@@thomasg9213 yea it’s like that sometimes, he’s a cool figure, just likes to fall, you either have to stand him so that he’s leaning to balance out the cape weight, or lean him on a wall or shelf, but I highly suggest putting him somewhere that if he does fall he doesn’t take out too many other guys with him
Thor-Bot is a cool figure and I picked it up on the cheap added it to my marvel legends collection along with the Mighty Thor, Ravager Thor and blue/gold Thor. Raganarok fits well in the display battling against them. I swapped Ravager Thors head on the blue/gold armored Thor to display with Mighty Thor fighting Raganarok. Those two look badass displayed together fighting Thor-Bot
My favorite is the Esad Ribic godbomb/godbutcher design. I still hope we'll get one eventually, especially since they jumped that look to the herald thor
Baron Zemo gained a ton of popularity with the MCU show and they subsequently released an awesome classic comic figure that sold out instantly. After people learn about the God Butcher in Thor 4, there should be a market for that crazy design. Or even better, we get a Mezco release with a couple crazy capes.
On the spinning hammer, you might be thinking of the Mafex Endgame Cap/upcoming Mafex Thor which has the spinning hammer where some of them are transparent.
I have the Marvel Select Mighty Thor, and he's gorgeously sculpted. He has huge shoulders, very wide torso, and overall just looks how a superhero should look. He also has great paint, and decent articulation, if a bit limited, but honestly the look is so good I don't really care. AND he has the spinning hammer effect, which I think was the first Thor to ever come with something like it. It's a bit smudgy but it has 12 whole hammers sculpted, unlike this one's 8. And honestly, I got it for less than the price of a marvel legend right now. It's a fantastic figure, sculpted by Dave Cortes I think. I still want this one though, I like the colors and the better articulation, but if I had to choose one I would choose the marvel select.
8/10, I agree. It's definitely a solid release. Although it's kind of a re-release of the 80th anniversary of Thor he can still be used in an Avengers display simply by swapping the head a d hand. It also gives people a second chance to get him if they missed out on the 80th anniversary Thor.
I only bought this one because I missed out on 80th Anniversary. Painted up the eyes on the non-terminator head and BAM, I have a Thor for my shelf without getting scalped on the secondary market. Incidentally, I have a terminator head and hand for sale 😂
I too am a classic Thor fan, but I'm also keen on the Avengers 2012 MCU Thor. As for the figure, I loved the 80 Years Thor but I feel like this one has less range than that one? Still, the spinning hammer effect is what I want mostly from this guy, but otherwise it's solid for people who missed out on that figure.
You talked about balls, pegs, and rigidity so much last video without a single TWSS, so I breathed a sigh of relief when it happened this time. It was really satisfying. I like his spinning accessory a lot. I’m not a fan of the windswept thing. Thanks for the awesome content Anthony❣️🤟💯
I don't mind if this a repaint with a new head along with a spinning hammer effect and robot hands because I need this Thor in my Avengers display even though he is a clone called Ragnarok created by Tony Stark in the Civil War comics, Awesome review on this cool figure Anthony.
Great review Anthony! I've been mostly a classic Thor design dude but when they brought him back with the silver chainmail arms, that was a pretty dope look as well. I think that combined with Copiel's art was awesome. How is your Rival Clans project coming along?
Are you still working on your custom line of action figures? Haven't seen any updates on it in a couple years and would love to see if you have made any progress! I've always been impressed with your designs and your work. Would love to see you designing figures for the community and putting Hasbro to shame! Keep up the good work!
i am. but with the new baby and the economy the way it is, things have slowed down. plus, the work im doing on the line now is the tedious technical stuff which wouldnt be anything to show you guys since it all looks the same practically speaking.
The paint on mine is pretty good. I was worried about that because the 80s year Thor had a ton of issues. I was going to pass on this until target had their spend $x get $y off promo, but I am actually pretty ok with this release, which is rare for legends
I found this guy at a amazon resale place. Honestly not a bad figure. He looks pretty good next to comic versions of the Avengers. Just wish he had blue eyes on the normal sculpt but I get what they were going for.
I personally like the Ultimates Thor look. Fully bearded, black and silver scheme, no sleeves, no cape and no helmet and a massive axe hammer that obliterates alien fleets. Thanks, Anthony!
I picked this one up for the swirly hammer. Enjoying it for the most part. But I noticed something with the cybernetic head. It has an extra set of feathers on the lower half of the “wings”. Just curious if anyone knows why?
Thanks for the review - your video is great. Big Thor fan over here, and I will still make a huge pass on this one. The reason is simply because I would rather save my money for a version of Thor I truly want, instead of (not even) a version that appeared briefly in one event. The funny thing is that Hasbro would have had my $$$ by simply re-releasing the 80th but wearing a beard. I wish that ML would utilize their specialized bucks for a better character selection. I am a comic book fan so the 80th is the closest to a Kirby/Buscema Thor that I need. I have the MS Thors that give me the Coipel and a somewhat Ribic version. I would love to have a Simonson version from the late 80's in the armor he wore when Hela cast the spell on him and all his bones broke.
I just noticed they fixed the loose torso of the 80th Thor. And because of the loose torso, Thor's body is slanting. This Ragnarok got tighter torso and it looks good.
I pre-ordered the Mafex classic Thor as it blows away the 80th anniversary version as it comes with multiple heads/hands/various hammer handles and the swirling hammer effect is superior to the swirling FX of this Ragnarok version.
I'll rather have a regular cape going down than to the side. But in general, figures are this price point need to have soft goods for capes, preferably with bendy wire
With a steady hand, I could see someone repainting the eyes to make it look like classic Thor, but the no fist hand bothers me. I’m betting that they might release a Thor for the 20th anniversary wave since they already did Cap, Hulk, and Iron Man. But that may be a while so I might see if I can get lucky on eBay for 80 years Thor.
i do collect mafex...some times. sometimes they have way too many flaws and cost way too much. no super7 due to the ridiculous prices and terrible qc/articulation
Hi Anthony. Did you ever put together the Marvel Legends Ursa Major build a figure? I think I saw you review the rest of the wave but not that one and was wondering if you were going to review it? Thought it would be funny since it's just a bear action figure
i did and i uploaded it but when someone asked me the other day, i couldnt find the video. i know i posted it and even got comments on the video but it doesnt exist on youtube anymore and i dont have the file.
Oh, man. The valley girl Thor look from the 90's was probably the best. You know, the one with the bare midriff, huge codpiece, open-face head sock, tank top, wraps, bandoliers and approximately sixteen miles of hair. What a design. Mwah... Chef's kiss. Godpack Thor is a close second though.
Thor is my favorite Marvel character, and my favorite look for him is very oddly specific which kind of sucks because I'll never see it in figure form. It's the Heroic Age Thor where he comes back from the dead, designed by Olivier Coipel. The rendition I love is from Gabrielle Dell'Otto who painted some of the variant covers from that time, and he draws Thor a bit more slender and less beefy, but he also does this awesome thing with the helmet where the wings come down and cover his cheeks, similar to like a Spartan helmet shape. Coipel always drew Thor stockier and bulky, and his horn wings are too small for my liking. Just look up the variant cover for Siege #2 by Dell'Otto if you want a better idea of what I'm talking about. A long and complicated answer, but the short form is that Heroic Age is close enough and I'll gladly pick up any figure of it.
Yeah the accessory makes this figure. If you're going to give a repaint, do ONE thing cool, please Hasbro. A new head and a new hand aren't enough. An elaborate accessory, cloth cape or awesome base? I can be sold on those.
Can someone mail hasbro a dictionary with the word “Deluxe” highlighted? This may not be a horrible figure, but it does absolutely nothing to warrant being called deluxe or the extra price (I wouldn’t even pay $20 for it)
They gave him the “wind swept” cape because he falls over constantly, it adds to the realism when he’s falling off the shelf 🤣
Ugh sad and happy at the same time to know it’s not just mine. 😭😂

Hopefully. That and a comic Gorr would make me happy. They did a crappy Odinson with the Ragnorak wave
Get the Marvel Select version. It's way better than the Marvel legends version and also comes with the spinning mjolnir effect.
On the spinning hammer, you might be thinking of the Mafex Endgame Cap/upcoming Mafex Thor which has the spinning hammer where some of them are transparent.
That could very well be the case
Thorminator looks pretty decent, but eh doesn't do much for me as a character. Great review, though, Anthony!

I really liked Ultimate Thor's design. He looked like a hippie in a tech suit.
he also was supposed to come with a half robot gripping hand for the right side like in the promo images

Hasbro’s attempt taking the two interesting accessories of diamond select immortal hulk and Disney exclusive Thor: this figure

having the inscription in the rotating hammer destroys the illusion that it is suppose to be rotating
Yep
The fist hand that comes with Thunderstrike could work I think the two are close enough in skin tone that it works.
The paint on mine is pretty good. I was worried about that because the 80s year Thor had a ton of issues.

Could you start doing Masterverse figures, starting with the first wave of 2024?
I 100% agree with all your critics and even though I would never pay for it i wouldn't mind owning it.
Thanks for the review Anthony.
Does it have gummy knees like the 80th thor?
Zup Anthony, this figure, to me looks pretty good, but the lack of shading and paint is a deal breaker, thanks for the video bro 😎

I'm a huge fan of the Lord Thor look. Shame the old ass Hasbro figure isn't great but I don't think they'd do it better if they redid it now.
The boots thing just kills me. First thing I saw when I took it out of the package. Absolutely lazy.
They have to make this him more jacked. Compare his arms to the Toybiz Thor, and he looks puny.
Ragnarok DEFINATELY reminds me of Faker from Masters of the Universe. Robotic version of the hero that is meant to sully the name of the hero
