Congrats to @cb84capri for winning the shirt giveaway. reach out to me on the facebook page! We wanted to get more passes but were pressed for time. also i said the SS has a 4l80, it doesnt, its a 4l70 lol
It's a bit unfair I mean a Turbo modded vs pretty stock. SS needs a tune and some performance mods to be considered equal that said though I'm here for the inline, want one so bad. I have several vehicles though so this is years out for me if I ever do it.
@Bawkr The SS also has two extra cylinders though. I mean stock for stock then of course the LS wins hands down. Turbo and meth on an untouched inline 6 isn't bad. I have an AWD Aero (TBSS cousin) that is cammed , stalled , ported intake, headers , exhaust and run on E85 and my best time was 12.7
@@MrAero_1 I want to put one into a 70s Luv. Might have to swap rear axle too etc. but would make one awesome vehicle. Edit looked around a lot at all the small trucks around them I think the Luv with 4 headlights, reverse hood and dash looks pretty good. 72-76 Courier & Datsuns are pretty cool too.
Heck yeah that 4200 moves out very well against that SS. Just bought me a 2007 TB LS 2wd today. Has 144k on her, very clean leather interior and great gray exterior well kept. Plan to get stage 1 4L60E transmission and 373 rear end gear before starting turbo kit for 4.2. This channel, this build is a true inspiration to me plus many others!

Just found your channel and I hope your subs go through the roof. I think you'll get there. It's been fun getting to see the 4200's potential. I watch hours and hours of build content, from the well knowns to the unknowns and you are one of very few who respond consistently to your viewers questions and input, and it's awesome. Gonna keep watchin' as long as you keep postin'.
So underrated is the 4200! I love your content. Dam! I need my TB boosted! BTW can't wait to see the 240 SX with the 4200 in it. it's going to be so freakin sick!
While I agree with your assessment that a boosted Atlas is a very economical platform (vs. an AWD 6.0L), you'll still need to rebuild your stock tranny and rear soon enough. The tranny and torque converter will put you into the price range of the SS, which also comes with a 4L60 variant (4L70-not a 4L80-unless you upgraded that yourself). Either way, looks like a lot of fun to be had with the 4200 engines! I look forward to picking one up in the future! You've gained me as a subscriber!
Found your channel by researching online for trailblazer mods, I just recently picked up a 05 Trailblazer ext with a 102K miles, so I wanted to know if I can modify it I only see videos about the shorter wheel base one. Sorry your channel seemed like a good place to ask.
I was there racing that day, didn't get a chance to talk to you. I did film that last pass, hadn't published my video yet - didn't want it to be a spoiler. lol Was hoping you had gotten the 2-3 shift worked out. I feel like a good stall converter and all the shifts happening when they should is worth half a second minimum... likely close to double that.

Sweet! New Video to watch while I'm working! Oh, I measured out the cubby hole and found a CX racing ice box that looks like it will work if I cut out the carpet and trim the lid like you did. I'm waiting on my intake elbow to come in that was on backorder at work so I can mock up all my intercooler piping and get it welded.
@@J-Whit oh no worries! It was easy enough to go out and measure. I completely forgot that cubby hole has like a step built into it so I'm glad I checked!
That's very impressive , do you have any plans to do work on the transmission? I believe you'll turn some better times when you do. Even if you don't, there aren't any other 4200's that can brag about what you have achieved!
We are currently working on a transmission upgrade. i agree, a built/better trans and converter would make a huge difference. that and going to the 4.10 gears will get this thing off the line much better!
@@J-Whit Well, you'll definitely have that ear to ear Kool-Aid grin after you do those two upgrades. Good luck with your project! I'll be watching for the upgrades.
I personally would stay with the 3.42s and let the power pull it vs having more shifts, i went from 3.27s to 3.73s in my car and only gaines were more rpm cruising and another 1200rpm through the traps….biggest issue was planting the tire with 3.73 as it would spin more and often vs 3.27s let it ride out with same 60’ (1.38-140)
