Got this set from gf this Christmas, it's amazing, very well designed and the end result is incredible. Really cool to see how much details they managed to show in this small build
Not sure if I’ll get it (at least not any time soon), but I do like it a lot. I think it targets a somewhat different customer than the 2018 castle, so not so much conflict. It’s much cheaper and easier to display for those with less available space. It’s missing a few things, sure, but that would just push the price out of that more affordable range. I’d like to maybe get this and then moc it out a bit. Of course I’m a huge sucker for the architecture line, so I’m probably a bit biased lol
I'm the target audience. This is the first Harry Potter set I got for the very reasons you mentioned. The previous castle costs way too much and is so big it's hard to display, so I got this because it easily fits on top of a book shelf and with VIP points only cost $80. Sure, I wish it was a little wider so it had the quidditich pitch, clock tower, and Hagrid's hut/forest in the back, but it comes with a mini quidditch pitch promo polybag.
Just ordered this set, can’t wait to build it. I had the original Hogwarts set from when the movies first came out but unfortunately it got destroyed because I was a kid when I had it and a friend fell on it. I love the update 2018 castle which in my opinion was better but I just don’t room to display it But this one is the perfect size for my shelf. Although I do think it would have been cool to have micro scale boats on the lake to look like an incoming class or even a micro scale dragon like in the 2018 version. Overall excited though can’t wait to build!
I think you missed the point, my friend. This is a micro set, and therefore it cannot have all of the extras that you talk about repeatedly. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I am definitely buying this set because it will be my one, Harry Potter build, and I love it!
Just bought this but am only a very casual HP fan so i have no interest in the golden architect figure. What do you reckon i could ask for it? Bricklink doesnt have it catalogued yet it seems
As a unique figure with all exclusive prints and a new mold I think you could get away with asking for $50 Right now one has sold on ebay for $68, and a few are currently listed there for between $40-70 Hope this helps answer your question :)

Wish they added the clock tower, would have only used up 2 or 3 more studs, still a cool set!
I plan on(parts ordered from brick link) on adding the clock tower, the wooden bridge, a little of the forbidden forest, quidditch pitch and owlery
