@@Keith5700 I have a solution to that. I give her a cash bonus equal to 10-20% of the cost of any toy I buy. eg. New RC plane costs $600, she gets $120 cash. Things cost a little more but having a happy supportive wife is priceless.

Yes, this! The negative pressures and turbulence are going to mess with that sensor like crazy. Needs to be relocated. Could be tested using a fan to try to force air in/around it as well.
The O2 sensor on the exhaust floored me. I forgot it was efi. So cool. Please keep after it. Having so many issues is a byproduct of doing something no one has done before. We’re all rooting for you!
I absolutely love the car you have built over the years. I have been watching since the beginning of this build when you had only the engine running on the bench. I was drooling over just the engine. Then you put together this masterpiece of a car and it gets better and better every time you release a video. I know you will get that clutch figured out.
This is a design, fabrication and engineering marvel. I see you enjoy the build process more than driving it. We can never be happy with the finished product because there is always room for improvement or more whacky concepts to try. I love this build that will never be fully complete.

This has to be one of the most badass attention-to-detail build of an RC car that I've ever seen just the sheer attention to detail is mind-blowing all the way down to the homemade dynamometer! Oh and of course it has active Aero I expect nothing less
Awesome car, this is amazing. One thing: you might want to move the O2 sensor. Being so close to the exhaust exit, it will read air and is likely to read leaner than the engine is. The rule of thumb is at least 4 pipe diameters away from the exhaust exit.
The V10 finally spins the wheels! It takes big balls to do something that doesn't even work in a normal car. I've been waiting for the result since the first video, it's in sight, but I don't mind at all. Such thinking and production is not for the day. So far, every video is caressing my automotive soul. More elaborate the work, the more imperfect it is for the creator. 🤘

This is probably a $25,000+ build if you consider the man hours and time and skill it took to mostly make most parts from machining/scratch! But he has wayyy more labor in to this, than that...I bet he would not sell it for $25k! After all is said and done though... What is the top goal? I bet it's lucky to hit 40-50 MPH...but man Oh man that quality and getting to watch the build! Priceless!

Is that an oxygen sensor in the tailpipe? If so it’s likely a bit too close to the ambient oxygen outside the pipe. Automotive sensors are usually in the header collector where all cylinders mix.
@@Keith5700 oh ok, when you mentioned issues with the mega squirt I thought that may have been the issue. Good luck with it, the build is absolutely incredible!!
Your oxygen sensor is misplaced... it should be before the silencer on the main pipe, your current setup is just measuring half of the exhaust gases which gives a false reading to the ECU therefore you are getting a lean mixture reading and the ECU is then putting more fuel into the engine trying to get stoichiometric air fuel mixture.

@@Keith5700 Keith, I can absolutely understand losing interest in a project. I can’t imagine the time, effort, and thought that has gone into this build. I have been following it for some years and it is by far the most detailed and impressive one off R/C build I have ever seen. Both the R/C and Engineering communities would suffer quite the loss if you were to give up on this project. I can not ask that you see it through as I can understand why you might want to stop, but I do ask that you give yourself a break from it for a bit and then re-evaluate to determine if you have the desire to see it through. Whatever you decide, this build is incredible and will still be an impressive feat if it’s left as it sits.
The size blew my mind when I saw your hands near the rear of the vehicle. I know it says 1/3 scale but it’s shocking how big it actually is. My brain was still stuck on “rc car sitting on a table”
I love how ur a perfection on this build. Know question about it. And that ur in wanting it perfect before u take it out for a good run but there's a bunch of us that would love to see some test runs on an asphalt parking lot. Just to see what it can do at this stage. But COOL video 👍 can't do wait to see what's next!
I’d love to get it out but still can’t get it to run without the full sized car battery. it seems to absorb interference better than smaller batteries, which cause the ecu to trip out. and I need on board compressed air for the gearbox air shifters. Next year hopefully.

Absolutely insane build I love it, I wish I could engineer to that level, I've had enough of a challenge getting my tamiya TXT-1 back together 🤣. I think I'll stick to the full size stuff. But the sound from that V10 is fantastic to hear 👍
Absolutely amazing build. Don't let the numbers bog you down though. It's more about how it feels to drive. Some of the more extreme rock crawlers can have a power loss of 60-70% from crank to wheels, so a 40-50% loss on this masterpiece is probably to be expected. I realize as I write that the video is older than I thought. Hope you've progressed on this project and. Cheers.
This is the first video I've run across of yours and I subscribed before the 2 minute mark. I'm not really into RC cars but that thing is going to be awesome when you get the bugs worked out of it.
This is a rare case where you're lucky to be this late into a build series as it has been going on for nearly a decade and only 17 parts has been made so far, and there's not even videos of the Engine being build.

No. You can get 1/4 scale V8 from Conley, in US, for around $8000 maybe. But it wouldn’t pull a person around on anything, as mine wouldn’t either.

On full scale you need 12-14” of pipe after an oxygen sensor for it not to be contaminated by outside air.

Absolutely insane build I love it, I wish I could engineer to that level, I've had enough of a challenge getting my tamiya TXT-1 back together 🤣. I think I'll stick to the full size stuff. But the sound from that V10 is fantastic to hear 👍

Absolutely amazing build. Don't let the numbers bog you down though. It's more about how it feels to drive. Some of the more extreme rock crawlers can have a power loss of 60-70% from crank to wheels, so a 40-50% loss on this masterpiece is probably to be expected.

This is the first video I've run across of yours and I subscribed before the 2 minute mark. I'm not really into RC cars but that thing is going to be awesome when you get the bugs worked out of it.
This is a rare case where you're lucky to be this late into a build series as it has been going on for nearly a decade and only 17 parts has been made so far, and there's not even videos of the Engine being build.
Love to see it when you have the clutch sorted, definitely not showing its full potential here. Awesome craftsmanship.
