I miss OLTL so much 😞 Best soap EVER!!! I watched from 1986 til it last aired. The people that work on soaps, I’m front of and behind the cameras are THE hardest working people in television
DAJ. Not true. We did snipits from. Many shows a day from the 90’s forward. The show was written to use one set for multiple days, shoot everything g I. That set and then take it down and do the same routine. It saved time and money. Trust me, I was there for many years
And, apparently none of the soaps even do a full rehearsal like this anymore. Of course, they only did one show a day back then & had time to rehearse.
Back in the 1980s, one of the ABC executives told me that an ABC Vice President had been fired because he recorded a rehearsal of a soap opera from the closed-circuit feed and showed it to an agent. The exec said that recording internal feeds and showing them to unauthorized people was strictly against company policy. I definitely appreciate behind the scenes material, though.
@@mondonproductions4088"This clip" meaning this TH-cam? How was that supposed to promote the show? Does anyone think, "Oh, yeah, I'm going to sponsor [or air] this show...look how great their rehearsal is!"
What type of agent would be interested in such footage? Was the VP trying to help the career of someone involved in this production? Was there anything extraordinary about the work that would show off someone's skills, as opposed to what those in the business would assume to be the routine?
@@goodmaro Getting back to your original question. The agent thing never happened, and as I said it was perks for the ABC O &O's toview behind the scenes The exec's from the affiliates visited the studio all the time when they were in town
@@mondonproductions4088 Thank you Howie. Sad you have to defend yourself to these weird questions. I remember many OLTL commercials as a little kid of ABC promoting the show/shows using actors/actresses clearly in rehearsal onset. I believe some are on here now. I vividly recall Andrea and Fiona in of them from summer of 88 or 89.
Bo is with Cassie and Sarah is with Megan... so probably early 1992. I was just watching some old videos and Bo/Cassie didn't decide to stay married until Christmas 1991 (after Sarah "set him free"... so I am guessing this is January/Feb 1992 and then shortly after that Bo ended up with Sarah anyway.
@@jeaninesarnacki9491 Megan died in February of 1992. In that scene she is with Sarah and the Lupus was just beginning (Larry and Viki's conversation). You can see the sets/backdrops with the fall leaves, ect. This is definitely fall of 1991.. That is Llanfair right after it was redone after that fire. Gottlieb revamped all the sets and lighting in that timeframe.

@@mondonproductions4088 I can't imagine a more wonderful place to be! Thank goodness for TH-cam where we can relive some of our greatest memories ;)

One Life to Live was such a good soap opera
With the look of Llanfair I would say this is 1992.
Late 91 early 92 just before Jessica Tuck left as Megan

Llanfair, my heart 😭

I was there and do not remember any such incident. This clip was shot by ABC for its affiliates We did this all the time to promote the show

Clint and Asa passed within one week of one another..so weird.
The question is why they chose to document a TV show being rehearsed.
This is fall of 91.

@@jeaninesarnacki9491 Good Guess I changed the description to early 90's
6:49 who is the young blond actress in this scene?
Unable to see her face clearly - it could be Karen Witer as Tina !
Looks like 1991
