      I also had two stroke and was about to talk, write, walk etc again. I was always a crocheter and I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to crochet again it been 9 years now, I had to learn to crochet again but with TH-cam I learned again and learn more stitches and techniques. I also improved my knitting and sewing. It was at my own pace, rewinding over and over again. TH-cam is great for learning new things and improving new skills for seniors. I hope they stop trying to change it.

    I absolutely love that you hold your working yarn the same way I do. My grandma and aunt tried for so many years to make me hold it with my pointer finger sticking up in the air, and I could never get it. As an adult, I picked up yarn again and did it my way, and now I am so good at it, and discovering many people hold it alternative ways and that is absolutely OK!

    Hi Roz. I needed to tell you that I was taught how to crochet when I was in first grade by my great aunt. Since then I have taught many including my sister and mother-in-law that are lefties.
    Your videos are well-planned, very clear to understand, spoken with a calm voice but most of all, one can tell what a dedicated love that you have for crochet. Thanks for what you offer to all of us. We greatly appreciate it and we hope that you will continue. Hugsss, Kat.❤

    Happy Thanksgiving ! I have to admit that I am utterly addicted with the Granny Square for its nostalgic quality and versatility. In this video, I share how the infinity granny/rectangle is truly one of the easiest blankets you can make if you are a beginner. Limited counting and only chains/ double crochets are needed to whip this up. This is also a great "go to" if you are a seasoned crocheter wanting to get some stash busting done! I've been happily going along making your lovely granny rectangle when, horror of horrors, I discovered I'd omitted 2 double crochets from a cluster below where I was working. I went to look at your hack about mending this. I tried over and over to fix the error as you so beautifully demonstrated, but I just couldn't manage to do it. I shall now go quietly and begin to frog my way out of this. I could let one missing dc go, but 2 is terrible. I will continue to be a devoted follower of your site anyway. (Lee)

    I liked your comment about not "unseeing" a mistake. Because I do many different types of crafting and needle work I have made my share of mistakes. I am also a bit of a perfectionist so when I have made mistakes--crochet, cross-stitch, tiny bead weaving, painting--I obsess about it to the point of driving my poor husband nutty. Finally he asked me to show him the general area of a mistake and said if he could pick it out without me identifying it right away then it was probably worth trying to fix. He said if he couldn't find it, most people would probably not notice it either. That was about 20 years ago and this method still works for me. He has also learned a great deal about crafting himself!

    When you say flip do you mean you do one row on the wrong side then flip to the front side and do a row and then flip back to the wrong side and do a row then flip back to the right side and do a row that wasn't very plain or do you do every row on the wrong side

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1:50 I think I did clarify this but I’m sorry if it was confusing.- round one on the right side, round two on the wrong side and just keep repeating this sequence. Switching from right to wrong sides with each round counteracts the twist that seems to happen when working on one side continuously.
      I share in detail how to “flip” in the granny square tutorial so you can see what I mean.
      Hope that helps

    You can easily turn any granny square into a cardigan. Make 6 angle instead of 4. Fold your hexagone into a L shape and flip it upside down: you have the right (or left) part (front and back!) so make another one. Then, place your 2 L side to side to form a 'T' before assembling the 2, sew the the horizontal line of the T separately (that's the top of your sleeves) then sew the back of your cardigan by sewing the 2 L into a T (let the front open!) here is your cardigan!
