I think at this point it’s on us we’re the suckers that keep buying from them so until their sales tank and the prices or quality changes they will continue to cut corners.
Exactly no one is forcing us to buy a robot Thor.
Hasbro cuts any more corners, we’ll have a perfect circle. Great review though, and the figure seems fine other than losing the extra hand. I agree that in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal, but it’s the principle that’s disappointing.
I would be fine with this price hike if this Thor had a fabric cape, an extra headsculpt that is normal Thor, better paint apps on the boots, a more firm plastic on the mjolnir, and pinless joints. Hasbro can do it, but they cut corners to save money because they know we'll still buy it. We need to start speaking with our wallets.
I feel like the non-robotic face should have normal eyes. That way fans that weren't able to get 80th Thor can use this instead.
So true, plus it's just an exact copy of the 80s version rather than the new helmet.
I cant fit ,doesnt hold the hammers effect ,and I painted the red eyes to blue like a blue lightning

Great review! I am going to order one and customize it and paint the relaxed head’s eyes black and only use the human hand to have my own “80th Anniversary Thor” because the real deal is going for big bucks now.
I just got Ragnarok and Mighty Thor to display in a cool fighting action scene against each other. I might try adding the robot faker head from motu masterverse on this figure to use as a full mech evil Thor. I might pick up that other Thor with the blue gold and strange helmet to have as Mighty Thor's partner and a different character
I pre-ordered mine when it was first announced still haven't got it or heard anything about when it's coming!!

Thanks for doing a video on Thor Ragnarök. I thought I was buying a normal Thor not a robot but now I can pose him with Iron Man kicking Tony Starks but lol. This means I need to buy another Thor maybe from the MCU or something.
I hope I get to buy this action figure just as soon as I see it at Target. I'm not sure how much it'll cost. I wonder how many inches tall is it. It looks like it's about 7 inches tall. But most Marvel Legend action figures is 6 inches tall. I'm mostly a DC MULTIVERSE fan. But I do like some of the Marvel Legends action figures too. I would like to get that Ragnarok Thor Cybernetic Clone and I also like to buy that Goliath action figure too.
I'm perplexed by people complaining about the quality of Thor, considering that it's a figure that for you only costs 20 Dolls
In my country (Brazil) the Thor Figure costs more than 400 Reais which, converting into Dollars, costs 76 Dollars💀😕
Toys R Us in Japan has these. However the prices over here are insane right now. Both Ulik's new version and this Thor came out about 3 weeks ago or so. Ulik was 6,000 yen and Thor is 6,500 yen!

Man now that I know it actually spins I guess it should include the words and your photos really reflected how cool it looks in motion! We either need more cool accessories like this included with the figures or some type of Pulse exclusive accessory pack maybe with that extra missing robotic hand!
I’m buying this cos it’s extremely hard to get any decent mcu or comic Thor in my experience for retail price.
They would have to have used a different Mjolnir mold if it didn't have the writing on it. So it was probably more cost effective to use that one. Instead of switching molds during production. Just my guess.
I understand that worldwide energy prices and materials plus transport have increased, but if Hasbro already spent the money on a new hand sculpt, why not include it with this figure as they were going to. After all the big cost is creating the new sculpt and tooling a mould. Overall the figure looks great and is good re-use.

We technically get 9 Mjolnirs and one of the coolest accessories in action figures. I would jump at this guy for $30, it looks so much better than the Select at the same price point.

7:07 this will forever be engraved in my memory as one shining example of toy collectors being petty and picky Hall of Fame. It's not your comment though so it's not on you. Can't help but to imagine if they actually had wasted the money on making a new writing-less Hammer, someone out there would call them lazy for not including the writing.
I mean the figure is alright, there's a lot of negatives that can be pointed out but that one struck me as way too petty lol.
For the rest, anyone who thinks Hasbro is going to make a single (1, read: one) completely newly sculpted figure and NEVER use that sculpt for anything else needs to grow up. Of course they're gonna try to milk it as much as possible, they don't wanna go the way of Toy biz.
I have the 80th so I don't have much of a need to get this but I never get angry about re-issues or repaints because out there there's new collectors coming into the hobby every day and they deserve the chance to get their definitive versions of figures too.
As always, great job man. My go-to reviewer out there. One does not always agree with reviewers but even then the value of the review itself comes through, always appreciate your comments and insight.

What's up with the stubby little handle on the hammer? Mjolnir in the comics is always depicted with a smaller handle, but it's not choad small like this! lol Proportions are off on the hammer, and the writing on the hammer is very unnecessary, IMO. Otherwise this figure isn't bad.

Honestly, Hasbro is losing me as a collector. I only buy their products when they are being clearanced or on a fairly deep sale.
This figure, sucks about the hand. I think I would have liked to see a head with normal eyes just so if you wanted a normal Thor, you got it. Otherwise it's what the 2nd/3rd chance to grab this version of Thor.
Price Increase
Whatever the reason for it. In the end for a consumer, it needs to offer enough to justify the price. Whether that's $5, $50, or $500.
Would I rather by a figure from say Hasbro or buy a sandwich and some Hasbro offerings lean toward that italian beef.
The fact that the hand they took away was in the promo images shows it was budgeted for when the figure was in development. Hasbro's dropping a lot of balls lately, and this is a pretty sketchy example of that.
BTW, "gypped" is a racist term you might want to avoid. Maybe you could replace it with "We got Hasbroed."
