Great job guys. It's refreshing to see young folks just be natural and not try to fake it up! You keep doing what your doing, keep that ox outta the ditch, keep the crows out of your corn, and the most important thing--- Keep your powder dry!! God bless and keep having fun!

Living in paradise. Please never take it for granted. I grew up in the Appalachians in Tn, Va and I joined the military and of course that look me a million miles away from the life. Now I'm stuck in the city dealing with assholes every day. The only thing we can grow here in the desert is weeds and cactus.

You two are the sweetest couple!! Such a joy seeing young folks farming and raising food for their families. Oh, one thing I didn't hear you mention but nearly all southerners grow...okra! I love that. Tell you something an old farmer once told me to produce a bumper crop. He said every day you pick an okra pod, cut off the lowest leaf. Keep doing that every time you gather it. That okra plant will grow so tall you finally can't reach the top. Mine look like trees they get so tall. And the best way to freeze okra is to bag it whole without washing it. Washing it causes freezer burn. When you take out a bag from freezer, then wash it and slice for frying. Tastes fresh that way.

I went back in time watching you makin' biscuits and gravy. Momma made the gravy exactly that way and I never have been able to make mine come out without lumps. I learned how this mornin'!
It's a wondrous thing that you kids are preserving how to live off the land the old down-home way with dignity and respect.
I could go on and on, but just one little tidbit. I LOVE the kids "nicknames"! You are "two peas in a pod" with obvious love and Christian family values to be admired. Oops, that's five peas!

You two kids are living and raising your kids the right way, the old way, the out of fashion way! Glad to see that there is still some common sense in this world - It's March 2019 when I am watching this - Jared's spring garden episodes have had me looking at non -GMO seeds, especially Kentucky Wonders, French breakfast radishes and onion sets.

David Brockman I am 82 years old and just found out how to eat radishes other than just cutting them up in a salad. I was raised in the country until I was 15, my Mom only washed them and put them in a little bowls on the table with meals.I will most certainly try frying them soon, thank you so much , God bless.

OK; You got me. I shed a tear listening to Jared talk about his garden, and the way you talk. I love reading books of early American history. Life of Abe Lincoln when he was a rail splitter before he practiced law. Early American life of true pioneer people. Their hardships, babies lost, daily struggles. Simple ways and means. You sold corn and beans and a mule for your first guitar. Life isn't more humble and honest than that. But it's one thing to read about early American life, but here now in the 21sh century and with the technology of TH-cam, I can honestly say, my understanding of early American life of people is still ALIVE AND WELL after all this time. Your handed down family traditions are wonderful to observe. And now you want to teach your children farming life...it's just all so great. God be with you and your family forever. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your wisdom.

I grew up in Kentucky and my parents were exactly like you two. They made sure that we could all grow, preserve the veggies, fruits and berries. We can all also put meat on the table, livestock and wild game. Yes, the boys learned cooking and canning and us girls can hunt and trap. I am now 57 yo and have lived in a very big city up north for over 20 yrs. I still grow my own veggies and put some up for the winter but do not hunt. Thanks for the jaunt into my past.

Hi Folks I just saw your channel today and watched several of your videos . A real joy to see you. . I live in the far north of Ontario Canada and growing food here is a real challenge. Temperatures can be -40 and even -50 f. and our season is only about 70 days. First frost hits about first week or so of September and last frost is middle June. How interesting to see you 2500 miles away. I noticed some of your comments say Lincoln is not in many videos. Don't be shy, you did great as you relaxed and got going. Totally enjoyed the visit. all the very best to you and your family Paul subscribed

Watching your video about the tour of the cabin made me cry. I was just overwhelmed with emotion. I remember my grand aunt lived in an old house like this one and listening to you tell about the hammie downs from your Great Great Grandma and Great Grandma, made me smile big. I have nothing left for me, so I love that you will have these things to pass down to your kids. OH and Laken, I don't know how to garden, but I'm doing a lot of research and youtubing. I think we're gonna start with deck gardens first.

You are such a beautiful family and you guys have a super great channel. Think I just watched an hours worth maybe more. I have to turn off because I'm born up north and miss the old wholesome ways. Trust me when I say societies are crumbling and it's a real blessing to see folks still living the good life. God bless your lives, animals, gardens and property.

Your video helped me answer a trivia question. I never knew what three sister plantings was until I watched your video. Evidently the native Americans used this planting style. Your videos are not only entertaining they are educational too. My husband is from Butchers Valley just outside of Rogersville TN. Love y’all such a sweet family and I love your lifestyle

Good advice . Thanks . Love your videos . I gardened a lot in the past . Kids are gone and married . I get my fresh foods from the Amish now . My mom made the best pear preserves . On home made biscuits , it's to die for . You didn't mention eggplant , l'm glad , l can't handle that vegetable . I live in Lyndon Ky outside Louisville . I learned so much from my dad and father in law . Great gardeners . Both gone now 😪 ps . Your a sweet couple , down to earth . You make me happy . God bless you real good too !
