    5th didnt go in smoothly because the brass colored plate that holds the shifter knob down into the transmission had a slit on the right side that the notch in the shifter knob will hit so that you dont shift too far over going into 5th. You have to adjust that brass color cover plate to the left little by little until 5th engages smoothly and then tighten the brass colored plate.

  • @bfrankz3332
    @bfrankz3332 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You have to adjust the plate for 5th and 6th. That notch is a guide. Simple to do. Fsm shows how as well.

    Why did you opt to go with the factory csc? Why not the 'elimination kit' z1 offers...or a zspeed cmak to relocate slave outside of bellhousing?

    Hay it's me again lol. I'm having major issues with my 350z 2006 revup not stock anymore. But I just put a new clutch in and put the wrong throw out in and not Z1's on accident i had two one from ebay and of course the ebay one sucks and huge waste of time and money now I have to drop my trans just for a wheel bearing so it seems. It sounds awful man and lack of power and my o2 AF sensors are freaking out over the longtube headers ECU dont like it. I'm not sure what my question is but more of a venting session for me. Lol wish me luck. Z1 Motorsports rocks I love them buy from Z1 always

    So I’m in the mids of a 6spd swap in my 03 Infiniti G35, and got the trans mounted, however I have play on the right side but it binds on the left and won’t engage any gears. I swapped out the pilot bushing, yet haven’t hooked up or bled the clutch/slave, because I’ve been trying to diagnose what this issue could be.

    Is that chatter noise when he first starts the car (around 18:55) considered normal? is it a VTC sprocket or timing chain tensioner? I heard the mechanic talk a little about but hard to decipher. I have a 2004 G35 that makes that noise on occasion at cold start. Started doing it more often now with OEM oil filter. Great channel and awesome videos man!

    • @franklowe2180

      The tick at cold start is the timing chain guide slapping on the timing chain. Need to replace the timing chain guide and the push pin that gives it tension. That will stop that slapping/ tick noise on cold startups.

    I currently have an issue with my 06 Z where it doesn’t go into any gears at all. This started happening after my friend installed a new clutch. Apparently he didn’t bleed it enough but I drove it like that because I needed it for work. One day I was on the freeway and then outta nowhere, my shifter doesn’t want to go into any gears. I bought a slave and a master to see if it were that but that wasn’t the case. Anyone know what might be the issue?

      Yeah Chris said the samething. During the initial install you don't hear it at all really. I was suprised, then after adding some miles to it, does it chatter in neutral. I still rock the OEM dual mass flywheel with an Exedy clutch.
