Hey hope you’re doing well. I was wondering if you had any advice on what type of job/ work experience you think would be benefical for a career in accountancy. I’ve been looking for jobs but didn’t know what specifically would be useful and be entry level. Thank you
If you’re applying for a school leaver or graduate opportunity you don’t need specific work experience but you could look at a short 2-3 day stint just to get some experience. If you’re looking for an entry level role then that could be in AP/AR.
So if you complete external auditing at level 4 you will be exempt from Assurance! Or you could complete both tax modules I.e. Personal and Business tax and be exempt from principles of taxation.
Is it possible to become a qualified accountant without any work experience at all ? Just via the exam route. Essentially to become qualified and work for myself. Thanks for the vid.

Check out the below link: www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/qualifications/glance/acca/minimum-entrance.html If not, then you'd do Foundation - so if you want to go straight into ACCA but don't meet minimum requirements, then Foundation maybe for you.

One thing to be aware of is a lot of sponsors are reluctant to sponsor visas for certain roles due to costs and there being enough U.K. based talent.
Not necessarily as you may go into a level 4 apprenticeship after say a levels or equivalent but depends on the employer / learning provider they may require you to complete a level 3 apprenticeship first
part I left school at 15 with no qualifications and I became an ACCA member when I was 24 I first did Pre Senior General Commercial course, Next year I did Senior General Commercial course, I then did a two year course, Ordinary National Certificate in Business Studies, This allowed you to become an ACCA student and provided you passed certain subjects at credit level, you got exemptions, So I got 4 exemptions. In my day there were 4 parts, 4 papers in each part. You had to pass all or you had to take them all again., If you failed one with a good fail you would be referred in that subject and allowed to take that paper, If you failed you had to take them all again. I failed twice in Part 3 before getting through and then passed Part 4 first time. So I qualified at 24 and I already had my 3 years experience completed. So even though you leave school as a so called failure, It is not too late, to get a good professional qualification.
When you say 3 years of relevant experience, what exactly is that? I've looked on one of the websites but it isn't really defined. In one company it takes 5 years to go from assistant to associate and another 10 to become a senior. Then 3 on top of that... or is it 3 years of producing accounts, what if this comes without the higher job titles?
Relevant work experience can be across fields so it doesn’t have to be financial statements it can be audit, tax, commercial finance etc. There are requirements for each specific body but broadly speaking as long as the experience is linked to finance in some way it should count. You definitely shouldn’t be waiting 5-10 years to accumulate this experience

Wa alaykum as salam you get the 450 days experience via a training contract with an employer. As you've completed a degree why don't you apply for a graduate scheme. You can see if you meet the minimum entry requirements (I've done a video on this) and then apply.

Hello I have experience on bookkeeping 3 years in uk. And I have degree an account in Brazil. Can I go to the level 4 AAT straight? Is there some way I don’t make aat level 4 and go directly to maat?
Yes you can go straight into the level 4 With the second question check out the below link as to what qualifications you need to become a MAAT www.aat.org.uk/membership/professional-membership/full-membership-maat
Assalam brother. I have good GCSES and A level passes but my a level grades are not good in enough to get into a reputable university or an ACA school leaver scheme. Should I approach accounting firms to do a level 3 apprenticeship? And after this what should I do? Go on to level 4 and then ACCA? Finally overall how many years would this take. The level 3/4 and then ACCA.
Wa alaykum as Salam you’ve answered your own q yes progress through aat and then do ACCA or equivalent this route should take you around max. 6/7 years to complete.
Hiya, I have a BTEC extended diploma (not related to finance or business), is it still possible to apply for an AAT apprenticeship? If so, what levels would you recommend I start with?
Assalamulaikum brother, How do i register for ACCA from bangladesh. I have my olevel and alevel results are average. Do i need to Foundation. And lastly, is it too late to start for ACCA I'll be 19 this year.
Yes but at this stage you may be going for an entry level role as an apprentice or accounts clerk you wouldn’t be applying for chartered accountant roles until you build up experience and qualify
Assalam u alaikum brother, I'm a CA final student currently in India after qualifying CA, how much package i can expect as a fresher CA in london... Jazak Allahu khayra in advance
Wa alaykum as salam it really depends on the quality of your experience - if it's transferable then around £50k if it's not you may be offered lower salaries.
should i apply for level 4 or level 3 if i have decent a-levels and gcses... i have been looking at training contracts and i'm not sure which ones to go for
So I would recommend Level 3, there’s a lot of assumed knowledge at Level 4 and I’ve seen people start at Level 4, found it tough, then gone back to Level 3. If your a-levels are decent then do a school leaver programme where chances are you will be trained in the ACA! This video is more aimed at those with no qualifications! I’d recommend checking out my school leaver video for more information.
@@FehzanMehdi yes I have been applying for the all the school leaver programmes i could find but there are also some industry firms like virgin media offering AAT at level 3 and I am not sure whether to apply to those as well or If i will be underselling myself and it will be a waste of time starting at level 3 when I already have a-levels.
@@kainatali6178 nope not a waste of time at all! I recommend to students that they apply to all types of school leaver programmes as firstly you want to keep your options open and secondly just because you apply doesn’t guarantee you will get the placement! Starting off at Level 3 isn’t detrimental, that’s where I started! Yes it may take you slightly longer but you may find it easier to adjust to rather than diving straight into the ACA / ACCA! If you haven’t studied accounting before doesn’t matter if you have a a-levels or not as this will still be new to you! Level 3 is equivalent to A-levels anyway My advice is apply everywhere you can, keep your options open and then decide on a scheme!
Yes you can do CFAB route however the CFAB is the first six exams of the ACA. If you have no qualifications the AAT and ACCA Foundation are probably better as it covers more of the basics!
Fehzan Mehdi yes but still candidate with no prior qualification can write CFAB. Right and become eligible to write prof and adv level of ACA? But this route gonna be hard for him as s/he having no prior accounting qualification.
Yes so you can do CFAB and then do ACA however I did not speak about this option as the AAT and the ACCA Foundation are more appropriate qualifications to begin with. Technically you could complete CFAB and ACA and go from no qualifications to chartered accountant in 3 years. Is that likely? Not really. Would an employer give you a training contract with no qualifications? Again, highly unlikely. Hence why I speak about the two easier routes in this video. Don’t want to sell a dream which is not realistic!
@@lustforlife247 no you don’t need the experience whilst studying for it. So you can go ahead and commence the qualification if you like! You need 3 years experience to become a member of the ACCA
Assalamu-alaikum I just want to know, does anyone having a graduation degree from his native country can get admission or start his ICAEW journey and come to uk....???? Is that possible....or one do have to get one uk degree and then can start his ACA journey.

The only private university I’m aware that teaches icaew is BPP - many people study for a degree before moving on to the ACA qualification or equivalent on graduate studies
currently i am doing 3 alevels including a level accounitng, would i be able to jump straight into an ACCA qualification? if so at what level could i start at? Secondly, would i need to do AAT level 4 and then move on to ACCA?
Yes you can straight after a levels so long as you meet the entry requirements which I believe is 2 a levels at pass grade id double check on their website. If you don’t achieve pass grades you can still do the ACCA but you’d have to do the ACCA foundation.
@@FehzanMehdi I couldnt find the link. But i mean that while learning to wards ACCA does that include me being in a role working to wards this qualification such as an apprentiship. Hello I have experience on bookkeeping 3 years in uk. And I have degree an account in Brazil. Can I go to the level 4 AAT straight? Is there some way I don’t make aat level 4 and go directly to maat?
Yes you can go straight into the level 4
With the second question check out the below link as to what qualifications you need to become a MAAT

Salam bro, i have btec extended diploma level 3 in IT and Cambridge technical in business and finance in level 2, can i go straight to acca?
Wa alaykum as Salam if the level 3 is equivalent to 3 a levels then yes you should be able to
Great video!! We need more of these to educate people💪🏼
Thank you for your continued support!
@@FehzanMehdi I've come across this channel due to Abu Musa's Instagram Story.
You know when Abu Musa recommends a channel, it must be the real deal
Assalam brother. I have good GCSES and A level passes but my a level grades are not good in enough to get into a reputable university or an ACA school leaver scheme. Should I approach accounting firms to do a level 3 apprenticeship? And after this what should I do? Go on to level 4 and then ACCA? Finally overall how many years would this take. The level 3/4 and then ACCA.
Wa alaykum as Salam you’ve answered your own q yes progress through aat and then do ACCA or equivalent this route should take you around max. 6/7 years to complete.
@@FehzanMehdi oh okay. How hard would you say the ACCA exams are? Are they easier than A levels?
Hiya, I have a BTEC extended diploma (not related to finance or business), is it still possible to apply for an AAT apprenticeship? If so, what levels would you recommend I start with?
That’s absolutely fine is it worth 3 a levels? If so level 3/4 would be most suitable for you
@@FehzanMehdi Thank you for replying! I had a triple Distinction* with the diploma although I think it is equivalent to A levels but I am not sure
Assalamulaikum brother,
How do i register for ACCA from bangladesh. I have my olevel and alevel results are average. Do i need to Foundation. And lastly, is it too late to start for ACCA I'll be 19 this year.
Wa alaykum as Salam no deffo not too late id visit your local ACCA website that will have more info for you
What about someone with AFA MIPA qualifications. Is that not a proper accountant?
First time I’ve heard of that body - having a brief look at their website seems on par with the rest but definitely not instantly recognisable.
I currendly pass 41 from 49 modules for my businness adm degree(at a greek uni) .. Can i register for aca or they need more qualification?
If you have a degree you should be able to register you can even register with a level qualifications.
Will they even hire me sir,When they see am Chartered Accountant but have no formal qualifications not even GCSE
Yes but at this stage you may be going for an entry level role as an apprentice or accounts clerk you wouldn’t be applying for chartered accountant roles until you build up experience and qualify
@@FehzanMehdi InshaALLAH,Thanks brother because even i dont have any formal qualifications
Level 3 is equivalent to A-levels anyway
My advice is apply everywhere you can, keep your options open and then decide on a scheme!
@@FehzanMehdi thank you!
No worries
Good
How about CFAB route to ACA(UK)?
@@FehzanMehdi do you still need 3 years work experience to study ACCA foundation? Or can you gain that experience whilst completing it?
@@lustforlife247 no you don’t need the experience whilst studying for it. So you can go ahead and commence the qualification if you like! You need 3 years experience to become a member of the ACCA
Assalamu-alaikum
I just want to know, does anyone having a graduation degree from his native country can get admission or start his ICAEW journey and come to uk....????
Is that possible....or one do have to get one uk degree and then can start his ACA journey.
Wa alaykum as Salam you can do so with a degree from your native country - the reason why people do it with a U.K. degree is they come on a graduate visa.
@@FehzanMehdi so I have just completed my BBA in Accounting, I wish to pursue ICAEW , I am from Bangladesh.
I want to come to UK to study ICAEW, can you suggest me, which university is best for ICAEW and also what kind amount I am required to finish my ICAEW.
From tuition fees to everything.
It will be very benefitial for me...
@@FehzanMehdi okay thank you! also it says i need to be employed in the same role. What does it mean by that?
Thanks Varnika I’m a bit unsure as to what you’re referring to. Can you please send me link or extract
@@FehzanMehdi I couldnt find the link. But i mean that while learning to wards ACCA does that include me being in a role working to wards this qualification such as an apprentiship. They all seem to want part qualified accountants or someone that has done AAT. is there any good websites to find an apprentiship to help me? Ive tried the GOV website but its not very helpful. However, if i was to pass my a levels what level should i start with ACCA.
Why don’t you just apply for school leaver programmes with firms in the top 10 once applications open in September?
Brother, I am studying AAT Level 2 currently, I wanted to ask can i get a temporary/work experience type of accountant job while I am studying ?
Yes ofc you can there are apprenticeships on offer which you could apply for they train you in the AAT. The pay isn't great however it gives you valuable work experience!
Good video, very informative 👍
Thanks for the feedback appreciate it!
Salaams brother
I have Alevels in Maths Biology and Chemistry, what would be the best route for me to become a chartered accountant ? I don’t fully understand the route to becoming a chartered accountant, is there a specific degree for chartered accountant or is it through experience as a normal accountant Jzk
Wa alaykum as salam you don’t need a specific degree can go in with any degree but there is also the apprenticeship route after your a levels. I was an apprentice and am a big advocate for apprenticeships. Lots of videos on my channel talking about this
@@FehzanMehdi Oh right I see, Jzk for the help

CAN YOU START SELF EMPLOYED WITH NO QUALIFICATIONS AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THE BASICS , WHAT YOU REALLY WANT FROM AN ACCOUNTANT IS A SAUL GOODMAN STYLE A PERSON WHO KNOWS ALL THE LOOP HOLES WHICH CANT BE TAUGHT IN COLLEGE !!!
Yes you could
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
How can I contact you for advice
Instagram is probably best
@@FehzanMehdi I have sent you a message on DM, my account is 95ymr
ACCA is inferior to ACA.
I wouldn’t say that exactly both are good qualifications
Lol all you need to know is how to do the job
Qualifications lol jokers.
I agree experience is more important but a qualification is a requirement to many Senior roles and above.
