one there was good info about the gimbal and second was your content. It was awesome. After watching it to get the details about the MIMO I had to watch it again just to check out your shooting and your location and people used for the demo. Loved the fact that you used family. Your son was awesome and you two just seemed to be having a blast messing around. The nearly 12 minute video was fun, entertaining, light and humorous and had good videography usage. Well done. Oh yes, the gimbal is pretty cool. Cheers!
Thanks so much. We put many hours into our videos to make them fun and memorable. We also wanted to show many examples of the gimbal at work. And, yes, my son is one of my favorite actors to work with. Hah.

Same here. Bought it from Best Buy and felt discouraged. Within five minutes of watching this video I was able to shoot footage and control the device.

Hey great video! You actually have the option to reposition your tracking in the shot. Just make it follow you and then turn the angle with the joystick 😉

you can move the target track by locking on and then use the joystick to move the picture. works every time and your track point can be off to one side.

This is an excellent video tutorial, hats off, I bought my DJI Osmo Mobile 3 on Amazon for my daughter in 2020, but she never used it, so I decided to spend more time learning more about how to use myself it because my goal to turn on the active track feature when I deliver a video presentation by myself with my own tripod at conferences. The gesture control is a little tricky, and if you have more advice or instructions on using Active Track + Gesture Control, I would welcome your feedback, Sir! Thank you, Karl Weaver

You can move the active track with the joystick. If you move your subject to any of the corners of the screeen, the gimbal will more or less keep it in the same area.

To make setup easier i have a small piece of tape on the back of the phone where the right position for balancing point is

FilmicPro told me they have not yet received a sdk kit from DJI. That's why they cannot support Mobile 3 yet.

I had a fully motorised gimbal setup for my cameras, but i found it was not worth it, so I got rid of the gimbal and all the expensive accessories, and I shot using tripods and handheld. But I have just bought the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 to use with my smartphone and because it is so small and because it works really well with the well thought out app, I am going to use it and my phone to capture the action shots I need.
Enjoy shooting your son "on the run". You've got about 6 months before he leaves you in the dust. Thank you for great video, I just got one of these delivered a few days ago...your video really helped me out here in Colorado. cheers, BW
