This channel focuses on combat flight simulators like DCS World and IL-2 Great Battles. If you play either of these games or flight simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and enjoy aviation and dogfighting then this channel is for you. Even if you are coming from War Thunder and BF2042, you can learn to fly these combat flight simulators.
I play using TrackIR5 and do not use VR, this means that I am able to capture footage for tutorials, how-to-guides and other multiplayer tips and tricks video in 1440p.
Eagle Dynamics has made it easier than ever to learn DCS because the game is technically free. The game has the F-15, F-16, Su-27, Mig-29, Mig-21, Mig-19, Mig-15, F-86 Sabre, Jf-17, Mirage 2000, F-18 Hornet and F-14 Tomcat. There are soon other modules coming such as the Mig-23 and F-4. Lastly, there are helicopters like the Mi-24 Hind and AH-64 Apache.
The same is also true for IL-2 Great Battles. With Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Kuban, Battle of Bodenplatte, Battle of Moscow and Battle of Normandy being released, there is an immense amount of variety covered. The Bf-109, Fw-190, P-51, Tempest, P-47, Mc.202, Stuka, Ju-88, He-111, and so on are all in the game. I focus on making videos to make that part accessible so you can dive into IL-2 Multiplayer. - เกม
Everyone will flock to the mavericks but the ones that know will use the TV Guided Bombs🙏
Especially when you remove the Mavs on the 60s server :P
@@SuperEvilMonkee I think the As will be on that one, like we did with the Mirage F1, it's a new module so we want to give more and not less at release. Over time we will figure out what feels best for each scenario
@@Enigma89 Will you allow triple stack As or just single stack under the sidewinder pylons?
Unlike Mavericks, Walleyes will be shot down by SA-2s.

I really enjoy this format where you inform about the weapon instead of just jumping in the tutorial.
Have you already tightened the washer?

Excellent use of historical footage Engima! The TV bombs are great for when you want something really big, really dead!
If you want to go deep the Pursuit of Precision documentary on the Walleye can be found here, it also covers the Air Force's trials of the Walleye and transition into the GBU-8 th-cam.com/video/cPgVsz_TnkE/w-d-xo.html
Loved this doc.
I watched it, fascinated. My dad's uncle worked on the sidewinder program and talked about the walleye and how the sidewinder program helped.
I really like you going over the history of something instead of just throwing a tutorial together. I think it makes it more interesting and gives the viewer a better understanding of the weapon and how it is used or how it was used. Good video Enigma. Can’t wait to be flying this baby on ECW
love how you included the history behind it instead of just showing how to set it up. good job!
I'm looking forward to the walleye as much as the phantom! Can't wait.
Definitely one of the most interesting weapons in its arsenal
Walleyes 2 are also available for F-18 which can be a great place to practice delivery - after all, to effectively deliver those bombs, you not only have to lock the target, but also provide sufficient speed and altitude otherwise it will just fall off the sky (learned that the hard way).
that requires owning, installing, binding controls for, and flying the F/A-18, and all its MFDs, though
Thank you very much! Currently I watch every bit of HB Phantom and your tutorials are awesome!
I’ve learned so much watching DCS videos. The historical context just makes it even better. Thanks for the great video!
Awesome tutorial! Easy to learn how to use in game + great and brief way to learn the story!
Great job on this video! Really looking forward to the release!
ive been looking for the gbu8/ walleye vid on this thing for a little bit now, a2g on ther phantom has to be one of the most interesting things. thanks for the great video
Top notch video, great work!
Fantastic video! Really enjoyed the format and historical insertion of interviews and footage. Keep these videos up. It’s a niche style only you are doing that I have watched.
ive been waiting for a proper walleye in dcs for ages! First thing i will load up the f4 with.
Another excellent video plus tutorial thanks
Nice video, love the background info and history!
This is a great video. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial thanks for the time you spent on this.
Love it. Hopefully this can be implemented into the A-4.
Fantastic video!
I liked the video. The explanations on usage are quite good, but the historical details and vintage footage give it that extra spice which makes the experience much tastier!! 📺
@Enigma, I liked that flex about your personnel F4 manual. I love the guide, and the history is awesome!
Great video! Loved the beginning clips, especially the interview with the designer.
Thanks for the video I can't wait to get this bird !
Great video very informative
Thank you so much for making this video Sir! I was going from Mavericks to the HOBOS and could not figure out how to slew it (I thought I could like the Maverick) also I didnt know how to lock on. So now its back to the range at Nellis and see if I can blow something up!
Thanks for showing the pursuit of precision title in the intro, really enjoyed watching that documentary after this
Very good!
What a nice and interresting weapon, my current lowest is rb-05 on viggen, now i throught i have new favourite
Interesting! Thanks for this
I love those old docs, they are a treasure throve of information. And I like the way the guy says, calmly: "it was s calm mission, the enemy shot just 4 SAMs at us, no migs in the area..."
Excellent How To, and I liked the added history lesson!
That's cool. The cleverness and sometimes simplicity of guidance systems fascinates me. And side note, the reactive foliage is really a cool update. It looks exaggerated at time, but it sure makes bombing things more satisfying.
Good one. Thanks.
I enjoyed the video and the history. 🙂
Algo boosting like and coment for the homie. Also, the music and editing in the intro are choice. Nice job homie.
The linked documentary was a good recommendation. Very informative and enjoyable 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
"Psst over here. Hey kid, wanna learn how a contrast lock works in 1 minute?" Following up on that with the full documentary.
Awesome stuff. Walleyes were one of the first weapons I messed with in my first DCS plane, the Hornet, way back when. Just for the sheer novelty of using old tech like that.
Thank you!
Great job explaining this. As soon as you said "Change your site up 17 mils" i said, "Why?" You answered it as soon as I asked...
I hate when I get instructions and dont understand why I'm doing something..
Nice touch with the history stuff. I consider myself well-versed on the cold war history stuff but I did not know the Walleye was first used in Vietnam. So I really enjoyed that additional information.
Man this looks like such a mega project that they sunk so much effort into, i really hope the launch goes well for them.
I just finished watching the documentary on the development of the Walleye. Really incredible insight to China Lake and guided weapons development.
Good one
TY
Nailed the background music..A mustage just grew out. Wuuhuu
Thank You
only 1:33 in and already love it! Love the historical snippet there :)
HOBOS is probably the single weapon I’m most curious about, and nobody else has even mentioned it from what I’ve seen. Enigma carrying the CW era in content creation again?
epic and soulful times
i watch that documentary and for the last few days have been obsessively using them lol.
Learning the F-4E by enigma guides to play on enigma's server lmao
I don't agree with AAA trying to shoot down TV guided bombs.
why? wouldnt you try to shoot the inpending doom pickle thats about to turn you into mince meat?
@@agidotexe7167 Unless you've got John Wick manning that hand-cranked ZSU-23, you probably won't see it until it's too late, much less be able to get a bead on it, much less hit it.
@@isotaan well yea thats why they didnt hit, if you actually see an aircraft diving on you i dont think it would be that hard to see a bomb the size of a small car
It's not the size of a small car.
It's a tube 18 inches in diameter. That's a foot and a half across being dropped head-on from about a mile up. That's a *tiny* target moving *really fast.*
Like I said: I don't agree with AAA trying to shoot down an incoming MITL bomb but not other bombs.
You aren't going to be trying to plink bombs like it's skeet shooting. If you see bombs separate, you're diving for cover.
@@isotaanthat’s due to ED classifying it as a missile rather than a bomb… it’s not realistic at all, and any crew being surprise attacked wouldn’t realize what’s about to hit them, let alone be ready to aim perfectly and shoot towards it. Another DCSism that isn’t reflective to real life
You’re the man
The right "Clicky-Clicky" truly DCS terminology :D
The F4 will be interesting on your server. I guess time will tell if its performance makes it meta, OR if its complexity and depth of simulation actually make competitive players shy away from it.
Paraphrasing Mr. Jesse Pinkman: " YES, HISTORY!" . It's great, simply great to see someone touching in a subject many people gloss over: the origins of guided weapons. While it is very cool to see an A-4, A-6, A-7 and now an F-4 fully loaded with Mk 82s, dumb bombs were the very reason why guided munitions came to be. They were terribly ineffective and the U.S. needed a more sure-to-hit solution, and thus, the TV and laser guided bombs were born. Many on the player base just don't appreciate how much the likes of F-16, F-18 and the Mudhen were a gigantic leap forward in terms of technology and ease of use. Good thing that the Heatblur's F-4 can help show how things were made much more complicated in the Cold War.
Only Enigma could take a simple topic and layer it with the most condescending tone possible.
I find the tone very effective in making people realize that they don't always have to use the latest and greatest but appreciate the older jank stuff.
Getting a Heatblur dev to explain the radar isn't enough... you've got the Walleye dev here to explain the Walleye!
Your content is amazing, I am however; terrible on your server with an a4.
Your content / server is good stuff
Note for players: You do not need to get that close for a walleye release nor is it required that the aiming square be centered in the crosshair for release. It’s only to aid the pilot In preventing the camera from
Becoming masked
Cant wait for in-direct DL functionality.. WSO fly the bomb :)
Shame we won't get buddy delivery for any MITL weapon.
@@isotaan buddy delivery is complicated due to network code. I know we had many issues with it in BMS due to weapon ownership.
Not familiar with DCS architecture to say if it's feasible or not.
@@uriba107 DCS weapon netcode currently doesn't allow for it. A lot of weapons have sync issues, especially MITL weapons and the Harpoon.
@@isotaanIt was supposed to be coming as per Wags for the Walleye II ERDL on the Hornet, but the last we heard about it was nearly half a decade ago.
Q. Does it lock on contrast, or does it lock onto a DCS World ground unit? i.e. could you lock a lone tree with this, or fail to lock a unit concealed by trees?
The guided munitions of wwii... pretty cool.
i just seen the walleye being used by an A4 on one of the video clips you shown. that would be awesome if they could add this to the a$ mod in the future
Wow I really imagine how this came from radio guided, much easier to get a precision strike and did not need a second person to guide the bomb in. Still since you needed to get so close for a drop it's not that much different from something like CCIP. The major asvantage having a system that will guide the weapon untill impact.
Whoa, having flown the Viper, the F-14 and now going back to the F-4, it's nuts to see the advances in tech. I thought the Cat was ancient by modern aircraft standards but this bird....I think I'm going to REALLY love it for its simplicity but complexity....if it makes sense?
That's the beauty of cold war
i really like cold war stuff, i like to work bit harder to deliver payloads
So do we have terminal guidance of the walleye like we have in the F18 or is that only available in later models?
No guidance after you let go of it
The Walleye wasn't the first TV guided bomb, the TV guided GBU-4 was used during 1944 in late WW2
I've been waiting for the hobos for so long. I'm so excited about those. I wonder when/if they're going to model the original targeting pod? I'm a little ignorant of the F-4E module features.
If you're talking about Pave Knife, then no, that was an F-4D thing.
However, we are getting the AN/AVQ-23 Pave Spike for this version of the Phantom.
Later, with the DMAS variant of the Phantom (included in the price) we'll also be seeing the AN/AVQ-26 Pave Tack.
@@OliverMiles98 If wonder if the Pave Tack will actually be implemented or not. As far as I know, that pod served with Phantom units for a very small period of time.
@@agostonbazmajer1100 While true, I believe it is already on the list - there's certainly documentation on its operation on its use from the perspective of an F-4E WSO.
The same applies to the Walleye, which only saw very limited USAF service and was almost entirely a USN weapon.
Walleye isnt the first operational TV guided bomb that honor would go to the GB-4 TV guided Glide bomb used somewhere around 1944 to 45 or if your not to strict in the terms the TDR-1 Assault drone (The father of the FPV Drone) used in 1943.
Anyone that hasn't watched Pursuit of Precision AGM-62 Walleye......do yourself a favor and check it out. The people at China Lake were absolute mad scientists and wizards.
Awesome video! But can HB Phantom use data link to guide walleye after release? I mean, after release in hornet u can mannualy changed target, so if u see that walleye locked on a wrong one u can correct i
I don't think the F4 had this
You can, but only on the DMAS / AN/ARN-101 F-4E. At the moment we'll only have the DSCG F-4E which doesn't have that capability.
Please can you show how to use the Shrikes? They are definitely my favourite air to ground weapon 👍🏻
I will do a shrike video but most likely post release
There is a really good docunentary about the walleye called the pursuit of precision. Check it out that chanel also have some great documentaries, one of the sidewinder
Daam I didn't realize you mentioned it in the end
you have the exact hotas setup that i have. is it possible to share the input file from dcs with us that‘ll be awesome!! i‘m shure that many have the new Stecs 😊
Dm me on discord
Is it possible to have a video feed from the bomb's camera?
I mean can you aim the weapon while it flies towards the target like in the F/A-18?
There is no data link on this plane
@@Enigma89 Oh, that's a bummer, Thank you for the answer
what selection of weapons will be available for the F-4 on the enigma Cold War server?
We will announce it when its launched but there will be more than enough to play with
04:51 why do you power up the inner pylons and the center pylon?
They were empty so no real reason to so I guess stupidity or just not thinking as i clicked
So, having a problem. When I click the trigger button it doesn't lock onto the target. I have to hold the trigger button down but then when I go nose level the tv sigh unlocks the target every time. Am I missing something?
If you click trigger it should lock if there is enough contrast. From there you should just keep the nose in that area so you can keep an eye onit
Curious if this works effectively with a WSO guiding and releasing the payload. The manual seems to say yes?
I don't think Jester/WSO does anything with this. I did not see anything in the manual on the TV Guided Bomb Section (4.3.3.4)
@@Enigma89 Thanks. Yeah, I just noticed it say "WSO controls are on the actual flight stick, not the Antenna Hand Control." which got me curious.
MITL capability using the data link won't come until we have the DMAS AN/ARN-101 F-4E.
I cant find the walleye for the fa18 any more... have ED removed it for the fa18?
It's in the bombs category, for the outer wing stations.
huh so you cant slew the camera seekerhead? didn't the agm62 walleye on the hornet allow this?
S O U L
Is the F4 going to get napalm?
I didn't find any video giving a good show on what the second player on that plane does. Is it even fun to fly the plane co-op? What do I need to do to join a friend as his weapons officer?
Check my other video on the F4 its a multicrew session. The WSO does a lot!
the hype is real
Can we get a wso vid about this. Unfortunately thest multicrew modules never get the backseat vids they deserve
All the work is done from the front seat on this as the pilot has to aim it with the plane
Read ‘One Day In A Long War’ by Alfred Price and Jeffrey Ethell. The TV guided bombs were absolutely useless.
great video! Can you slew the seeker of the bomb before release?
Sorry if this was not clear in the video. You cannot slew it at all. You have to move the entire plane to get it on target. It is really a bomb that you yeet towards the target direction and if the angle and speed is right then it will hit target
@@Enigma89 ah ok gotcha! so its not like the walleye on the f18 then. either way very cool, gonna be interesting to see how effective it is to do this in multicrew
@@agidotexe7167it's the same weapon , you just need to aim using the plane
Still has the same 40+ mile range
@@fastfed no the f18 uses the walleye 2, he only showed the walleye 1 in thsi video
@@agidotexe7167The F/A-18 uses the Walleye II ERDL. It was also briefly shown in this video (though not sure how accurate it is).
was a good video, but would be good to explain some of the selectors a bit more - so weapon selector has mutliple options, but would be good to explain what they are and how they work, same with the weapon release selector. you chose direct, but what are the others.
Still unpacking those, they are for other weapons. Looking forward to learning with everyone at release 🙏
Any update on falcon 5.0
I'm not a maths person, but is there a way to estimate range based on dive angle and radar altimeter?
I was actually talking to someone about this. We were theory crafting that you could probably pretend you had a Mk84 and just use a bomb table to better inform approaches. The really tricky thing is that you need a lock so the fuzz on the monitor will put your approach a bit on rails because it can be quite hard to see things from far away on it.
@@Enigma89 I was thinking poor man's trig. 3000ft radar altimeter and a 60 degree dive is part of the equation, I just don't have the maths to calculate the slant range/hypotenuse.
YAYYYYY
So can you only carry 2?
Average DCS player: Okay, but where is the GPS guided version of this ?
shout out China Lake
God I miss crashloway or wharf ever his name was the quick 1 min tutorials , I just wanna know how to use it, if I want history I watch a documentary 😂
