This is the scene that got me hooked on OLTL. I didn't know VIki's history and I was mesmerized by Erika Slezak's incredible performance. It's sheer melodrama played to perfection. I miss this kind of soap writing. Andrea Evans was perfect too, Just classic soap stuff!
I started watching in the Summer of 1984. This storyline started around that time. I was hooked immediately. OLTL has always been my favorite because of this storyline. When Vicki again suffered alters in 1995 was the only storyline that rivaled this.
Love when Viki says "daddy" with such contempt. This clip makes you wonder if they were hinting even back then that Viki had other alters besides Niki. She's really off the rails here, and some of her behavior is very similar to Tommy, Jean, and Princess.
My gosh, such a great scene. I still have this and many of the episodes of OLTL on VHS. This scene is so incredible. I would have that type of blind status visual pressure seeing the same thing in my line of vision. It's the worst feeling ever.
Again, OLTL's BEST ongoing story (besides the Dorian/Viki rivalry) is Viki's relationship with "Father." So, twisted, complicated, heartbreaking, strange, et al. And little Miss Tina comes back to town to begin to chip away at the truth about Victor Lord.
And we should have all realized something was up when Viki was referencing Dorian about Victor -- "my father, a man she tried to steal from me. She tried to keep him all to herself ..." That was just a little telling and a little creepy, as if Viki was talking about a lover. So, perhaps even then the writers were planting little seeds. And yes, about those lines over Tina's face, at first I thought there was something wrong with the screen! LOL Obviously, Viki is beginning to split.
Very few actors can make you feel their character's rage. Eric Braeden comes to mind. Also James Kiberd when he was playing Trevor on AMC. Among others.
And the Emmy goes too .. erika won an emmy for this. I just dont know if it's her first or second. Viki really really adored her dad. She went so far to send Dorian to death row 18 years later. Much later viewers like myself who only started to hear about victor lord very specifically was in 94 95 when I learned about irene & the kids Tina & todd & him abusing viki etc. Erika did an interview with foundations which is excellent & she said before victor was totally rewritten viki & her dad had a loving warm beautiful father child relationship onscreen his biggest fault was being too over protective & expecting the best from viki. Erika said the actor earnest graves would be turned over in his grave at what they did to victor. Interesting viki always gave tina a hard time but not todd . Victor jr she thought was todd & he died so fast afterwards when the truth about him happened. I wasnt watching when tony lord was on but I'm guessing bc it was a child her dad conceived before he married her mom she was ok with it ? Tina was the first big thing that rocked her world. I mean how would any of of feel if we found out our dad made a child with our 19 year old best friend? I pictured a couple close freinds at that age & it made me sick if they had a baby by my dad when my freind & I were only 19. Its dispicable & makes victor a dirty old man
No Tori wasn't here Tori came in Dorian house she manifest to open the secrets hidden to destroy victor n banner that was the perfect dad n business I think Tori had killed victor or thought she did but she never manifested into a person alter she was rage in viki n Dorian talking to Tommy woke Tori up remember she didn't even have a name
it seems that the incest was ALWAYS lurking off in the back ground of Victor and Victoria Lord's relationship even when Ernest Graves and Gillian Spencer were in the respective roles Victoria Lord went overboard in her worship and idelization of Victor Lord, it's a small wonder that she never got jelous if MEREDITH
@ManTexDal Tony is Viki and Merrie's half-brother (paternal) and full-cousin (maternal). Tony's mother Dorothy and Viki and Merrie's mother Eugenia were sisters.
Caleli, your correct in fact that's the ORIGINAL version of Victoria Lord/Niki Smith came from, it seems that when Eugenia (who was pregenat w/MEREDITH) and at the time a 5 yr old Victoria Lord saw her parents having a violent argument even pulling on her wrists Eugenia lost her balance and fell down the stairs Niki had made her first apperance to protect Victoria, before Eugneia went into premature labor and gave birth to MEREDITH before she died
No. Victor and Eugenia never divorced. His marriages went like this: Eugenia Randolph (widower) Irene Manning (divorced) Dorian Crame (widow) Viki, Merrie and Tina were his only legitimate children. Victor had 3 other children: He had an affair with his sister-in-law Dorothy Randolph and had a son, Tony, making him Viki and Merrie's half-brother and first cousin. Victor and Irene had an affair AFTER they divorced and she became pregnant with Victor Jr. and Todd.
@@brookehanley3659 Victor's Marriages: Eugenia Randolph (1942-59; dissolved by her death) Irene Manning (1961-69; divorced) Dorian Cramer (1975-76; annulled) Tina was born during their marriage (1962) while Todd and Victor Jr. were born after it (1970). Victor and Irene had a relationship after they divorced which resulted in Todd and Victor Jr.'s births.
Actually, Viki is the one that caused Tina to become what she did because she didn't want to share anything with her, even though Tina was entitled to it. Odd that she never really had this attitude with Tony, Todd, or Victor, JR., only Tina. Maybe it was because Viki only considered Meredith to he her one and only sister.
@@shaquana12hyatt It also probably had something to do with the guy they thought was Tina's dad; Ted Clayton. A few years earlier, he was drugging and conning Viki. I remember seeing part of that storyline when I was a child. So she probably felt it was another one of their cons to get her money. And then when she found our Dorian was involved, she really didn't believe it.

Tony was, the first of Viki's HALF brother (her farther Victor had a one night stand with Dorthy Randolph before shipping off to WW 2) he came to town about a yr before Victor died (that first time) Dorian kept them apart so she could get her hands on Victor's money
@TheGPredator8211 Victor and Irene had an affair while he was married to Eugenia, Viki's mother and Tina was conceived. They divorced and then had another affair and Todd was conceived. The order of Victor's children is: Viki (with Eugenia), Merrie (with Eugenia), Tony (with Dorothy, Eugenia's sister and Viki's aunt, making him Viki and Merrie's half-brother AND cousin), Tina (with Irene), Todd (with Irene).
@PensiveCzar Then it must have been Eugenia's sister Dorthy Victor had the affair with because I know that Victor at least conceived one of his children while still married then had the GALL to think that Merrie wasn't his and Eugenia had an affair (so he let her die after her fall down the stairs)
I don't think you could even find any information on Dorothy anywhere. I don't even know if she was shown in flashbacks or what the relationship with her sister and nieces were. They completely forgot about her after Tony was killed. Then Tony was completely erased in favor of Todd (later Victor Jr.). At some point in the 2000s, they acted like Viki, Tina and Todd were Victor's only children. Never mentioned Tony or Merrie. Merrie had a son who was fathered by Dr. Larry Wolek and I think he was also a doctor so that's a nephew that Viki (and later Tina and Todd) could have been involved with. As for the Victor/Dorothy affair, it wasn't nearly as bad as Victor seducing a teenaged Irene Manning, marrying her, divorcing her and then getting her pregnant again or even marrying Dorian who was also Viki's age. Siblings sharing a partner is pretty common which is why it probably wasn't important. Remember that Kevin and Kelly had an affair while she was with Joey so that was also sort of like Victor/Eugenia/Dorothy (though Kevin and Kelly got together eventually)
I could be wrong, but i could have sworn in the late 90's or early 2000's they showed a flashback of Vikki walking into her dorm room and catching her father and Irene together. Do yo know anything about that?

Tina may not have gone back to California. If she did find out VIctor Sr. was her father, Vicki may have been more open to listening due to the influence of Joe.
Also, wouldn't Meredith have remembered Irene and Victor's affair as she was alive during that time? Granted, she was dead by this time, but you'd think she would have known something. Viki wasn't just the only one living in the Lord Manor.
