HANDS DOWN. The most dynamic and practical tutorial of this gimble I've seen so far. And I love the fact that you placed a large lens on it to test the weight limit. I have not seen the 70-200 on the gimble yet so thank you.
Over here looking at my Crane V2 like make one false move and you're outta here. Your videos are so engaging and I love that you said "mains" when referring to your camera and phone reminds me of my WoW days!
MY friend ..! GREAT JOB ! You need nobody to inspire you ! YOU ALREADY GREAT ! YOUR TH-cam CHANNEL IS GREAT !!! JUST KEEP GOING !!!! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF MORE !!!
Atola...Nicely done my dear... I'm totally enjoying this gimbal..took over a month in .5 on back order, but I'd have to say totally worth it..The build quality of this gimbal is stellar...Welp you have a new Sub thanx again!
awesome vid! I just picked mine up I (it arrived yesterday) so we'll see how it works with my sony gear. thanks for the production value! seriously, great work!
I just got the Ronin-M, the GH5S and the Ronin-S within the last few months. I also got the ProAim Astra 12ft Camera Jib/Crane. I have to figure what mounts I am going to need to mount them to the jib/crane. But I really didn't know what I was buying either. I just knew that I wanted good equip. I love the GH5S but I hate the lack of stabilization. Your video was great I feel that I learned a lot from you just now.
High quality production Kitty - loved the whip pan transitions at 3:38...great stuff. I'm surprised these gimbal manufacturers are not paying more attention to the Z-axis to eliminate the dreaded walking bounce effect...I can't ninja walk on a rocky/uneven trail during a long scenic hike for example. The Pilotfly H2 gimbal offers a Z-axis stabilizer that can be used with one hand and is highly effective. So I have to carry two gimbals now, the other being the Crane 2 for the follow focus feature.
Yeah with that terrain its understandable. Hopefully theyll have some time of accessory . I've been looking at something that would work for the ninja walk. Happy to know the one you have works well and with only one hand!
Great video! Just curious as to what camera settings you used to shoot the car video - we have a Sony A7SII + Ronin S and our pans are jittery/choppy as heck despite trying different frame rates and shutter speeds. Very frustrated...
Thank you for all you do and share... love that I found you... trust your judgment on these things. Want to buy one of these when I can afford.. Need it now because I want to film about homelessness and I do a lot of mini docs of people an their dogs. Keep moving forward because you are AWESOME.
Thanks for the video! Very informative on my next gimbal.. I recently purchased the SC model but unfortunately the SC couldn't handle the payload of my Canon EOS RP with a battery grip. So I got a refund and used that money to get the S. So after watching this, I'm confident that the S will support the heavier cameras and I'm excited to see what kind of footage I can get.
I'm really on the fence about getting this gimbal, and upgrading from my Zhiyun Crane V2. I just really want that cool 360 roll feature. My only hesitation, WEIGHT. All the reviews I've seen have said that this thing is HEAVY. However, after seeing you rock it during this shoot, I'm considering getting it. Note: Totally not assuming you have weak arms or anything.
Just pulled my Ronin S out of the box. I also have the wireless DJI Focus. I'm thinking of trying to use the focus (using Sony A7Sii / metabones / Canon EF lenses) but I'm afraid it may be just too much gear to manage. Any thoughts? Also thought of having someone else use that to pull focus...but then I would also have to somehow get that person a monitor...aaah...more gear on the rig!
Thanks for this, very useful. I also appreciate how your video isn’t full of clumsy jump cuts. Watching other videos on here you’d think they were impossible to avoid.
My friend Gerald Undone brought me here ! Hi Kitty ! looking into this gimbal... have you ever tried it with an iPhone ? just wondering. I'd be using it with a DSLR but still wonder if it works with an iPhone or GoPro too... thanks ! Mark in Canada over at the BakeLikeAPro recipe channel.
YASSSS!!! What perfect timing for this video as I just received my Ronin-S on Friday, which crazy enough I ordered on June 4th and Friday the 13th happened to be my Birthday! I as well am looking forward to the accessories DJI will release for this amazing gimbal (some sort of dual handle and a car mount would be dope). I'm rocking the A7R3 too, but with the 16-35 GM. Super simple to balance and setup the Ronin-S. Keep up the great work Kitty!!!
The tripod plate SLIDES right into my manfrotto 502AH tripod head with no issues. So, the part where you said it doesn't slide into those manfrotto heads is incorrect.
looking at some of the features (and motor placement) it looks pretty much the older sibling of the feiyu G6, which i have for my gopro.. looks like i'll be getting this one for the larger cams.. thanks a lot for your review :)
Random but see at 5:29, you have a plate that covers the exposed accessory port. Did this come with yours? I got the essentials kit so it didn't come with thati think. Did you buy it separately?
Dope video have you tried using a quick release with your setup mines(manfrotto 323)to hard to balance with gh5 and 18-35 so I’m not even gone use it. Plus it doesn’t seem that hard to set up once you got the initial balance out the way and keep same lense setup
atola visuals quick release plate like the manfrotto 323. Quick release plate pose to allow you to not have to rebalance the gimbal everytime you take it off.
It would be nice to compare the Ronin-S/Crane-2 against an actual SteadiCam. If you would be intrested I'll help since I am a SteadiCam owner/ operator.
Is there a POV mode on the ronin? Also is there a lock mode where you dont have to hold the trigger like the crane 2? And is there a pan follow mode? or just tilt follow because that is the default and is there a way to stay into sport mode? Or do you have to set the motor speed on the app and use up one of the three modes? And to get an all locked mode do you have to set the gimbal response to 0 in the app and use up one of the modes again? Can you even set them to 0? Im asking this because if not when i put it on a monopod or its out of reach these modes are useless, and if switching operators during a single scene you would let go pf the gimbal and you could mess up a shot because its not in sport mode or locked any more
Cant get smooth footage when walking to save my life. All axis balancing test results are perfect.Ive even tweaked headband and sensitivity values.Using Sony a6300 w Sony 18-105 it's been a real shitty ride being caught in between the Sony vs Dji debacle and even after releasing the control cable the focus wheel(which is a zoom wheel for Sony cameras) functions poorly with the 18-105mm lens which is on DJI's list of compatible lens.Should have kept my came TV optimus.Grading it on stability the ronin s is no match.
Thanks for the video. I'm still on the fence about this gimbal, since camera compatibility for features like the focus wheel is very limited, for now. I have an Osmo mobile for my phone, which got me hooked on gimbals, and now am looking to involve my 1DX2. I am almost positive the Ronin-S will be what I get, but I want to wait for more users to tell about their experiences, and see how quickly DJI updates it for camera compatibility. Hopefully, you can keep updating this post with the developments for this gimbal. Let your NSX owner know that the race versions of his car will be racing this weekend in Lime Rock, Conn. Channel FS1, Saturday at 1 PM. Should be a good race!
I was randomly buying the GH5s and the Ronin S without even knowing I‘m lucky because of the features like pull focus. I‘m soo happy I bought the GH5s 😅
Once the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K would be available...which gimbal would you recommend for that? → Tilta G2X or Ronin S (maybe they will have their actual technical problems settled until then)...
Martin Pužík They both will def hold it no problem. I doubt it will be able to work the features like follow focus with the cables however. Hopefully I'm wrong caz that I'm excited for that camera

Meow2 :) Thats the reason why I m asking. This is the rig planned. Both do not support Blackmagic anyway...nothing does [except Blackmagic own's products]. Love Tilta's wooden handle and design. DJI is even more sturdy, but is definitely heavier. You do a great job btw. Keep up no matter what :)
Depends on what you shoot. If you want camera movement then I think so. Theres always sliders, drones, dollies, and jibs, but I find a gimbal can do almost everything I need.
HANDS DOWN. The most dynamic and practical tutorial of this gimble I've seen so far. And I love the fact that you placed a large lens on it to test the weight limit. I have not seen the 70-200 on the gimble yet so thank you.

Perfect editing and superb quality. Thank you for the great video. 👋👍
I'm getting one. I have a moza air.
Thanks for the help ! Used my ronin today for the first time and love it .
Where did you buy it?
...howdy from Nashville, TN...it is 2020 and I am renting one for some BTS of a photoshoot with one of my colleagues...great video as always, Kitty!!
OMG, thank you. Have been searching for a week on which tripod and head to use and the walking tips and speed pan tip were a bonus. Cheers!
Oh yay happy to help you find exactly what you need. I did a full review on that tripod as well here: th-cam.com/video/0pz8BzbstuE/w-d-xo.html
That actually was an enjoyable review, unlike many boring reviews I’ve come across
Hahaha thanks. Happy you had as much fun watching it as I did making it
Finally, I find a woman techie to subscribe to! You kill the videos, lady, and I really appreciate the clear, competent, concise delivery. Nice work.
Thanks so much. Im so happy to hear that :) Welcome to the channel!
One of the best reviews of RONIN-S on YT .. and best looking reviewer by far .. in a professional way! :)
Wow thanks so much for that! Appreciate the love!
Atola...Nicely done my dear...

Thank you thank you! Have fun!
Do You got a video for smooth running settings.!??
Awesome with the Nsx comparison lol are there suction mount options for it?
Not yet but Im sure there will be
I just got the Ronin-M, the GH5S and the Ronin-S within the last few months. I also got the ProAim Astra 12ft Camera Jib/Crane. Just ordered mine... can’t wait!
Woo woo!
Hi, very good video... can you make some tutorial how to focus with gimball? do you use push focus, manual focus? auto focus?
Armageddon I use manual and auto because I'm on Sony. You can also just put the fstop at like 8 or higher and keep it on manual
High quality production Kitty - loved the whip pan transitions at 3:38...great stuff. Ronin S slays the competition. Awesome video Kitty!
Alpha Phe Productions Its so much fun to use as well 💪. Me and the gimbal toys lol
atola visuals Kitty Targaryen, now blue haired mother of gimbals.
Sheesh you’re so beautiful 🤩
& really enjoyed the comparison between the gimbal and the nsx 😍
Great video! Just curious as to what camera settings you used to shoot the car video - we have a Sony A7SII + Ronin S and our pans are jittery/choppy as heck despite trying different frame rates and shutter speeds. Very frustrated...
Please do a comparison video between Ronin-S vs Zhiyun Crane 2.
Mayur Prajapati I will have an all out gimbals video soon and I discuss this for ya. In editing currently 💪
atola visuals Thank you! For reply.
Waiting for it 😎.
Mayur Prajapati No problem. Lots of people are wondering as well. Have a good day 💙
atola visuals You too... Have a great day 😇.
Yeah, like that hasn't been done before....
I'm curious to see how it does for cold outdoors during the winter season. Great review!
We'll find out soon when winter comes! Or is anyone making any trips up North or South?
Thank you for all you do and share... love that I found you... trust your judgment on these things. Want to buy one of these when I can afford.. Need it now because I want to film about homelessness and I do a lot of mini docs of people an their dogs. Keep moving forward because you are AWESOME.
Awe! Im happy you found me too! That sounds like an awesome project to take on. Cheers!
Great review, to the point, plenty of sample footage and adorable personality!!!!
I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching

Atmosphere Creatives trust me, it’s heavy with a 5D Mark IV and 35-70, plus a Ninja Recorder. The settings are really important
You crushed it! Thanks for the helpful review and tips!
great review, great video!
Thank you thank you
Came from your collab with Sara and I was not ready for this level of *awesome* ... Sub..
Welcome to the channel fam! 😁😁😁

The queen of "gim-bows" returns!
WarChortle lmao Gimbos reign supreme 👑
Nice video! That Ronin-s looks a bit much for my needs right now, but that NSX would work, haha.
Scott Waldron Haha. The NSX is never too much 😜
Thanks for this, very useful. I also appreciate how your video isn’t full of clumsy jump cuts. Watching other videos on here you’d think they were impossible to avoid.
Yeah Im not a fan of jump cuts either. I try to avoid them whenever I can
Love that car and this vid! Keep killing it.
Yessir!!

Nick Bartels Gah yay! Have lots of fun shooting on it 🙌🙌🙌
Well put together
great review with all the details!!
What filter do you have on the 24-70??!
you are brilliant 💖
Also saw your Tilta G2X review... what’s your pick after using both? G2X or Ronin S?
I was Wondering the same thing. G2x quality is crazy good.
That video is next! Almost done editing :D :D
Superb review, many thanks!
I love you to speak slowly and clearly. I can understand English you talked.
Happy you enjoyed it
How does will it work with Nikon cameras like D750. Is it good to buy it I have Nikon D750 to use with
Good job, I look forward to more videos, you have a great sense of humor.
Many many more to come :D
best review yet!!
Awe thanks so much!
The tripod plate SLIDES right into my manfrotto 502AH tripod head with no issues. So, the part where you said it doesn't slide into those manfrotto heads is incorrect.
Thats awesome to hear! I didnt have a 502ah to test it on but thanks for letting us know
Fantastic review of the Ronin. Oh and that car 😍 🔥 Nice shots.
looking at some of the features (and motor placement) it looks pretty much the older sibling of the feiyu G6, which i have for my gopro..
looks like i'll be getting this one for the larger cams.. thanks a lot for your review :)
Thanks for letting me know and watching!
Another great review. Thanks!
Juan Su Thanks so much Juan 😸❤️
Dope video!
sick video! subbed!
Smashed it with the review Kitty! Think I'll stick with the Crane 2 for a little while longer though.
SolitaireDigitalUK Happy you found a gimbal that works for you! Thanks so much for watching regardless!

The new NSX with the Ronin-S gimbooo and Kitty all in the same video? waaaaaaaat! 😍 👊
GroovyMotion So much visual stimulation!!! 😁
Yes Kitty, exactly! 😂
you are a great camera person
hi
with the gimbal do you let the video camera stabilize?
Dope video have you tried using a quick release with your setup mines(manfrotto 323)to hard to balance with gh5 and 18-35 so I’m not even gone use it. Plus it doesn’t seem that hard to set up once you got the initial balance out the way and keep same lense setup
Global Everything Tv Have I tried to use a quick release? It comes with a quick release. Maybe I'm confused on your question
atola visuals quick release plate like the manfrotto 323. Quick release plate pose to allow you to not have to rebalance the gimbal everytime you take it off.
It would be nice to compare the Ronin-S/Crane-2 against an actual SteadiCam. If you would be intrested I'll help since I am a SteadiCam owner/ operator.
Isn't better to use a slider for car shooting?
Love it🙌
Thanks Gordon!
Thank you for this!!
Thank you thank you and youre welcome!

Thanks!
awesome review!!! This review just made me buy one haha

The stick is removable and actually interchangeable with the Mavic Air control sticks (if you prefer longer ones I guess? XD)
Is it?!? I didnt know that
Found out when I was messing around at the local drone club :P
I've used my Ronin S on two feature film shoots. And I'm loving it. Super stable and smooth footage.
how did you get your hands on it?
Daniel Arellano I ordered mine the min I got the email for sale.. finally got mine last week.
Todd, you are already taking full advantage of it. Damn!

If youre on Canon you should check on the Crane 2. Canon able. th-cam.com/video/Xj_wcoM7qlk/w-d-xo.html Haha Ill let him know thanks for watching fam
I was randomly buying the GH5s and the Ronin S without even knowing I‘m lucky because of the features like pull focus. I‘m soo happy I bought the GH5s 😅
Andrin Hettinger Haha score! The world all worked out perfectly for ya lucky! 💙
brah im getting my gh5 next week im so excited to get the ronin s as well WOOP
And I am still waiting for the Ronin S :/
It says it comes after my holidays soo sad.
I love my GH5s! However, I leaning to the Zhiyun crane 2 atm.
Steve Holt For which reasons? :)
Where is the video shot taken in San Fran?
Once the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K would be available...which gimbal would you recommend for that?

I'm sold! Dope ass review homie.
Wheres the handles for the Ronin-s. You mention these @5:25
u got the new sony cable right?
Dope review!!
awe gosh. thx
atola visuals lol. You got it Kitty!!
Cool video great work
Thanks for the love fam!!
Would you commend this as is or a cheaper Zihyun Crane 2 (with the included follow focus)?
On GH5?
Thanks Kitty. This was the review I was most looking forward to.
Cactus Tweeter Awe yay so happy I finally got to post it up for ya fam 😸 Have a great weekend!
im scared this might not handle my 5d mkiii? any reassurance that it will? My lens is pretty light.
This can handle a c200. A 5d is no problem
atola visuals how about a cheaper camera like the canon t3i?
[A KILO JOINT] the t3i is like less than 1/2 the weight of a c200 haha, you’re good my dude.
If I already have the Moza Air. Is this worth getting? I use Sony a6500 mainly and occasionally A73.
It looks really heavy
If you use gmaster lenses then you might want to upgrade. If not, stick with the Moza. Its also one of my favorite gimbals.
How did you do that vertigo shot at @1:39?
Hi Kitty, does it fit in your Peak design 30 L?
If you take it apart or rearrangement the tiers yes
very good review! :D
Thanks!
atola visuals your welcome it was Sooo easy to follow! Can't wait to see what you post next ☺️
will you be doing a comparison with the Tilta?
Ill be comparing all my gimbals in an upcoming video :D
Thanks ! looking forward to that!
Desperately looking forward to getting one of these gimbals! There's a lot to love with the Ronin-S, it seems.
virgiltheart Be careful you might be addicted like me once you start lol
Getting my ronin s next week! 😁
How do you focus.? Can i use focus weel with the Nikon D810?
Looks like it works with D850, not D810 - dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Ronin-S/20181119/Ronin-S_Camera_Compatibility_List_20181119.pdf
Is it a definite must to get a gimbal?
Depends on what you shoot. If you want camera movement then I think so. Theres always sliders, drones, dollies, and jibs, but I find a gimbal can do almost everything I need.
atola visuals Alright thanks!!
Well done … thumbs up for this review
Just found you. Loved you. Subscribed! 💜
Welcome to the channel! 😍
Hi!!! Everytime you change the focal lenght in your zoom lens you have to rebalance the ronin s?
Damn, why didn't I think of double tap and reset before!
Literally the best feature on a gimbal lol
You’re really talented and super adorable🤗
Daw ☺️☺️☺️
Simmmmmmmmp
Isaac Embry HAHAHA
I just found your channel love it🔥
Awe so happy for you to be here!
Sick video
Appreciate the feedback fam!
