Quick side rant involving some behind the scenes editing, overall not a big deal but long story short I made a mistake You guys may have noticed that I try to stay consistent with the color themes for each campaign (Dark Carnival is blue, The Passing is purple , etc) I try to match these color themes in both the thumbnails and the captions. Well when I made my Swamp Fever video, despite the main color of that campaign being grey, I went with green captions instead (Because Swamps=Green I guess) and now, for the Hard Rain Campaign, which is of course fucking green, I have to rock grey subtitles. Its not a huge deal but my OCD is going fucking insane over it Won't be making that mistake again (Death toll and No Mercy are both primarily blue so idk what I'm gonna do there, maybe dark blue and a light teal) Thanks again for watching You guys make this all worth it
What you can do is extract the key colours from the map posters. If you put Death Toll and No Mercy posters side-by-side, you can tell that Death Toll is a lil more on the greenish-blue and No Mercy is on the reddish-blue. Just a suggestion :) Nonetheless, keep what you're doing Conz, been loving this series.
just a suggestion but for no mercy, the color pallet for the News chopper 5 is Red White & Blue, Could use one of those as it's the main thing the survivors follow to reach their salvation. the hospital
This is also the campaign where Nick if you’re lucky would sometimes have an exchange with survivors about if they trust Virgil to come back and Nick would also admit that “You’re the first people in the world I ever trusted”

Honestly is kind of sad that a lot of the people in Ducatel went to New Orleans as it was the “safer place” but either died there or the carriers got executed by the military But atleast we got Coach seeing his favorite place of the entire game, his beloved Burger Tank.
They were probably evacuated, unless they weren't compliant. The military was saving people after all, and only executed rebels and anyone who was openly contrarian.
@@JAiZTH-cam considering L4D2 takes on after L4D, the military were killing everyone who was a carrier (has the green flu but with no symptoms) or civilians that they suspect are carriers So maybe some of them got lucky and got evacuated by them, but i see it as doubtful

I don't think it was carriers being executed in New Orleans. Carriers are a rare breed. The survivors don't meet a single one other than themselves in all of the eastern US. I think the military, realizing the only way for humanity to survive was to leave the world to Carriers, massacred the non carriers. There are WAY too many bodies for them to all be Carriers.

I love what TheApostle7 did to this campaign with his SFM series. The inclusion of a much tougher horde, cut special infected and character development was so good. Sucks that there's no finale but I understand why there isn't one.
Side note: The wall graffiti in Chapter 3 is by far my favorite. The one that says "So is the infection, I'll take what I want" is also followed up by "If you're caught taking more than one can, you will be shot on site NO QUESTIONS ASKED." It's kind of cool seeing that almost everyone agrees with the sharing aspect of the limited gas they have. They even make sure that no one takes more than their fair share.
This campaign always unsettled me. It's a true picture of what this outbreak would look like. Zero fellow survivors, empty and dead locations that are only filled with the infected. Really paints a bleak picture of L4D's world.
"Alright, let's get it on." Been waiting for this! Also if life's getting busy, take breaks while you can. You might be getting the Gleen Flu if you dont
I remember when my friends and I completed Hard Rain on expert. It was insane, but versus is just brutal. Particularly in Chapter 2. The tall building after the sugar mill is a prime location for death charges and being dragged off ledges by smokers and jockeys. And that's if you get to the building. Any decent infected team will make short work of the survivors by utilising the witches in the sugar mill. Oh, and I see what you did there when you said "a witch in the Dead Center of a wedding" in The Passing campaign. Nicely done.
That sugar mill is a top 5 versus spot of all time for me. Almost no railings. So easy to get a down, and playing survivor is insanely tense there too. Thank you for the comment, and glad you caught that :)
@@ImNotConz You're welcome. I'm loving your campaign review videos. My friends and I have spent a lot of time playing both L4D and L4D2 over the years. And L4D2 versus is a regular favourite at our annual LAN gaming weekend. A survivor team can get unlucky anywhere. I was once part of an infected team that wiped the survivors for a score of 12 in Chapter 5 of No Mercy. They only made it to the start of the hallway at the top of the stairs after leaving the safe room. Boomer, Spitter, Charger and Hunter. Glorious....
Honestly I could see the Witches being guided by grief and having some of their humanity. It’d make sense why the Witch at the altar gets so pissed off when the wedding music is changed to something else. This is HER wedding. That’s HER music. And you don’t fuck with the Bride’s music.
Another thing to add about Hard Rain: Originally, according to the code and voice lines founds, the sign was supposed to come off and need to be restarted. My guess is that it didn’t change the gameplay in any meaningful way as you are already camping the roof (unless you know how to get back into the safe room). But Hard Rain really felt like one of the only maps where the holdout is warranted due to its simplistic design.
One thing I dont think Hard Rain gets enough credit for is the sheer different types of routes you have when backtracking. You can wade through the waters or climb over roofs and debris, have adrenaline shots let you effectively ignore the water for brief periods. You can go through both stages without any slowdown if you're good enough. Also having double supplies on the way there which carry over when you return, letting you pick between a balance or an extra prepared start/finish at the cost of the other being harder. It's a lot of decision making both for preparation and execution that no other campaign really gives options for.
This campaign takes place during a hurricane. During the 2nd part, they start talking about a storm coming in. In the final chapter, it’s a full storm with very limited visibility. LA/MS get a lot of hurricanes and it’s consistent with the flooding. Especially if they got there during the eye of the storm where it seems like it passed but hasn’t.

Men I really love this game.
My favorite campaign the feels like a action horror game.. Hunkering down in one of the elevated houses while the rain poors harder is awesome. The witches liking the suger is actually the better explanation for the amount witches. Roanoke gaming gave a detailed explanation of why this is. Basically it is easy to digest for them. Besides the state of the suger mill looks nothing like any form of explosive damage for but instead, deconstruction.
It's great that it's easier to digest for them, but that leaves a (hopefully) obvious question... why are they still there? The mill doesn't have any sugar, nor the things to make the sugar, nor any function to make the sugar. So... why are witches still there? Wouldn't they leave to find more sugar?
I’d like to point out for the witch. The green flu attaches onto whatever already exists in the body I.e. smokers with tar in their lungs (elongated tongue, and skin bubbles). The Tank, steroid use or a body builder that has damage to the part of the brain that would slow down muscle growth. The boomer being an overweight male/female that would start to generate large amount of bile on top of what they already had, and then exploding due to the gastrointestinal pressure build up! So on that note my running theory is the witch was a depressed female at the time of infection. (Like you had mentioned) suffering from possible hormone deficiencies. This would explain the crying (once believed to be a hunting tactic) and possible humanity she seems to retain, but when she’s approached it’s back to the normal green flu response…pure rage. She also seems very frail in frame (even with a huge health pool) so possibly the only food she can even process is sugar! Being that the infected don’t drink or eat maybe sugar is all she has left. We’ve all had a lot of sugar when we get depressed or sad
I have this headcanon and I think that the witch special infected has something to do with something sexual in nature: e.g. Sexual abuse, rape, or prostitution. The boat in the comic was full of witches and I think it was a party yacht.
I think a different popular L4D2 youtuber did a video about the anatomy of the witches and he had a theory that he thinks the Flu mutates infected into specials based on their bodies and the witches mutated due to their blood sugar . Its an interesting theory and also works with the fact that they are attracted to the sugar mill.
I'm loving these videos explaining the campaings of L4D2. Also appreciate the format of being no longer than 10 minutes. Fair duration and showcasing plenty in the given time.
After this is all over, I think you should do the same for The Last Stand and Cold Stream. For the latter, try and pinpoint its place in the story if it were canon (even though it isn't)
Really enjoy these vids but I was wondering of youre gonna cover The Last stand or Cold Stream and this may be pushing it but Dam It, which takes place between dead air and blood harvest, it was scraped from the main game but I think the mods did a good job creating it
I think the theory is half right. Instead of Wives mourning their husband, it could be they was the female employees that work there to mourn the destruction of the Sugar Mill. Since the infected only hit the place after the construction crew just got there and we barely see any big construction machinery, they could be to the employees reminiscing and to clean up whatever paperwork left. And part could also be the survivors tried to holdout there but also got turned into Witches.
fun fact to those who find it funny: construction zombies really do not get immune to sounds matter of fact it''s not even sounds, i didn't check how it's called so i'll call it "zombie lure" because they do not react to boomer bile either unless a specific target is hit also oxygen tanks can be used to lure zombies because when they get shot they make loud squeak AND if you pick them up before they explode they reset
Honestly would probably put it as my least favorite of L4D2's campaigns, but not for anything bad. It's just.... there. The level is just a normal town and a sugar mill. Don't hate it, don't love it. I will say the finale area being so small does add one unique quirk in that the tank and horde will be on you before Vergil arrives, meaning you HAVE to delay them a bit on the roof, because if you rush the dock, then you'll get your ass eaten. The added danger of being right next to the water also means that a Special is going to be a death sentence if you try to get there before the boat arrives. Stay on the roof and you could get dragged off or charged off even further away though, and the slog through the water means you're basically screwed. I LOVE that. I always feel so anxious at the end. 7:20 after watching the video: That's just plain wrong.

"Gleen.. Holy F*ck" And that just made me subscribed. lmao
"People either love it or hate it"
"I'm in the middle" 😂bruh. Content aside, I'm GLAD you stick to videos 😂
During the sugar mill, Ellis can say, "I'm boutta start crying in a minute"
Hard Rain is easily my favorite campaign cause of the weather and atmosphere alone
fun fact to those who find it funny: construction zombies really do not get immune to sounds
matter of fact it''s not even sounds, i didn't check how it's called so i'll call it "zombie lure"
because they do not react to boomer bile either unless a specific target is hit
also oxygen tanks can be used to lure zombies because when they get shot they make loud squeak AND if you pick them up before they explode they reset
The Gleen Frue
you lowk sound like real life lore
Also a quick little gimmick about the construction zombies, they also have a bit more HP due to their PPE
Thanks i love this campaign
My favorite campaign for sure
I liked Hard Rain, it had a disaster movie feeling. I also liked how you revisit previous areas.
