Actually that is what I felt. They are obviously agreeing that this IT jobs gives stress and health problems. Why don't they take it as a challenge or a blessings in disguise to divert their skills into farming and extend the farming technology and productivity by exporting food products to countries that have no natural resources and land to farm. They can be healthy at the same time be a boss of their own . It looks like they can't accept any drastic change with their working lifestyle. In fact this change could be companies cutting cost due to the current economic shake in the country and also giving way for young and fresh graduates an opportunity to make their start instead of being jobless after graduation. Hello friends, job retrenchment is not the only pain in life. What if you keep on going on in this job just because you are making tons of money but suddenly drop dead or have a stroke and become a worthless person. That will be even be a biggest pain being a burden to your family. Almost 99 percent IT Engineers complain life and work is stressful in statistics ! Enough of life sitting for hours in an AC room without sweating, blinking and moving your butt. Go out to agricultural field and take the challenge. My advice to them was to earn as much as they can, save as much as they can without wasting money, and be prepared to retire by forty years of age. A lot of employees from the industry splurge on so many things, not providing for a rainy day. This much alone is what we can do, and what is in our hands. We can't fight an entire industry. If tomorrow cheaper skilled manpower is available elsewhere, they will just pack up and go there, the government can do nothing.

IT software is mainly divided into below categories 1) Digital - Highest paid segment with data science , AI, ML, all emerging technologies 2) Development in open source - java, micro service, etc 3) Development in legacy projects - mainframe , Oracle , etc 4) Maintenance 5) Administration 6) Support Here 3,4,5 and 6 are considered junk work going forward as many are automated and no need of manual support...also all legacy projects in mainframe is being moved to java and people working in mainframe also possess risk...so better upgrade yourself to emerging technologies like block chain, virtual reality, data science etc ...it is easy to get job in software if we have the right skill..software is the only place where they pay awesome salary for right skill
Simple boss, first allservice based companies get less skilled works from client, example prod support, content MGMT, level 1/2 support in any technology. So they need only low skilled workers with less salary. No company in India is getting project to create OS development projects.
One reason is that to achieve goal n sustain the global market, these managerial skills are being paid for 24 x 7 hours n so their salary is also vastly high n the difference is suddenly very much more than their previous salary. And the company , after some years is citing their salary only, and is neglecting their services.
IT retrenchment affected employees are well experienced persons and knows the all details about the IT sector , clients . IT industry does not require big investment , just office space , net connection and laptops . These people can start their own startup , competitive with the big companies. That is the way they should take , don't think about rejoin . Tamilnadu provides to IT industries more employees . Think about tamilnadu create more startups like Silicon valley. We wish to see that moment .
Unlearn is not a viable concept. But learning and developing must be priority for every person employed. All the complaints mentioned here are very common. But not many see as a complaint as long as they are employed. Knowledge transfer is not how Indian education system train us. So, this is a major problem, employers and employees are struggling. Margins for Software Infrastructure companies (Gross - 80+%) SG&A takes a large portion of margin. Head Heavy organizations.

Actually that is what I felt. They are obviously agreeing that this IT jobs gives stress and health problems. Why don't they take it as a challenge or a blessings in disguise to divert their skills into farming and extend the farming technology and productivity by exporting food products to countries that have no natural resources and land to farm.
They can be healthy at the same time be a boss of their own .
It looks like they can't accept any drastic change with their working lifestyle. In fact this change could be companies cutting cost due to the current economic shake in the country and also giving way for young and fresh graduates an opportunity to make their start instead of being jobless after graduation.
Hello friends, job retrenchment is not the only pain in life. What if you keep on going on in this job just because you are making tons of money but suddenly drop dead or have a stroke and become a worthless person. That will be even be a biggest pain being a burden to your family.
Almost 99 percent IT Engineers complain life and work is stressful in statistics ! Enough of life sitting for hours in an AC room without sweating, blinking and moving your butt. Go out to agricultural field and take the challenge.

This much alone is what we can do, and what is in our hands. We can't fight an entire industry. If tomorrow cheaper skilled manpower is available elsewhere, they will just pack up and go there, the government can do nothing.

In Dubai any type of company ,if they terminate their employees they should pay 3 months of salary, this is the rule over there , so this rule should apply in India also.

1) Digital - Highest paid segment with data science , AI, ML, all emerging technologies
2) Development in open source - java, micro service, etc
3) Development in legacy projects - mainframe , Oracle , etc
4) Maintenance
5) Administration

Here 3,4,5 and 6 are considered junk work going forward as many are automated and no need of manual support...also all legacy projects in mainframe is being moved to java and people working in mainframe also possess risk...so better upgrade yourself to emerging technologies like block chain, virtual reality, data science etc ...it is easy to get job in software if we have the right skill..software is the only place where they pay awesome salary for right skill

Simple boss, first allservice based companies get less skilled works from client, example prod support, content MGMT, level 1/2 support in any technology. So they need only low skilled workers with less salary. No company in India is getting project to create OS development projects.
