My husband built this exact chicken tractor off of your instructions. Thank you so much!!!!
Me too!! It's perfect!!
Well done 👍... Thank you for sharing your video.
Wow I can't wait to get one of those wire cutters !!! So helpful
literally adding one to my cart right now lol
Its videos like this, that make my life easier.
Perfect, thank you so much for sharing how to do this, sir! I needed a few tips for the same type I'm building today. Those cutters!!! I have got to get one of those! ❤️
Great job Jared, sure serves it's purpose :) You're so fortunate to be able to keep so much from jobs you do!
Thanks for this. We have a stationary coop for our layers, who can free range, and years past we took some for processing. They charge by the bird, so we thought maybe get some fryers for economy. We needed a little something for them to live in past 4 weeks. This setup will make that possible.
Very good ! God Bless !!!
Thanks for sharing. I had items at home which made it so much better. Thanks again.
Wow Jared those wire cutters are awesome. Didn't know they existed. Looks great. Well done buddy.
Best chicken tractor video I’ve seen! Thanks.
This is my kind of video. Something you can really use around the homestead. Good Job & God Bless!
thank ya
My only suggestion is to make the "coop" part have a door so you could access them that way. Would also make a great rabbit tractor
I think I would have added a perch in the covered area to keep the birds from sleeping on the ground and possibly on manure. Other than that, I liked this tractor build! It's big enough to keep the average predators out, yet small enough for the kids to move it around too.
I built my tractor pretty much like that a couple of years ago. It's funny how we came up with the same design.
Looks great. And I really like that cutting tool for the drill, that's just downright neat!
thank ya they are awesome cutters
You Sir are a wealth of knowledge. God Bless your family🙏😁
Thank you so much
Nice job partner. I got 25 Buffs thats gonna go out sometime this week. Just weaning then off the heat lamp. I made one almost just like this one. Thanks for the video.
Nice work!! super handy size also
Nice chicken tractor, simple and easy to build. Thumbs up! Have a Blessed Day Friend!
thank you
Well done!
Our chicken tractors are like this just steeper pitch. Good job i also have that tool for cutting metal i use to install metal roofs.
Deep South Homestead thank ya! I was thinking after I built it steeper would be better for my bigger chickens. Those cutters are great use them about every week around the farm or doin handy man work. God Bless y’all
Very good job. Loved the drill attachment.
I'd may buy one of those, that looks so handy!
Very nice job Hatred. Enjoy all your videos. Take care and God bless.
Ron Mack thank you!!
Job well done Jared
Nice job & very economical for the homestead.
thank you! and we like to save a nickle where we can
That's great. I've never seen that cutting attachment for a drill before, it worked well. Thanks, I enjoyed this video and you gave me some new ideas.
I was going to say the same thing. Need to see if we can find one of those. Looks like a necessary item. Nice $30 tractor too.

That is a cool tool.
my folks lived up "Honey Run" which was really a lick, however I guess calling it " Honey Lick" could be misconstrued . Making your chicken tractor out of 1x2 's for covering new seedling from rabbits and my dogs .
I love your accent so much.
Really helpful, thanks
🚨🚨 Hey y’all! Just found your channel searching for chicken tractors. Excited to follow along! 🚨🚨

I have a ton of scrap wood but don't have time to build one.For something dependable you can make cheap and in a hurry this is it! Thanks! By the way I love that tool! I'm already shopping for one.
Thank ya, that tool is a life saver around the farm or handy man work!
@@FlutyLickHomestead I'm planning on making one same size God willing and will send you a little something for your trouble.God bless! Thanks again!
Thanks great job and video. I would not call your wire hardware cloth though. Hardware cloth is 1/2 x 1/2 or less and it is a lot thinner wire. I know this wire as rabbit cage bottom wire and it will cost you more than hardware cloth. This is MUCH stronger wire though and is necessary if you have predators which believe me, you do!
This looks simple enough even for me. 😊
That was an awesome drill attachment to cut the hardware cloth where did you find that? How many birds can you fit in that tractor?
Man...if you havnt already...you should make a video about what a "fluty lick" means...enjoyed the video buddy
Stoney Ridge Farmer I think I’ve only mentioned it a live video, it’s the name of the road we live on the creek that flows threw it is called Fluty Lick Lol most the little creeks here they called a lick. I need to do one on that
I agree!
good job
thank you
A big hello!!! Working that fast you must wore plum out... lol
yea boy! plum tuckered out
Fluty Lick Homestead Who you kidding? Us hillbillies don't get tired we just rewind!! Have a good day!!
Is it cold where you are? I've been building chicken tractors but takes me 4 days of continued work to make them as I make them taller and with a separate wall/door to their house to keep them warm. Does your design with no floor or house wall work?
Great Video! How long do you think those boards will last before they start rotting? I just built a chicken tractor and used recycled wood that hasn't been treated, and was just curious if you might have any idea. Really enjoying your channel, definitely subscribed!
Very good

What type of chickens are those? I like them because they seem pretty quiet, which is a breed I need here in the city.
I have had many breeds over the years. The quietest and most docile birds I have ever had are Silver Laced Wyandotte’s.
Orpingtons tend to be pretty quiet as well
I am having predators eat my free range chickens is a chicken tractor the solution?
Is there a floor, wire or something, on the bottom? If not what keeps the preditors from getting in the bottom?
Do the chickens stay out overnight in the tractor? Is it their permanent home?
Where do the eggs get layed and collected?
This one is small and I just put them in it for a day or so at a time, mine does not have a floor but might be able to put one
Do they just sit on the ground? I mean if it's raining a lot wouldn't it still be wet under the tin?
They are on the ground usually does good unless it’s a lot of rain
Jared, where did you find that cutter you used ? WOW
Banjo Cantrell got it at Evans Hardware in Inez. Best tool I’ve got for metal work on roofs and such
Wow nice vid,p.s. where did that cutter come from?
here is a link to them

Great video, How many chickens can live in there?
ive let 2 or 3 hens in mine and move them around, I mostly use mine for small young chickens
How many chickens could you fit in here?
ive put 2 or 3 hens in it and use it a lot for small chickens to start them off
How does something like this work against predators? The main ones are coyotes, raccoons, bob cats and snakes
Chicken wire has gotten expensive in last 5 years
Oven in the sun?
What size is it
Cassidy Lockard this one is about 3 feet by 8 feet. Made to just move a few chickens around
like prison man this is way to small for a chicken but good for a quail or rabbit
NO safety..use hand gloves..PPE
