You clearly haven’t worked with people who have TRUE MUSCLE WASTING! Unfortunately, I suffer from it as a result of prolonged serious illnesses. And at this point getting up from a chair lifting my drink is a huge step for me. Baby Steps are the keys to regaining strength. I would advise exercises in a chair to start off, and work up from there.
    Good luck to all.

Same here. Lost 10kg of muscle mass during long hospitalization due to covid in 2020.
When i came home getting up from chair without help was impossible.
After 2 years, i can only manage to do my daily chores, my legs are still too weak for the gym!
BTW, i had really muscular legs before covid and i could do 60 sit-ups in a row without breaking a sweat.
After hospitalization, there's no way i could do her exercises. There's no way I can do them now!

@@rahulv8882 I share the same situation after my transplant. It took me 2 months to walk properly and still have swelling. I think it takes time but will come back. I am doing stretching and balancing exercises at rehab once a week and trying to exercise couple of times at home. Diet is a challenge with restrictive food intake and lot of medicinal effects. But hopefully as time goes by body will come back to normal. Good luck y'all with your recovery.

@@tgr.4550 Long story but for the most part I've been a type 1 diabetic for 30 years and have diabetic neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. So for the most part it's very numb. Almost lost my leg in December 2018 and just started walking a few months ago and it's been very tough getting my strength back to normal. Even worse with coronavirus stopping my physical therapy and not able to get to the local gym. The only time I have pain is when I try to sleep. But it's slowly getting better each week. I'll be getting elastic bands and start doing strength training on my own. But not going to follow this video or I'll die LOL.

Recovering faster after a decline involves several key steps. Here are some guidelines to help you get back on your feet more quickly:
    1. **Rest**: Allow yourself ample time to recuperate. Avoid pushing yourself too soon. Prioritize rest and sleep until you feel 100% better⁴.
    2. **Hydration**: Drink plenty of fluids to replenish what you've lost during illness. Water, bone broth, vegetable broth, and coconut water are good choices⁴.
    3. **Nutrition**: Gradually reintroduce nutrient-rich foods into your diet. Opt for lighter, smaller meals throughout the day. Consider green fruit and vegetable smoothies and soups like chicken bone broth with vegetables⁴.
    4. **Gentle Heat**: Ease muscle aches with gentle heat. This can help alleviate soreness and discomfort⁴.
    5. **Positive Mindset**: Maintain a positive outlook. It can make a significant difference in your recovery⁵.
Remember, taking care of yourself post-illness is crucial for a faster and more effective recovery

I agree with what you said. Without the steps you mentioned, the body will not be in any state to do exercise. You first have to build up your resilience, then start training to add muscle, very, very slowly.

I love these videos but they always miss a good part which is pain when you start wasting away because of injury or medical condition and try to regain your strength most of the time you will have immense amount of pain the body does not want to move you have to break through it and gather up a mental toughness also you got to talk to your doctors about your pain because sometimes arthritis or other conditions can build up around the joints

ikr squats, straight off?! This is so far beyond commencing rehabilitation, whether due to illness or injury. If you have been debilitated for a prolonged period of time it is way too intense and could easily cause injury. There’s not even a massive warning that you have to stretch in fact you should even begin with stretching before you can get the exercise.

  • @4715coco
    @4715coco 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

You can't generalize excerise. Causes if atrophy should be the basis for rebuilding. Squats are not feasible for most seniors who have contributing factors for lack of exercise.

All the best.
