If you removed the side cover the sounds would be much louder 🔥 sounds amazing
@@manoknapula6971 Though it may be louder, performance is sacrificed! We tried this.... sounds great in theory, doesn't work as well as sourcing fresh ambient air utilizing the duct.

Do i need a tune after installing intake?
Nope
Just installed this bad boy in my black FK8. The install was a nightmare, especially the intake hose install. Your video helped me a lot, especially the bit about the rubber grommet on the bottom of the stock intake box. I was struggling trying to get the box out until I watched your video. The sound from the new intake sounds amazing!

Nice PRL air intake plus reduce the heat soak! You will hear more turbo spool from intake!

I just installed the same PRL HVI (Street Edition) and after driving it a couple miles I got a rev matching system error and a engine emissions error. I checked all the wiring and everything seems fine. Did anyone else have this happen to them?
Do you have to remove the box to clean the filter? It doesn't look like a super easy design for cleaning the filter easily.
Just install mine but soem reason I didn't here the whooshing sound did I fo something wrong?
Hey IK you sold your Type R, but for the MAF sensor do you remember what kinda hex key you used to put in the PRL supplied bolts?

Good stuff man! Great content since the beginning with the Si. Just wondering, are you considering doing an install on the J’s racing front grill? I think that grill looks sick, but, haven’t seen any install videos. I know you might not have the heating issues that the 17-19 yr have, cause 2020 came with a bigger grill. Well, at least that’s what I’ve heard tho. Nonetheless, congrats on that beast. Hope you enjoy as much as I do with mine.

Congrats on the FK8! I’m sure you did it, but if not, I’d use some loctite on those screws that keep the panel on the air box. They tend to rattle out little by little over time.
Our installation guide also suggests this :)

How loud is the "blow-off" noise whilst shifting normally (eco, low rev shifting etc)?
Louder than a rooster at 530am. It's more subtle when not under a WOT scenario, but still audible.

That would be the factory recirculation valve :) Hope that's not the internal wastegate lol
I don't understand it I followed every step in this video and car is not running right I took it for a drive and not a code for emission problem and Rev match problem

Install mine today but I didn’t have the keychain and stickers come in the box smh

As much as I like the extra whoosing noise. I can't help but concern if I will get tired of the extra in a long term. My stock airbox makes the same noise but quietly so. My fk8 is a stage 1 tuned. After I drove it hard at a track, the intake noise became louder. Anyone has had this experience?

I never get tired of it. Only really noticeable when doing pulls etc… that extra whoosh I like!
It’s like the turbo spool I don’t get tired of it and it’s easy to avoid producing the noise. End of the day it’s all preference. I’m sure you’ve made up your mind considering this comment was 1+ years ago
@@franklin6930 You're right.I ended up only going of the spoon filter. The noise doesn't increase as much as a dedicated box but it's fun haha
Stupid noob question but how do you make that noise....I just came from a automatic ext to my first manual Car which is a type r. I ain’t gonna do this yet until I break it in but how do I make that noise when parked? Do I have it in neutral and hit the gas? Hold in clutch, leave in neutral, and rev? Hold in clutch, put in first gear, then rev? Sorry for the dumb questions lol
You’ll need the HVI intake to make that sound.

Is the type r faster then your big turbo si that you had ?
Based on the mods he had at the time, it would be pretty even.
Type r has 306hp at crank and dynos 280-295whp stock. SI with the 2860R turbo, and since he was tuned by Derek it should be around 295-305whp/290-300 torque as he normally stops around that area on pump gas.

How much of a performance difference is there
With a type R compared to the SI
A huge difference
Completely different driving vehicles, being able to throw the TypeR into scenarios and corners you couldn't with the Si is indescribable.
It's a night and day difference I had a 2018 black SI and traded in for a 2019 SGP Type R and damn.!!!
