I made this channel to help people like me. People who don't know anyone with a doctorate degree or anything about higher education, but I knew I wanted to get a PhD. I knew I wanted to be a doctor! With your support we can work together to create a resource to demystify graduate school and encourage more underrepresented people to thrive in doctoral programs!
I'm a few days late here, but I just wanted to say that this is such a well-put and important to remember point; the dissertation is never going to be incredible, but *useful* is the goal. And especially in the humanities, it's really a *draft* of your first book--so it's kind of implied it isn't even done yet!

I discovered your channel two days ago. Am currently in the last leg of my PhD writing, struggling to tie the loose ends together, questioning everything I did till now and wondering whether any of it is making any sense. Your words were just what I needed. And although I may still go in a downward spiral on opening my word document tomorrow, it helps to know that I can remind myself of your thoughts here and try and push myself to keep at it till the whole darn thing is finished. Thanks for your videos :)

I am so happy to be able to watch your informative videos again! My previous TH-cam account was started with my undergrad email and when that expired, I didn't know how to recover the account, so I started a new one with a new address! That being said, I am sure that your dissertation is well researched and will impress! I was so busy last semester that I didn't have time to keep up with your latest videos. Now that the holiday break is here, I am working my way through them!

I love your videos! So busy this semester! I finally had my committee set up and the form filled out. However, I managed to spill my latte all over it! Now, I have to get it resigned, which will be embarrassing! I am teaching again this semester, but I only have 30 students instead of 60, so it won't be as busy. Otherwise, I am just trying to stay in the game!@@BrisaMarie
