More likely its due to the fact that the clutch is a centrifuge based, otherwise an automatic, essentially, although some slight additions of extra electronic would allow you to perform a burnt out, which would be awesome lol.
I don't think it matters which one he would drive, but either of the cars still look better than today's vehicles. So, that's a win-win situation for Stewart.

I’ve been running nitro rc for years and i’ve yet heard one that is that deep sounding yet alone not have any exhaust . I’m gonna call bs on this . Looks cool and even the little moving pulleys and belt but highly doubt this is for real. What fuel is this running on because a 2 stroke won’t sound this way . If i’m wrong I apologize up front .
Not real, an engine that small would be very high pitched, and there are tons of already small parts that go into the normal engines, it just sounds like you found audio that matched
I think this is a standard RC electric car just with a engine in the front to look and sound good, I think that’s why they don’t ‘light them up’ because the back wheels would be spinning on RC power and the engine just idling lol

James Bond 007 i know what a conley is, i know what real ones look like and do, and this is not that. this is a model engine in the front, electric engine in the middle or back with an audio card. no matter what, there will be at least a small bit of smoke coming from the exhaust. and, you cant buy a DOHC conley engine, and all conley engines are pull start
+Rhett Str Conleys are absolutely NOT pull start, there are also other people that build these, and there ARE DOHC and so on available. There are also reversing transmissions, and in a 4 stroke, much, much less oil makes it to the exhaust and therefore, less or no smoke. Search YT for "Conley factory tour," and look at the engines he has sitting around. You will see 380 and 540-sized motors as starters. I've been into R/C for almost 30 years, cars for my entire life, and to boot, you just schooled by a girl. So there.
I read some of the comments I can answer a few the questions I know the Builder . Engine is made in Austria by a company called V12 Factory , the Builder is out of turkey he's made four of these cars it does have a custom Forward neutral and reverse Transmissions that is controlled by a servo , even the windows roll up and down automatically he does sell the cars they run about 16,000 USD ready to run
Not sure about that particular motor, but a Conley V8 is about $8,500 (just the motor). Pretty sure that little Charger (1/4 scale) is completely custom fabricated.
Still amazing, just imagine all the cool things you could try with this, there's only 1000, different muffler setups you could put on it lol and suspension kits and tires, its all fun! Could even turn it into a beast mud bogger!

Im doing a a959 partly metal build. I have about half the parts still waiting for some. I got the motor and and ESC in yesterday I'm using a sidewinder 4 7700kv motor. Should be a challenge trying to tame
I very much doubt that "V8" is what powers the car itself. There are parts kits and sound kits out there that can make for a RC car that looks like it's run with an engine, a clutch, gearbox, etc. It's just much easier to make a car run with electric motor(s) and then add the fake V8 parts-kit and a sound chip.
An 1/4 scale engine will sound very similar to full size engine, but just a bit quieter, high pitch comes from high rpm not from small displacement. This video sound is real, dont be dumb

Look up Grave Digger mini v8 people. They are real. Although I am not sure this one's engine is actually connected to the wheels or if it is just an electric motor to make it look like it is. The engine is really running though. Those engine kits are about 5 or 6g. They are crazy cool though.
It is really cool to see people use little gas powered motors in their RC cars but with new technology with batteries and motors I just don't see why people use gas engines anymore because the control oh, speed, acceleration, and price is all favor on the electric side of things. But then again I see why people would use a gas engine because the stand out, be different, the sound of having a real gas engine in your RC car but for performance side that's it just can't touch electric motor
