I think it's a great idea personally. I think he's right too, the process currently is quite shit. Some fakes cannot be told apart without a probe so there's no aesthetic advantage to a real diamond, and getting a good quality one of a decent size is impossible for most of us, so we end up with crappy quality small stones in ugly looking settings. I truly hate those rings made up of poor quality small diamonds.

I really like this concept. It makes it more special and less of a boring traditional way of men just doing it and hoping the woman likes it. Thank you, someone who gets it! Even if the man picks it out alone, it is something that has more than just financial value and convenience attached to it. Proposing is just a heartfelt gesture, to reduce it to just practicalities is kind of cold. It is like buying a house ; it is a building in and of itself but ppl are what make it a HOME.

What's less romantic than taking your woman shopping for a ring and telling her that the one she wants is out of your price range/ discussing the financial element at all. Any man that wants to propose gets to choose what he wants to gift, end of. If she doesn't like it SO BADLY, he can return it and she doesn't need a ring at all. It's a symbol of commitment until the wedding ring is on.
Kelly seems to think we're all multi millionaires who can afford to take our women out to pick out the biggest most sparkly diamond ring they can find. Nothing more cringeworthy than millionaires do detached from the reality of everyone else that they can come out with c**p like that. Thought the whole point of a proposal is to be a surprise anyway, like I wouldn't take my girlfriend out to pick the ring.
