    Great tips. Didn't know the 1h/2h grips improved value! Definitely did not know you could sell to lords. I was amazed to see you had 27k influence. I'm 100+ hours into my game and I've barely hit 500 lol. Of course I keep spending it to make armies and whoop ass, but I haven't spent that much really (maybe 2 or 3 hundred total spent). Every video on smithing says just keep buying pugios and tribal throwing daggers to get materials, but I've found that after I did that the initial first time, none of the cities ever sell more than 1 now...I'm pretty sure at least a few game years have gone by since then too.

    • @bim_94
      @bim_94  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I used footage from various videos as well as recordings specifically for this - the high influence is from my Empire only run where I never looked at it - it’s funny because in my Battania only run I ended up running out, odd.
      In both of those videos I was smithing and was excited when I found a stack of 20 Pugios - I’m my new video that I’m still editing I banned smithing and literally every town had a stack of 100 of them 🤣 I nearly cried!
      Oh and in regards to selling to lords, you will be selling at a loss compared to towns, unless you get 2/3 specific perks that increase selling to males/females etc BUT I’d say it is still a good idea to dump $400k-$1m in one transaction, especially if the smithed swords are so easy (and cheap) to make. Just bear that in mind when you decide to sell!

    Came here expecting to already know what was presented. Left with new knowledge. Might be interesting to see the level 150 charm perks are actually useful (decreased barter penalty) in this context.

    • @bim_94
      @bim_94  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Charm is so much easier and more enjoyable to level than Trade (in my opinion) so this might be just as good - in terms of selling crafted weapons, I don’t like the interface when trading as you can’t see stats or what you’ve marked to keep etc.
      It’s amazing to me that they come back with more money after some time has passed, imagine doing this for 3/4 cycles!

    Indeed, very good. Here's some more tips when you need nice metals to smith, in towns, also buy pitch forks for wood, fine steel spears, pugio are the best of course, but also Tribesman throwing daggers are also really good. Any Spatha's (fine, steel, narrow fuller), battle axes, wide leaf spear, long fine steel spear. Some have an additional lumber, some do not, but they all give nice metals.
    Make sure to give at least one companion the practical smelter skill, you'll smelt three times as much with one person.
    When you gain huge amounts of money you can buy lots of weapons in towns (which nobles cannot give you), so you might switch between selling to nobles and buying in town, since in town you can pay for all your needs with all your weapons, basically making towns your income. I didn't know about the nobles, thanks for that!
    If you have a big army you can also give your soldiers a lot of XP by 'throwing away' weapons and gear' to give them big boosts, making them elites.

      Love these tips thank you!
      I always forget which weapons are the good ones to buy for smithing, I knew wooden hammers are great (+3 hardwood) but I'll add pitchforks to my list!

      They sell som each day, though i dont think they physically sell it to towns as they still "sell" it if they get captured. Also, i dont think you can give it to your caravans. The only time i've been able to get the barter menu is when im in a kingdom, and they are leading a party. You don't seem to get the option when they are in your army either.

      And I saw your comment on the other question and yes it is still working but it is sold at like 50% reduced price but the alternative is selling one weapon per town as by the end the weapons are so valuable that a normal town might not be able to afford it!

Is this normal or do I need a perk to get the most value, or is it a trade-off for working around selling to settlements? • @bim_94
      @bim_94  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re absolutely right, you will be selling at a loss but for the cost of the materials it’s still overpowered if not maybe slightly more balanced and you are able to drop $1m in one transaction. but if we’re going for fast riches there are 2 perks one in trader and one in steward (I think!) it’s about selling to nobles. Does this method still work? (Selling).
    And how exactly do the mechanics of the method work? Do the lords independently then go and sell those items with no trade penalty therefore increasing their gold stockpile? Or is the money just coming from thin air?

    • @theasiancow1860
      @theasiancow1860 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also, shouldn’t you always grab the trade penalty perk? You say that if you’re the one smithing it makes sense to take the stamina reduction one. Regardless, your companions can’t really sell the items right? So doesn’t it make more sense for you to just take the selling perk regardless?
      And does that perk affect bartering? I assume not

    • @bim_94
      @bim_94  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Still works! I'm not sure exactly what happens if I'm entirely honest, I know In some instances money just happens for NPC's and other times it's transactional - but waiting a week always makes the clan leaders barter gold increase. Not sure if they're draining a towns gold or the knock on effects of this (bugger party size/more upgraded troops etc) and just to clarify it's clan leaders only, all other lords seem to always have exactly $1,000
      The perk choice is personal preference, if you end up getting the final perk and make masterwork weapons then you're already selling at silly prices so for me I like to make slightly more and sell for slightly less. This also means you can smith more before having to rest. But it's of course personal preference, if you're selling in towns you may only be able to sell 1 per town or might have to spend a few weeks selling to a clan leader and building up their cash reserves, but if we're at that level you're probably already at $10m and if someone was to do this for a world conquest then you'd likely just stop smithing at that point

      @@bim_94 no, no. That was certainly eloquent enough and extremely helpful. Your smithing point was also completely valid, especially considering the fact that past very early game smithing materials are extremely easy to get.
      I normally roll with a coalbiter that I can use as a melee infantry captain, a scout/bow captain, and myself as mandatory party members. I usually am able to get my coalbiter up to around 150-200 smithing pretty quickly so wasn’t sure I should personally take the smithing or $ perk. Regardless, I think you’re right and both options are valid. But considering offloading is the biggest issue and trade price doesn’t help the barter price, I think the smithing option is probably optimal.

      @captainuzumaki6992 ah right, so I use one companion, Normally my wife, to be the only refiner - and I use her mainly for the lower end materials as I more often run out of those and I buy Pugios and other daggers that give fine steel. I like my stamina to be spent in smithing so I prefer to travel and buy these daggers than spent time refining

    When I attempt to sell the smithed items to other lords they are treating a 17k sword in a town, for only 3-4k. Why?

    • @bim_94
      @bim_94  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The value goes down but there are 2 perks that help offset this, one at charm 150 that improves barter penalty with lords of the same/different culture (depending which one you pick)
      And Trade 225 gives -50% barter Pemulwuy which is huge.
      BUT in my opinion, even selling smithed items at a loss may still be more efficient, you can quickly make a massive stack of crafted weapons and need to take a year to sell them full price, or - call a clan leader and still make a crazy amount (even at a loss) in one transaction, and the beauty is next time they will have even more denars on them (which is how I got that one clan leader to have over $1m)

      I’m not 100% what the question is sorry, but hopefully this answers:
      Smelting unlocks parts, so if you want to start smithing 1h weapons but don’t have the parts you want, all you need to do is make the cheapest 1h weapon you can, make an absolute heap and then smelt it down again. Repeat until you have more parts you can use!

      That being said there are two main perks that improve this, an early Charm perk that improves selling to males/female’s AND a 225 trade perk that reduces the trade penalty to Lords by -50%. So I’m thinking clan leaders have the income from their properties but there’s no actual use for it?
      That’s all speculation on my part BUT I do know that if a faction isn’t doing well and can’t afford peace then the AI forces YOU to pay THEM - so if you defeat a kingdom but do this method to their kingdom ruler it might mean cheaper/proper peace deals? None of this 100k/day for peace with a kingdom with 0 lands? Again speculation though

      The fun part about it is strategy.. can you recruit and train a strong big army before war time comes? can you survive and win a war while outnumbered and outranked with strategy? can you lead your army in battle with low casualties with low tier troops? can you manage your army expenses...etc etc... if all you care about is money exploits then this is no longer bannerlord and it will become boring like Playing grocery store simulation 😂. I am actually here trying to learn how smithing works and how to make good weapons for personal use and the market as I just started playing the game few days ago. I usually get enough money smithing orders. 😊.. though I am still struggling with war mechanics as i get defeated most of the time.. super hard to lead an army while arrows flying and heavy cavalry can come from behind you and take your head 😂
      Edit: oh I am always the first to die in battle 😂🤦

    • @bim_94
      @bim_94  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @techach3490 the unfortunate thing is that there isn’t actually any penalties to being in debt so low money only really gets in the way of recruiting. You can win a $40k noble horse at a tournament and fully equip a companion/set up caravans/workshops.
      Personally I like getting a few million via smithing then just forgetting about money because it really is a redundant mechanic. I think the game will run as well if there was no such thing as money as the party cap is more than enough to balance the game - you’d remove all realism and roleplay value (and I wouldn’t like that) but it’s an interesting point I think.
      I had written a large reply to this previously but I lost it because my baby stole my phone I hope I’m didn’t forget anything 🤣
