I found one of the weirder combat achievement early on because I had always wanted to Cloak into a biotic charge. This game, warts and all, will always hold a special place in my heart.
Forever will definitely enjoy the gameplay and nigh infinite cross class typing you're capable of doing in the game. Just wish they'd stuck to the story telling aspect a bit more Edit: love that black widow, but you make it look so casual bro. You make me want to play the game again lol
They definitely should've focused on world building like what ME1 did. It feels like they tried to make the story telling similar to ME2, but without having first really established the world, or in this case, galaxy you were actually in.
Hot take but I actually really enjoyed this game. It wasn’t nearly the same as the trilogy, but it had so many new quarks and additions that made the gameplay pretty satisfying imo
Gameplay was the strongest aspect of this game, arguably the best in the series yet. Hopefully the next ME can strike a balance between Andromeda gameplay and the OG trilogy storytelling
The best part about this game was being able to slap vintage heat sinks back on to your weapons. Or maybe the leveling. Definitely bot the story or characters
How far are you? and how are you enjoying vanguard so far? Think it'll take a while before I gather my strength for a second playthrough. the first one took me about 96hours for 89% completion. But think i'd probably want to try something other than infiltrator next, as don't remember playing anything else in any mass effect game :)
Buyboomstick so far I'm on the 4th planet, kadara in the campaign. The vanguard class is fun as hell. Melee hits restore shield and you deal a lot of burst damage with Charge + Nova. Throw in Annihilation into the mix for biotic combos and more damage. The N7 Piranha suits the class best since vanguard is one of those classes that gets up close and personal.
I'm a big fan of burst damage, which is one of the reasons i end up with infiltrator using black widow. I started with a power build, but found the overall damage output to lack in late-game, so I switched to full sniper damage. I guess it also have something to do with the fact that i love being able to pick off targets from safe distances. But i think if I can find the right balance in survivability/damage, vanguard could be quite fun as well :)
My first playthrough was full vanguard with asari sword. Charge in kill one guy then use the asari sword to blink behind another guy and slash him then charge away into someone else. Almost forgot the game had guns but I was running with a disciple
See, the game would've been fine as a stand alone game instead of being called Mass Effect. By attaching it to the Mass Effect franchise, you apply expectations and thus fail to meet said expectations.
This video was from my very first playthrough. I tend to only do the 2nd hardest difficulty at first and focus a bit more on just enjoying the game. Usually on my 2nd playthough I'd then pick the hardest to have as much of a challenge as possible. I did test it out later on insanity and In most cases I felt no real difference in difficulty. So instead of re-recording, I decided to just edit the title :)
Black Widow X does that even on Insanity and with all profiles. I have Soldier and I can almost oneshot Annointed - Black Widow shot + Concussive shot is KO for them though. Black Widow is really OP.
True. Black widow by itself is very high damage. I do remember some higher hp enemies like architects could still require quite a few shots if you didn't specc for high damage. If i remember correctly, then i found most sniper builds at the time to lack in some areas, so i ended up making this build to get a good mix of damage, survivabilty and convenience (not needing to worry about picking up enough sniper ammo whithout having to switch weapons) :) It was 4 years ago and i must admit that i haven't played the game since, so i actually don't know if this build is still valid/viable.
@@Buyboomstick I personally find Remnant inferno the best sniper rifle. Its medium damage (meaning its more of a warrior/fighter sniper than the assassin sniper) BUT its endless. I played the game for like a month after release and was insanely disappointed by its state and thought Ill never revisit the game BUT came back after I did +- 1400 hours in Legendary edition AND was like "Lets try Andromeda, I forgot what that was about" AND am pleasantly surprised with 600 hours in Andromeda as well.
I did actually quite enjoy the game when it came out. I wasn't as bothered with the state of the game back then as many others, and some of the issues just became memes to laugh at. I do tend to only do one or two playthroughs, and then maybe revisit again years later once nostalgia kicks in. have been thinking about trying it again at some point, but not gotten around to it yet.
@@Buyboomstick I encountered so many progress stopping glitches that I spent more time online looking for workarounds and solutions than actually playing the game. Maybe I was just insanely unlucky BUT based on the fact that I found people talking about the bugs I had all the time on Reddit and it was very easy to find solutions to it because it was appearantly wide spread - I think that if you had not experienced it, good for you 🙂 I personally take points off for dialogue like "My face is tired" or "maybe because I shot him in the FEYS" etc. but it were not those things that made me shelf Andromeda early on. It was the fact I spent more time on Reddit than in game.
I really want to enjoy this game, but I can only play it 20 mins at a time and then I feel burnt out. I then turn on the trilogy and get lost for days. Sigh
I only played 2, 3 and Andromeda, but from what I remember I was able to enjoy my time in all of them. Although I will admit Andromeda was less enjoyable.
This game could be masterpiece if they just make better faces better worlds instead of copy paste and some DLC like my favorite Hanar get lost and I can't even save them
Dariusz Zaremba some people really enjoy sniping. If that playstyle is not for you, simply don't play it. I personally enjoy picking off enemies at long range more than melee.
You are saying that to a guy who played the entirety of far cry 3 dressed up as a bush poping heads off pirates. Because it works there. In a game where every enemy in the same hemisphere knows where you are the moment you open fire I'd rather be agressive over waiting for the kett to raise their head above a chest high wall like a wooden duck on a range. Plus there are jetpacks and when I see a sword and a jetpack there is only way for me to go.
You don't have to wait for them to peak, you can shoot them through objects you know. and since infiltrators can see them through walls, it's easy to pop some headshots while they are hiding.

I don't know about you people but i really enjoyed the game even if the faces were like pingu.
noot noot, same :)
The gameplay was fine, just lackluster. There wasn’t enough depth to make any system in particular stand out and the characters were mid at best
My face was tired. 😫

Excellent build description. Hard to find such concise and complete builds.
Glad you like it :)

ME3 has better gameplay imo, more impactful.
''That's a lot of dead kett'' Wouldn't have said better myself great shooting pathfinder !
Ryder to Vetra: "Your grasp of the obvious is inspiring."
A.K.A Guy with a Barrett build
The best part about this game was being able to slap vintage heat sinks back on to your weapons. Or maybe the leveling. Definitely bot the story or characters
I didn't care much for the story and writing in andromeda, but it had great gameplay/combat.
Say what you want; this looks fun
Bad ass infiltrator build. Definitely gonna try that out in my next playthrough after I'm done with my vanguard build.
How far are you? and how are you enjoying vanguard so far?

I researched battlefield assist module but when I go to create my black window VI it is not in the choices to make. Why??
I haven't really played the game for about 5 years at this point, so afraid I don't remember enough to answer this anymore.
remnant shotty with auto mod and other damage boosts with biotic charge works real good

Hardcore gameplay, insanity viable. Haha, there’s insanity and there’s everything else, bruh.

Hey in the build you have put "Backlash: UUD" what does the "U" and "D" stand for?=p
Thanks
It's the last 3 choices in every tree, U = Up, D = Down.
So UUD = Up, Up, Down.
ah... ofcourse! long day dont mind me =p thanks for the fast reply.
No problem :)
Where can i find the 20% damage boost when in full health augmentation?
In Heleus technology research, there's one called "Battlefield assist module"
I belive you meant Widowmaker.

yea many people had a lot more issues than i did.
i mostly just remember the "my face is tired" but i just found it to be funny.
Infiltrator with barrier? And what armor was that?

Is this game woke?
This scope is pure garbage
no offence bit thats one boring, ass way to play the game... why not go full mele ?

Yes well I dont have to wait because I have a sword, so I just get in close and cut theit tits off.
Guess to each is their own.
