Even stock the cl9 has an unique soul. The high revving engine + i-vtec and great sound and how it handles into corners. Simply said it's pure joy

I drive my parents mark 5 GTI to and from work some days and they truly are a brilliant car. I don’t think it had ever been put into “DS” or had its paddles played with until they put me down on their insurance policy. Good thing too because I thrashed the living sh*t out of the thing and was always surprised with just how capable it is and how fast it feels. Compared to a K series Honda with a 6 speed manual though? I don’t think the GTI was really designed as a “purist” drivers car like the Honda’s were. It’s more of a comfy daily with enough performance if you do want it.

VAG has no soul or character like Accord. I drove -16 Octavia with intention to change cars, it just didn't have that something. Like it was too easy to drive with that centering numb feeling steering. DSG is awesome compared to manual on a daily car but you really need to be prepared to have some problems which are not that cheap to fix.

Hey kiwi, I noticed you had disconnected the valve cover breather from your intake pipe.
I just have put a CAI, and I was thinking what to do with the valve cover breather...the logic make me think is a emission thing which introduce hot and oily air to the intake, so I thought about anulate it. But I wasn't sure about it was so simple, so I decided to investigate and the conclusion is:
The breather do not pull hot air to the intake, it suck fresh and filtered air to the engine!!. Its just the start of the pcv system. With this you maintain a certain amount of pressure in the camshaft, at once refrigerate all engine components and substitute the dirty air from combustion which get out across the pcv valve.
Maintaining this certain amount of pressure is necessary to help the piston rings sealing the combustion explosion, if pression is too low, much more amount of blow by is gonna transfer to the camshaft, doing combustion less efficient, that means less power and more contaminants and unburn gasoline in oil.

    • @KiwiCarLife
