I can recommend playing with the TV-guided weapons. The HOBOS is probably my favorite. There's nothing quite like entering a shallow dive and drop a bomb, reaquire and drop another and another and suddenly as you are lining up your fourth, you realize you are flying in formation with your own 2000lb bombs... Quite scary and hilarious. Somehow I get the feeling they usually only dropped one bomb per pass. Mavericks are no problem as they accelerate (slightly) away, but the glide bombs are scary fun
I've just realized i bought more than a dozen aircrafts and choppers in Dcs..to be honest i Cant remember for each of them..the complète targeting and launching weapons procédures 😮...buddies ear me out..best idea is to Keep flying onto the same aircraft at least 2 -3 months before flying with another one belonging to your hangar....trust me it worth. Thanks casmo to be there.🔥🙏
This is why real combat pilots usually don’t switch aircraft, and if they do they take a long time before being combat certified in the new aircraft. All of the muscle memory on working one system for years can actually get you killed if you’re in a different one. I have the same issue you got.
For people interested in documentaries, BalticaBeer has really long video on the development of both Walleye and Shrike, and how they changed the Vietnam War, and all others that followed.
Thanks for this video Sir! Please continue making these F4E videos! I have still not even opened the manual, I have learned to start up, take off and today I will be trying to drop some dumb bombs for the first time and I have been watching your bombing video several times - I tend to learn much faster by watching a video than reading words on a page. We call it "monkey watch - monkey learn" here in Norway.
Great videos Casio, keep em coming. I need your assistance, I cannot for the life in me keep my F-4E steady enough to get a lock, I’ve tried trimming using the auto pilot air brakes the lot and cannot get a steady flight path enough to move the maverick seeker onto the target. What am I doing wrong dude 🤦♂️
Thanks for the video, great stuff! Though I’m having a bit of trouble with Mavs. Sometimes, I can rifle a couple of them, but suddenly, pulling the trigger no longer moves on to the next one. I haven’t found a pattern yet what may cause this, but so far, whenever it happens, I’m no longer able to activate any of the remaining missiles. Any ideas?
Are the mils we should set the same between the Walleye and HOBOS? I'd assume the procedure is the same as well for designating and releasing on a target?
it must be bugs caused by going from AG to AA and back, it breaks the mav functions described in this video. once you break it, the sim just gives you a middle finger instead of slewing.
@@Antares2 right but when you move your physical stick, do you see the in game stick like bounce a little bit? Cause even if I make a smooth movement in real life, the stick in the cockpit it bounces a little bit, and it only happens in the F4 pitch axis.
@@Pekins_ That is perhaps from the setting in the "specials" menu where the amount of stick deflection is limited by the force required to pull on it. It is done so if you are flying fast, the stick deflection will be less as the force required for full deflection gets higher and higher. It's to prevent all of us who don't have force feedback sticks from tearing the wings of the plane, I suspect. You could experiment with tuning this setting or even turning it off and see if it helps you. I prefer leaving it on, but it depends your physical hardware what you prefer.
Sounds a lot like you’re doing something wrong. This module is far from garbage. Walk away, catch your breath and examine the steps. Cause you’re clearly missing something that many many other people are not. 🤷🏻♂️

Instructions unclear, ended up owning all modules 😬
DCS is a perishable skill.
@@mattthacker9120 very true.

I was learning to use this yesterday. I love using these early smart weapons. So much fun.
Dive Toss too is a lot of fun :D

I’m the same
great tutorial Casmo - loving your series with the F4 - best of any streamer
They are so fun to use
As always, Casmo gives us the low down!
I will say these are easier to use than the Hornet walleyes (because you can see the target better with the smaller reticle lines)

Idk. Just gotta work on your control touch I guess 🤷🏻♂️
The difference between the A and B mavericks, AFAIK, is only in the camera's field of view. One of them has a bit higher zoom level than the other.

Haven’t played with the HOBOS yet
Looks like it should be straight forward enough. Give the Bullpups a try, they are definitely different.
Great tutorials. Do you see yourself coming back to fly this aircraft from time to time or other aircrafts are more likely to hold that interest?
Love this plane.
how long does the walleye TV operates before burn out? Or no time limit?
Does anybody know if Jester will be able to target and shoot the TV/IR-AGM or the LASER-GBU?
Can't wait for oh58

6 mavs and a boat load of dumb bombs = fun
“TV Guided” made me think of “TV Dinners” which would still be weapons. But use of which would probably be a war crime.
Mmm salisbury steak 😂
another aweome moment, when the mavs are armed, can see the targets on the green screen, press all the buttons and nothing slews at all. amazing crap.
man the pitch axis is so bouncy in this thing.
Check your curves. I do not have the same opinion.
I put my control curves to between 15 and 20 for pitch and roll (as well as a little on rudder pedals), and it does wonders for the precision control

Double bound?

funny, i cant fire a single maverick outside the tutorial, jester says NO
But, where is the kiowa video ? 😢
Patience…
my favorite thing of all time is getting tone, master arm on, hitting trigger and no missle fires when it should. garbage module so far.

Garbage? This module is arguably the best DCS fixed wing module to date.
